Question concerning Colo and Emerald..

Okay, so I'm playing through Colo again to recapture every Shadow Pokémon, and I plan on trading them to my Emerald game to fill in some Pokédex slots I may have missed..

I heard in the past that Colo MAY delete your Emerald Game data should you do anything with the two games while they are linked up..

Is this true or is it just some rumor set out to scare people? I don't have a normal GBA trade cable, else this wouldn't phase me..

Any help is appriciated, thank you. ;012;

I highly doubt anything would happen, but you only need it all connected for about 10 mins to trade so don't worry.

most internet rumors are all bullsh*t anyway

Thus why I posted to make sure it wasn't a rumor or not. xD I have an almost completed Pokédex on Emerald, as well as about 300 ingame hours, so I was just making sure before I lost all of my hard work.

I'll wait a little while longer to see if anyone else knows for sure..o.o

I hope it doesn't delete anything because I'm doing the same thing your doing when I finish Colo!

as long as you dont touch the reset buttons or pull out the cable nothing should happen!

I believe this is just a rumor that came about because of the behavior of Emerald when there is a Link Error while communicating with Colosseum. If the link does get disconnected while the game is saving, you may not be able to pick up where you left off and resume the trade. Instead, you have to reset your GBA, accept the message that says, "The save file is corrupt. Resuming from last good save," and save your game again before you can resume trading with Colosseum. This is the same failsafe that restores your game after you turn off the GBA power during a save. It is normal behavior and there is no loss of data, despite what the more paranoid players would have you believe.
