Questions about Smeargle

i'm going to raise a team of smeargles and i had a couple questions.

1. Useing it's Sketch move it can learn ANY move right? includeing the Elemental Hyper Beams?

2. If i teach it Protect and Detect, if i alternate their use in battle will thy still work? or did Nintendo put in some code counting them as the same to prevent that. I thought it would a good combo to use toxic then switch between the two for a perfect stall, well till the PP is gone anyway.

1. Yes, Smeargle can learn any move, including the elemental Hyper Beams.

2.Yeah, I think you can.

Smeargle can't use Transform though ... Ut it knowing most move is good, because it can pull off amazing comboes.

Yes, it can, from the Sleep glitch: if you put a Ditto to sleep before it can Transform, then Sketch it, you'll Sketch Transform, despite Transform not actually being used, or so I've heard. This is because Sketch is based off the opponent's move selection, not necessarily dependant on whether the move's actually used or not.

True but this is only supposed to work in ruby/saphire.
Word is fire red/leaf green/ emerald have some kinda error doing this.
I've been wanting to try that but as of so far i haven't gotten it set up enuf to do so

You can't use Protect/Detect alternatingly. Protect will work, Detect will have half the chance, Protect again a quarter... They both use the same counter for accuracy, so they can't be used together.

Ok, it seems like this question is answered. It can learn just about every move, and Protect/Detect/Endure are all on the same counter.
