Raichu vs. Jolteon

What moves does each learn (assuming you don't evolve Pikachu until level 50)? I just got my Eevee and I'm trying to decide between evolving him into Jolteon or keeping my Pikachu.

Thanks,
Croocial

Also, which would you suggest?

The Serebii Pokedex contains information on every Pokemon's moves, as well as some other useful info. Here is Pikachu's page.

If you want more than one Thunderstone, you can buy them from the Celadon Dept. Store. If you only want to use one, then I would suggest evolving you Eevee and equipping your Pikachu with a Light Ball, which doubles its Special Attack power. Light Balls are rare, but can sometimes be found on wild Pikachu.

Jolteon all the way. Riachu isnt nearly as good as Jolteon cuz not only are its stats only ok, but Jolteon outranks it not only in speed stats, but also in sp. atk stats. it all depends on what you want to use the pokemon for
raichu: any team that needs
Jolteon: a BPasser team
EDIT: if you want to evolve your eevee and you already have an electric, then evo it into vaporeon. (sry, i only saw the jolteon vs. raichu)

Pikachu seems to be a little better in terms of moves, because it learns Thunderbolt and Thunder, but I'll check out their stats to compare. Thanks for the help, both of you.

Well, after looking at the Base and Max stats of Raichu and Jolteon, Jolteon looks a lot better. He has better stats than Raichu in every section except Attack. I think I'll go with Jolteon.

But...Now I've evolved Eevee into Jolteon with a Thunderstone. I tried leveling it with a Rare Candy, but it still didn't learn Thundershock, which it's supposed to learn at level 16. Will it learn Thundershock if I don't use a Rare Candy?

Jolteon all the Way!

Pikachu deffinetly has a better movepool to work with but Jolteon's stats are way better. Jolteon also learns several moves to deal with pesky psychics such as pin missle and shadow ball. So Jolteon may be better but with the right moves and nature Pikachu/Raichu can still pack quite a punch!

I don't care...
If at all possible, go for Raikou for your electric needs. I would chose anybody over Raichu (Ok, maybe not Plusle or Minun...)

Jolteon.

Or if you don't mind being a cheap fighter, try Zapdos. Lots of Pokemon can use Earthquake, but they can't touch Zapdos.

Well, Landlord, Raichu is also my favorite Pokemon, so that plays a part. :p

When I caught Raikou in Silver, he seemed really bad at first...Is he even in LG?

^Yeah, I read that. Seems really good! I got Jolteon, but have to wait for him to get to lvl 52 to learn ANY lightning-based move!! Since he was lvl 25 when I got him, he can't learn Thundershock...Unless by TM? But where would I get that, anyway?

I kinda always used Raichu.. but if you can try using an Electrode..

being the fastest pokemon in the game .. use a strong attack and its a 1 hit KO every pokemon battle

use jolteon, and buy the thunderbolt TM (24) at the celadon game corner. it's better than thunder, and you can get it immediately.

if you don't have the money, and you've finished the game, there's a move relearner on the sevii islands somewhere. you can re-teach it thundershock.

I agree that Raichu rocks; he's one of my favorite Pokemon!

But, I don't have Pokemon Box.

just for the record, with everyone talking about how jolteon doesn't learn any elec moves until lvl 52... just buy the TMs, give it agility and baton pass, and it will be your favorite in about three battles of BPassing max agility onto another poke.

Hmm, even though you're going on about the game, this is more of a PokePoll, so yeah, I'm gonna move it there since it could be better suited there. :p

Raichu is plain bad with it's poor defences. Jolteon is faster and it's stats are higher overall. A pikachu is better than a Raichu >>
