Quick Volt Tackle Breeding Question

Hi, If I breed a male pikachu with volt tackle with a female pikachu without a light ball I was wondering if the baby would know Volt Tackle. Same goes for surf too actually.

Surf is not a teachable HM nor is it an egg move... therefore the pokemon box pika can not breed further pikas with surf. (thus making surf and any other egg move illegal).
Volt tackle is not an egg move persay. It is a specially achieved move. Therefore a male pika knowing volt tackle cannot pass down volt tackle unless 1 of the pikas is holding the lightball (IIRC it doesn't matter which is holding the lightball as long as one of the parent pikas/raichus is holding it).

is there any easyer way to get the lightball? I have been catching pikachu in the safari zone all morning and i am not sure if any have it yet, i havent left the zone to see.

I had to catch 36 pikachus before i could find the stupid light ball, i'd save before going in the safari zone, then catch as many pikachus as you can, come out, see if the ball is there, if not, restart, saves you some money

what is serebii's method? i basically just did wat you said about saving, go in, catch as many as possible and go see. but wat i found is i had a flaffy up front on my team and i was running into pikachu left right and centre, so i think the ability static has something to do with it. But i have my light ball now, i have two eggs waiting to hatch and fingers crossed they will have volt tackle, and maybe thunder bolt from the father. Thanks anyway guys
