Question about Wikipedia entry on Red

Red discovers information on Team Rocket, when he is trying to catch a poor girl named Green who stole all of his gym badges to buy food for her Ivysaur.

And Green doesn't have an Ivysaur.

Red started off in Pallet Town as an aspiring trainer, and got a Charmander from Professor Oak as his starter Pokémon. He also had a Pikachu as an ally beforehand, and used these two Pokémon on his adventure. He wears a red jacket and a cap, with blue jeans as well. His rivals include Blue, another Pokémon trainer from Pallet town, who was granted Charmander by Professor Oak, Green, who stole Squirtle from Professor Oak, and Team Rocket.

He then goes head to head with Blue in the Pokémon League, beating him, and thus gaining the Elite Four's respect.

Novel idea here, but if there's an error, you can all edit it as well. Don't just say 'oh wikipedia is garbage', as you CAN correct it. I would do it, but I haven't read the manga, so I haven't a clue what the error in question should be corrected to.

I have a good guess what happened: Someone with the ViZ or Singapore translation must have done the articale. If you're not happy, go change it: After all, it is free for all to change.

Someone thought that becuase Red was called Red they thought he would have started with Charmander... (I hope this never happenes again).

Well in some ways like these comic books I found at a store, their names in the comic books of Pokemon Adventures is completely messed up. It follows the story line but in this 25 page comic book Green is the girl and Blue is the boy. See, it's kinda messed up.

The name of their trainers' are the colour of the element they are weak against. That's what I feel. >_<

No they are name after the game so you feel so wrong so it isn't Viz'z fault but nintendo because they changed pokemon Green into Blue Please do some reseach Instead saying crap.

I think they were just talking about how the pattern goes. Oh course they were named after the games but is it a coincedence that their pokemon is weaker against the element of their names like Red being Fire.

I saw a lot of false information on wikipedia once.

The Wikipedia entries are easy to find, but you can't always rely on them because regular people can make the contents by simply logging in and changing the entire article. But then again, it is a good source to find what you need for the sensible people that put the right information there. If you're sure of what you think, then you should make an account there and change one of the articles to fit your needs.

For this statement:
"After losing once to Team Rocket, he learns Green is in love with him and has been since the battle with Mask of Ice." (Green here refers to the girl named Blue in Japanese)


is completely false and made up. There aren't really any substantial hints of love between the two (unless you count their early encounters in RGB where Blue (Green) calls Red her sweetheart in front of TR).

This other statement in the last paragraph of that wiki page:
"During the battle, Green confesses that she loves Red, which is why she sent Yellow to save him years ago, which was the time when she discovered her feelings."

is false as well, reason being the same as above. The author of this sentence might have mistaken the discussion between Red and Blue on Five Island as a love confession, but actually it was more about Blue encouraging Red as an old friend, and her voicing of her desire to participate in the battle against Deoxys.
