Rain Dance Team in the works! Please Help!

I like to use BL/UU pokemon because they're fun :p

After I made this team, I already saw a glaring weakness in the fact that half of my Pokemon are just running Sp. Att everywhere. All criticism greatly appreciated

THE TEAM AT A GLANCE

Scizor.png

Crobat.png

Crobat @ Damp Rock
Inner Focus
Jolly
160 HP, 134 Att, 216 Spe.
-Hypnosis
-Taunt
-U-Turn
-Rain Dance

I saw this moveset on Smogon, so I tried it out and it was amazing. He Sleeps the opponent, or Taunts things like leading Forretress. Replacing Aerial Ace with Rain Dance to set up the rest of my team. U-Turn when his use is completed. Holding Damp Rock, preferred to keep RD up, but also leaning toward Leftovers.

Phione.png

Phione @ Damp Rock
Hydration
Modest
252 SpA, 252 HP, 4 Def
-Rain Dance
-Rest
-Surf
-Toxic/Grass Knot

My main Rain Dancer. Works with an UU Rain Dance team perfectly. RD activates Hydration, Rest for free heal, Surf for STAB, and debating between Toxic and Grass Knot.

Kingdra.png

Kingdra @ Life Orb
Swift Swim
Naughty
170 Att, 252 SpA, 88 Spe
-Rain Dance
-Signal Beam
-Waterfall
-Outrage

My second Rain Dancer. Waterfall is STAB, and Outrage for STAB. Signal Beam is here for a filler slot and takes care of pesky Celebi, which has proven to be a problem, but there isn't much I can do with it otherwise. Any better moves?

Toxicroak.png

Toxicroak @ Life Orb
Dry Skin
Jolly
252 Spe, 252 Att, 6 HP
-Cross Chop
-Stone Edge
-Sucker Punch
-X-Scissor

Dry Skin Toxicroak trumps Dry Skin Parasect. The moveset is pretty much Smogon, but its effective.

Gorebyss.png

Gorebyss @ Life Orb
Swift Swim
Modest
252 SpA, 210 Spe, 48 HP
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Psychic
-Hidden Power (Electric)

My special sweeper. Surf is STAB, then Ice Beam, Psychic and HP for coverage.

Scizor.png

Scizor @ Choice Band
Technician
Adament
6 HP, 252 Att, 252 Spe
-Bullet Punch
-U-Turn
-Pursuit
-Double Hit

I really like this moveset, actually. Bullet Punch is obvious, as is U-Turn. Double Hit takes advantage of Technician, and Pursuit to take care of pesky Psychics

Please put changes in RED. Thanks for the help guys!

Kingdra for Closyter, you might be lucky to get the rain dance up with cloyster and it will be your lucky day if you manage to get two attacks out of cloyster, its just that bad in the OU metagame.

Anyway, Kingdra, now with the almighty STAB Outrage is pretty much a must in a rain dance team. It can also set-up rain dance for you too.

EDIT: For ludicolo give it the leftovers item and rain dish ability.

Change the moveset to:

Calm Nature
204 HP / 76 SpA / 124 SpD / 104 Spe
Surf
Grass Knot
Leech Seed
Ice Beam / Rain Dance

EDIT 2: you could even make ludicolo your special sweeper and replace Gorebyss with another support pokemon and/or wall.

EDIT 3: you could even add scizor somewhere there. Scizor is a fantastic edition in Rain Dance teams as its only weakness is covered to some extent because of the rain. It is also a fantastic and now with bullet punch, one of the dangerous pokemon in the OU metagame.

I changed OP with the suggestions you game me. I am also now considering Dry Skin Parasect, but it's not likely. Parasect would replace Ludicolo

maybe a toxicroak or a quagsire would be good for your team im not good with movesets

Re edited team. Parasect for now, but it's frailness really concerns me, but I'll try it. Proper strategy will (hopefully) prove it to be an effective Pokemon

For one of my Rain Dance teams I tried using Vaporeon and passing an Aqua Ring to a Leech Seeding, Rain Dish, Lefties Ludicolo. It was intense. He gained 1/4 of his HP back each turn. Plus he got more HP from Giga Drain.

What do you think? Try it (or not lol)

Seribii Staff...rly!
Gorebyss = FAIL. You should keep damp rock on Crobat, it works well. I would go with the belly drum set on Azumaril but that's just my oppinion.

i think his azumarril is a sleep talker for this team. so no need for belly drum, really.

If I actually went with Weezing, moveset would look something like this;

Weezing @ Leftovers
Levitate
Bold
252 Def, 252 HP, 6 SpA
-Thunderbolt
-Fire Blast
-Haze
-Explosion

Weezing wouldn't be too good on this team, FB is weakened by RD.

Maybe Phione?

Phione@Leftovers
Hydration
Bold/Calm
252 HP, 76 Def, 180 Spdef
-Surf
-Rest
-Rain Dance/Acid Armor/Ice Beam/Signal Beam
-Ice Beam/Signal Beam/Grass Knot/Knock Off?

Just off the top of my head.

^Which is why I said if I actually went with it. I may possibly (doubtfully, but possibly) if I change FB to SB.

I actually really like that moveset, though. Swapping Azumarill with it, mainly because Azu really hasn't done much to help my team

This team looks too easily walled by Bronzong but I could be wrong....
Love Toxicroak though....

Some more hints, put Yawn and Dragon Dance on Kingdra. Use Yawn to switch the opponents or induce sleep, then set up with DD. Yawn can be used on Celebi because you'll go first, so it won't get blocked by Sub.

And you could also replace Crobat with Electrode. It's fast, can Taunt, set up Rain Dance, and abuse the accuracy boost of Thunder. And you get STAB and a nice chance of paralzing any other Pokemon. In other words, a good Rain Dance supporter Pokemon. Like this:

Electrode@Focus Sash (Taunt)/Leftovers (Substitute)
Hasty/Timid
Static
EV/ 108 Spd, 252 HP, 158 Spatk
-Rain Dance
-Substitute/Taunt
-Thunder
-Explosion/HP (Ice/Grass/Water)

Choose sub or taunt, whatever you like. Then if you want explosion, do it, then there's HP. Ice for the BoltBeam coverage, Grass for Swampert and such, or Water for the boost from Rain Dance.

I'll try Electrode, see if it works well, but Crobat has worked great in the past

Kingdra already has Life Orb, so theres a boost in Att and SpA, and RD gives him the speed boost, and he's worked great in the past, as well
