Well, there is something I don't understand. When you obtain a new badge, some badges let you use some HM outside battle, and let you control higher level pokemon.but they also say that the badges increase your pokemon's stats. For example, the boulder badge raises your pokemon's attack. But after I got the badge,my pokemon's attack was still the same.I don't know what it means. Can someone tell me?

Bah, it's probobly just a lie :p

No actually don't really know... Meyby it raises the attack of your Pokémon's moves? Nah, that doesen't make any sense... But it might be true!

Yeah, I was wondering about it too. As Nicole5529 said it's probably a lie. What could it change? It can't change IVs, EVs, DVs, Stats, Base Power. The Gym Leaders are THE MAFIA!!! :p

I say this

For example you get attack +1 each lvl with a certain badge it will be 2+ each lvl

off topic: did you just make that up?

Anyway I think it's a lie too.
It could, however, change a hidden value that determines how much your attack for example gets boosted when you use like SD or something.

I think its a lie, maybe its something once in the beta versions of all the games, but nintendo thought it to be pointless so they scraped it but frogot to take out the dialogue.

very nice high five!
I don't think it's a lie.

It is probebly something like it increses the stats of the poke only one battle.

Or it increases in EV once. But is doesn't matter anyway, badges or no badges your pokemon can be strong anyway.

It is probebly Nintendo did it to look cool. XD

I never noticed a difference either. Nintendo wouldn't lie like that, so I have no idea why it would say that. Maybe nightcat has a point...they said it just so you would feel good about getting a badge and stuff. xP

uhhuh! *singing* i've got a po-int! I've got a po-int!

Anyway, yes because they had to fill it up with something to make you feel good. Another theory that I just made up is that they wanted to use all the extra memory in the game, so they just put that there, 'cept that would be kinda pointless when they could put that memory to something good...

Or maybe they have some extra variable (e.g., x) modifying stats in-battle where x=.9 without a badge and x=1 with a badge.

That's my theory, anyway. Someone could probably figure it out by hacking in.

It Raises How Much Base Stateswill Aise When You Level Up.

Neither of those sounds right. The first one (changes how much the stat gains) is mathematically impossible based on how stats rise anyway. The second one (1 EV) just sounds too stupid, especially since one EV is a pitiful change (considering that the max is 255).

well, i'm not sure how much it increases it by, but i do know from empirical evidence that it does boost it. it's said the same thing for badges since R/B/Y.

in Ru/Sa, i had my kyogre fight itself in a secret base. (trade to another game, mix, trade back and fight.) the one i was controlling went first every time. the same thing happened with my kyogre against someone's gengar. in a link battle, my kyogre was faster, but in a secret base in his game, his gengar is. i don't know how much it is, but i'd guess something along the lines of 1.1 or 1.05. something otherwise insignificant.

the bonuses are probably ignored in link battles, too, to keep people from getting unfair advantages.

I bet it is a lie, going all like "oMg l3ik i b3@t br00ckk n0W mY p0k3m0n @r3 sTr0ng3R!!111!1" I didn't see any difference in my Pokemon after Brock, or anyone else, so I'm pretty sure its a stupid lie.

The actual stats of your Pokemon are not increased. Instead, the game adds a %30 bonus (for Speed, anyway...the other stats may be different) to your Pokemon's stats during battles in story mode.
