Questions about the anime you don't know the answer to

Why does Ash rarely reference and seem to forget about his Pokemon and past characters that he knew?

Why do trainers seem to not need to spend money on items and services? Why is the police force in the Pokemon world so hilariously incompetent?

The most obvious question: what happened to Satoshi's father and why haven't we heard about him other than in the second episode?

That was my bigget frustation with that series, XY anime ha literally lurking with ash's previous pokemon froom bulbaaur, quirtle, charizard, sceptile, snorlax, krokofile or taraptor but not even a singe time he had given any reference of them.

When exactly did Jessie and James meet? The Chronicles special made it seem like they had just met there but the Cycling Road episode from Kanto implied that they knew each other when they were kids.
  7. TheWanderingMist

TheWanderingMist Daikuro, Keeper Of The Gates Ambitious

    Two possibilities:

    1. Retcon
    2. They simply didn't recognize each other when they signed up for Team Rocket and eventually found out about their shared past when one of them ended up saying something about being in a biker gang.

    2. Are they really that incompetent? The worst people we see are either thieves or poachers, and the police are always right on their trail. No doubt worse criminals exist in the Pokemon world, and for the leaders of evil teams, they have hundreds of bodyguard in their followers.

Why does Ash check the pokemons he already knows about again in the pokedex. ( sometimes he checks the pokemons he has owned )

Is Pidgeot still waiting for Ash?

As Ash is mostly travelling and doesn't spend time with his old pokes. How did they learn new moves? (e.g. Sceptile with leafstorm) Who is training them.

When will Ash get an Eevee?

Why didn't Iris and Serena reappear?

Did Paul win his battle against Brandon?

What the hell is a Pokemon Master?

We know that it probably has something to do with leagues, but we know nothing of the actual title itself.

I thought it was obvious that he does that to get new information on them because Pokedexes are always updated over time.

That is easy. Ghost Pokemon are relatively rare and both Genger and Dusclops are fully corporal compared to most Ghosts. Secondly, he commonly calls out Quick Attack and Seismic Toss was Charizard's finishing move. Finally, he is a kid and he got caught up in the heat of battle. Mistakes happen. Especially involving Pokemon rarely fought.

The real question is the in-universe justification for Ash commanding Kingler to pinch Psyduck's head. He traveled with Psyduck and fully knew its abilities. What is sillier, Kingler just used a Crabhammer on the water to blow away Poilwhirl but the writers wanted to throw Misty an undeserved bone, they had no realistic way of having Misty edge Ash in a straight fight, thus Ash had to pick the idiot ball.

What does Delia Ketchum actually do when she's at home? Mr. Mime cleans for her and she doesn't seem to have a job even though it was implied in one of the official anime books that she runs a restaurant that we've never seen.

She doesn't work as far as we know. She just stays at home or visits Professor Oak.

What was the original plan for Ash's father, and was there ever one?

How often did Ash even face against Ghost types before then?

Has nothing to do with the leagues.

I've also heard the word "strongest" (saikyou) used as an adjective before "Pokemon Master", implying there can be more than one, in order for there to be a "strongest", "greatest" and "best".

What the anime considers a title is in fact a trainer class in the games. A Pokemon Champion is a type of Pokemon Trainer, and in games it is not distinct from the trainer classes.

So a Pokemon Master is an entirely different "job", complete with its own sub classes and hierarchy. The key is figuring out what a 10 year old boy thinks distinguishes a Master from a Trainer.

Why couldn't Ambipom ever settle on one hobby throughout her stay in the show? She kept changing her mind about which activity she liked the best and it was annoying. Did she just have ADHD?

I think the question that is burning in our minds right now is:

What happens when Satoshi wins a league? How does he progress from here?

And if he will just keep traveling and competing in new leagues...

What is the point? Why did they wait so long to let Satoshi win a league if it won't result in any major changes? Why didn't he win during the seasons when he was more battle-oriented instead of SM which focuses on comedy and slice-of-life?

And why did he suddenly do worse in the Unova league? If you ignore the Unova league he actually progressed over time: DP top 4, BW top 8, XY runner-up and SM winner.

    Another question that SM rises:

Why did he need to go to school to learn about Pokémon battles if he is supposed to be even more competent than in XY since he placed higher in the league this time?
