Quick questions regarding PokeRus.

Why, hello there!

My, I have just discovered that the Gorebyss in my PC Box has the PokeRus. Well, I found that a surprise! I also checked most of my Pokemon. Most members of my party have a black dot in the designated spot. I've been wondering if this black dot is some sort of "immunization mark" that means that they can't catch the virus, because I've read on the site that the black dot results after PokeRus disappears (I'm wondering if my party Pokemon had the virus, and I never knew it.) All the Pokemon in my party have the effort ribbon due to them eating so many vitamins, and I've learned that that means that they can longer gain anymore EV points.

My Absol (Demonnight) has the Effort Ribbon, but is the only one in my party that does not have the black dot. Does this mean that Absol can still catch the PokeRus? If so, would the PokeRus still give him doubled EV points?

Come along, dear
If I"m correct, the dot means that the Pokemon have once had the PokeRus as a status condition, like your Gorebyss. The dot is only there I think meaning the PokeRus will not spread but still gives x2 EV's.

yeah i've seen that too *i've never actually had a pokemon with pokerus so bear with me:p* the black dot means a pokemon has already had the virus, it's worn of and the black dot signifies it can't catch it again

I'm too coo', foo'
That pokemon can't catch it again. I know this, because my three regis has the same dots beside their pokeball.

Yeah but is it really true that the effects stay in place, like doubles ev's? i never knew that, i thought you caught the virus, trained your nuts off then it was gone for good!!

You guys are confusing me.

I'm pretty sure once the PokeRus disappears, the dot means the effects have worn off and it is now immune, just like not being able to catch chicken-pox again.

MY questions is whether a pokemon's EVs will continue to double even if the pokemon already has the effort ribbon.

well that's what i thought, BUT apparently the effects remain, it just can't spread the disease anymore if it gets the black dot.

o well screw it, even if the effects don't remain *which i'm not saying they don't* i'd still be chuffed to bits if one of my team caught it and the effects did wear off cause atleast then he/she would still get a small boost in ev's:D

It's in the FAQ, no they won't get double EVs after they get the Effort Ribbon since the Effort Ribbon meand they've maxed out the EVs, meaning you can't get anymore EVs.
