Rate my little brother's LeafGreen team

Hi…I hardly post here, but do you think you can rate my brother’s team? He’s only seven, so his team might not be too good. He’s in LeafGreen and has already defeated Brock and Misty, been on the S.S Anne and such. He’s going to battle Lt. Surge soon, after some more training, so here goes something:

Ryan/Butterfree – Lv. 20
Nature: Calm
Attacks:
-Tackle
-Confusion
-Supersonic
-Poisonpowder

Ryuhou/Pikachu – Lv. 20
Nature: Quiet
Attacks:
-Dig
-Slam
-Thundershock
-Quick Attack

Zane/Beedrill – Lv. 20
Nature: Careful
Attacks:
-Twineedle
-Fury Attack
-Cut
-Poison Sting

Amanda/Mankey – Lv. 21
Nature: Lax
Attacks:
-Low Kick
-Rock Tomb
-Karate Chop
-Brick Break

KC/Wartortle – Lv. 21
Nature: Hasty
Attacks:
-Bite
-Water Gun
-Water Pulse
-Bubble

Mary/Pidgeotto – Lv. 21
Nature: Gentle
Attacks:
-Gust
-Tackle
-Aerial Ace
-Quick Attack

Please tell me what you think.

I would say drop the two bugs pick up raticate and sandshrew/slash with

sandslash
-dig
-rock tomb

raticate
-hyper fang

Thanks for the comments. I've told him to get rid of them already, but he won't. I'll suggest those to him. Thanks again. ^___^

Pika Egg

Veteran newbie ^_^
I'm assuming he doesn't want to breed up any new team members so I'm going to avoid egg moves:

I actually like having Butterfree on my main team, especially with Sleep Powder (Yay for Compound Eyes!) and Silver Wind (Gets STAB and the occasional stat boost never hurts). He could also throw on Psychic or Giga Drain since its Sp.Att is better than its Attack.

Pikachu: I guess I'd say Thunder Wave over Slam and Thunderbolt over Thundershock of course. Oh, if he doesn't want to evolve it, then getting a Light Ball for it to hold wouldn't be a bad idea (Finding one will take some effort though). I guess Dig would be useful against other electrics and the occasional pure-poison type, and it might do a some damage to Rock types that dont have Earthquake or Magnitude. Now if Pika happens to have a powerful Hidden Power Water, Ice, or Grass...that could work quite well with a Light Ball...but that's all up to luck.

I'd recommend Haunter over Beedrill I guess (I've never really been a big fan of Beedrill or Raticate for my main party, and as much as I like Sandslash, I don't know if it's needed on this team). Then Haunter (eventually Gengar I assume) could have Confuse Ray, Psychic, Thunderbolt perhaps (Since Pika has the survivability of..well.. a Pika), and maybe something like Destiny Bond (but that might depend on how good he is at strategy, seeing as he's only seven)

Brick Break and Rock Tomb are good for Mankey/Primeape (Rock Slide is a bit better than Rock Tomb, but that's not available until much later in the game iirc). Then maybe throw in Earthquake and Aerial Ace for some type coverage.

Wartortle/Blastoise needs Surf. Ice Beam and Earthquake cover its weaknesses, and I guess he could throw in Hyrdo Cannon for novelty's sake ^_^

On Pidgeotto/Pidgeot, I'm guessing he'll want to have Fly for in-game use. Gust and Tackle are redundant with Aerial Ace and Quick Attack on there as well. Featherdance is a nice helper move, but again, it depends on how much strategy he can use. Steel Wing covers some weaknesses.

Hmm..I think I repeated some TM moves in my suggestions... but hopefully they help.

OMFG, thanks. You gave a lot of suggestions. I definitely have a talk with my brother on this. Major thanks. :D

This is weird... Drop the silly bug pokemon and pick up the Fire/Water/Electric or maybe Psychic type pokemon. Your brother needs BRAINS!

T-wave is a good move... UnforgivingSuicides moveset is the best possible for netbattle not for in-gaming though...

You seem to have made a mistake. Would you mind editing your post and replacing "a good" with "the best". Thanks.

While I'm here -

Blastoise - Leftovers
Hasty (or anything that doesn't hurt Atk or Sp Atk)

-Bite
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Body Slam

^Good for type coverage. I'm sure there are better sets though.

Wild Cherry

Magma Commander
I reckon this team is alright but get rid of the Beedrill, since butterfree can learn good moves like Psychic, replace the Beedrill with a Ninetales when he gets to that route, since good fire types are hard to come by. ;38;

Tackle? 3 fighting type attacks on mankey? 3 flying type moves on Pidgeotto?
Water Pulse and Hydro Pump? Surf> Those. Beedrill is useless. Ditch it for anything better.
