Rain Dance Team Try Number Two

Drizzler

Rain Dancer
While it may not be likely you may or may not have looked at my last rain dance team. Well I have made some changes! I only use 2 Swift Swim pokemon to keep this from being too broken and just spamming every Swift Swim pokemon I can get my hands on. My team consists of Politoed at lead for Drizzle and for being my all time favorite pokemon. ;186; Forretress to abuse the fact that he's awesome and will only have one x2 weakness when in the rain. ;205; Ludicolo because what rain team is complete without him? He's there as a recovering and stalling special defender and attacker. ;272; Toxicroak for his ability to own, stall, be beneficial to my rain dance team without being water, and being a frog. ;454; And Finally Kingdra and Kabutops as my special and physical Swift Swim sweepers respectively. ;230; ;141;

Politoed ;186; @ ???
Drizzle
???/???
Modest
??????
??????
Encore
Hypnosis

I know it's incredibly vague, but there are a lot of ways I can go with this guy. I can boost speed some and give a choice scarf for a quick hypnosis then switch or leave slow to always guarantee my weather in effect or have him be just a power hitting special defender. I haven't decided :/ Tips appreciated!

Forretress ;205; @ Iron Ball
Sturdy
252Def/252Att
Adamant
Toxic Spike
Stealth Rock
Gyro Ball
Revenge/power trick/earthquake/explosion/bug bite

There are a lot of ways I could go with for that last move as you can see. The idea here is to switch in on a physical opponent who will hopefully think they can beat up and out-speed this little guy. Allowing him to take hits and set up. Then hit 'em with a nice strong Gyro Ball to the face or possibly some other move. Power trick works nicely as his attack isn't bad and would be good for his defense and make his attack go through the roof especially with Gyro Ball.

Ludicolo ;272; @ Leftovers
Rain Dish
252 SpD/252SpA
Modest
Surf
Giga Drain
Leech Seed/Fake Out
Protect

A reverse Forretress in some ways. Except on the special side. He regains a lot of health at the end of the turn with Dish Leftovers and Leech Seed and more with a giga drain going last at the end of the turn. But fakeout would allow for an extra turn on healing on the switch in if I needed it. Surf is there for a nice strong water STAB move in the rain and in doubles works wonders with Toxicroaks Dry Skin.

Toxicroak ;454; @ Black Sludge
Dry Skin
252Att/252Spe
Jolly
Poison Jab
Drain Punch
Earthquake
Protect

A mix of a physical sweeper and Ludicolo. He actually works really well. Against slower pokemon I will use one of his stronger moves usually Poison Jab unless it's not very effective or the opponent flies or has levitate. Against Faster pokemon Drain Punch so I can heal after their attack and protect the next turn to regain even more health.

I'm running out of time but this part is simple. Max Speed and Attack along with Swift Swim and power boosting items that are STAB in the Rain and you have some super Sweepers.

Kingdra ;230; @ Choice Specs
Swift Swim
252SpA/252Spe
Modest
Surf
Dragon Pulse
Ice Beam
Signal Beam

Kabutops ;141; @ Life Orb
Swift Swim
252Att/252Spe
Adamant
Waterfall
Swords Dance
Stone Edge
Aerial Ace

Well there's my team. Please rate! Gtg for now see ya next time!

- Perish Song
- Ice Beam / Protect

Politoed can fill the support role so that it can survive longer in a battle, since it's the key of this team. You would always want to minimize speed, so that Politoed can always win the weather fight with opposing Weather abusers. Toxic is the way to stall. On the STAB choice, Scald is usually the prefered choice, but you can go with Surf for more power. Perish Song helps psuedo-switching, and you can hit the switch-in with Toxic. Ice Beam is the answer to Grass-types, and Protect helps Toxic stall as well as free Leftovers recovery.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers / Rocky Helmet
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Atk
Relaxed Nature
0 Speed IV
- Leech Seed
- Spikes
- Power Whip
- Gyro Ball
I think Ferrothorn is better in a Rain team than Forretress. It has better bulk, better attack, lower Speed, a great ability and Leech Seed.

Ludicolo ;272; @ Leftovers
Rain Dish
252 HP / 216 Def / 40 SpD
Bold
Surf / Scald
- Substitute
Leech Seed
Protect

Sucker Punch is great, it is the strongest priority in the game. Sword Dance to boost your attack. ICe Punch helps dealing with Gliscor and Garchomp.

Kingdra ;230; @ Choice Specs
Swift Swim
252SpA/252Spe
Modest
Surf
Dragon Pulse
Ice Beam
Signal Beam / Yawn
This guy looks solid.

Kabutops ;141; @ Life Orb
Swift Swim
252Att/252Spe
Jolly
Waterfall
Swords Dance
Stone Edge
- Return / Rapid Spin
Return provides neutral coverage, while Rapid Spin support can be great for your team.

WTF, NO RAIN DANCE???? WTF ARE YOU THINKING? ARE YOU RETARDED?!!!!111oneone??? plz tell me u r joking this team is piece of **** and would get bent over by my team and stuck up teh ass.

uh lol,..

also note that pelipper can get rain dish in dreamworld now.. I was thinking of using him in a drizzle team.. he could make an okay physical flier

EDIT for moveset i liked on pelipper as well
sky attack, gunk shot, seed bomb and maybe pursuit.. if you keep defense at 252 and maybe HP at 252 he could be nice as a recovering physical wall
unfortunately his base is not all that great but with drizzle he should keep himself up
possibly hurricane, a gen v move that is 100% accurate in rain i believe.

Thanks all for helping and Tentacruel is prob better than Pelipper as he has 120 SpD 100Spe and 80SpA. He has Rain Dish and can use Black Sludge and Giga Drain and learn Toxic Spikes, Venoshock and protect.

yes, i actually like tentacruel a lot.. but hurricane is rad because it knocks down fliers. hurricane would be better suited on a dragonite or something though..

This is a good one for Rain Dance:

Blastoise ;009; @ Leftovers
Rain Dish
252 HP // 76 Atk // 56 Def // 116 SpDef
Adamant
Aqua Ring
Rain Dance
Dragon Tail
Toxic

Basically an epic staller. Sets up Aqua Ring first turn, so he recovers a good chunk of HP each turn. Then he sets up Toxic.
Rain Dance is really useful if you're up against another weather team, and you need to set up Rain dance again because Politoed is KO.
Dragon Tail is a useful Phazing tool. A Very useful one too.
