rare start on normal emerald

when you start your game boy and you press start+select with adapter in the
game boy you will see :
english
some sort of japanese
press on of them
and you see
searching ...
there is nothing else whatever
please tell me what this is

I think it might be for the berry glitch in R/S.

no. its not. its when you have the wireless adapter o for emerald, but you have no game in, or you havent put the game in proprely, that screen comes up, with option of jap & english and a table heading gamelist and username and at the bottom of the screen it will say now searching and at the top it will have the gameboyadvance letters. I have no idea what its all about but I'm guessing it has something to do with the wireless adapter.

Nope. It's the GameBoy reading the Wireless Adapter but not recognizing the game. It happened to me at one point and I thought I might have accidentally deleted my game... Luckily all you have to do is push your cartridge in all the way, and voila.
