Quick Question About EVs

Status
Not open for further replies.
Hey,

I am new to the business of EV training pokemon but I have read through the Serebii EV page and think i understand it but there is one this i need to know.

As the max EVs for one stat is 252, (Let's say for this example i am EV training a poke in HP) If i battle a pokemon that give 1 EV to HP with the pokemon i am EV training will that pokemon now have the following EVs?

1 HP
0 Attack
0 Defense
0 Sp. Attack
0 Sp Defense
0 Speed

If this is true it would mean i would have to battle 251 more of these pokemon to max out my EVs in HP?

Thanks to anyone that can help.

EDIT: Oh and also, how many EV points does one vitamin give?

One vitamin gives you 10 ev points depending on the vitamin. You can give a pokemon 10 vitamins for a total of 100, ths makes EV training easier. The max is 10 vitamins in each stat.

awhups
Vitamins give 10 EVs for the specific stat. You can use vitamins for a specific stat until it has at least 100 total EVs (thus 10 vitamins) -- after that, you'll have to manually EV train for the remaining 155.

Also, if you hold the item Macho Brace, the amount of EVs you get doubles. For example, if you fight a Pokemon that would normally give 1 HP EV, the Macho Brace would make it a total of 2 HP EVs per fight. If you fight something that gives 2 HP EVs, the Macho Brace makes it 4.

Pokerus has the same effect as the Macho Brace. If you have both the Macho Brace and Pokerus, the number of EVs is four times the normal (so instead of 1 you would get 4, instead of 2 you would get 8, etc).

However, if you're holding a Macho Brace or if you have Pokerus, vitamins still give 10 EVs per stat.

Ok, thanks for the help guys. I think i am ready to breed and EV train my team to perfection now :)
