Okay, well this is going to be my last team for a while(by a while I mean like a week or two <_<) because I think I need to be practicing on Shoddy more. Basically I'm going to be practicing with this team, my last OU team, my first OU team which I still haven't posted, and my UU teams. This is a SandStorm team that might be really boring or not very good, your choice(if you can come up with more options that would be great ^_^;;) On with the team!!

hippowdon.png

Hippowdon@ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
Nature: Impish
EV spread: 172 Hp / 252 Def / 80 Atk
Moves:
- Stealth Rocks
- Earthquake
- Thunder Fang
- Slack Off
Desc.: I wanted to have Tyranitar here but since everyone and their mom uses Yanmega I thought that might not be a good idea. Basically I set up SR and yah, switch. The EV's let me have maximum Leftovers recovery, and allow me to do some nice damage to Yanmega and Gyarados who'll want to taunt me.

torterra.png

Torterra@ Leftovers
Ability: Overgrow
Nature: Impish
EV spread: 212 HP / 60 Def / 236 Spe
Moves:
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
Desc.: This thing is way too underrated and should probably be OU, USE HIM MORE PEOPLE!!! I don't know if you knew this but, he's the only one of two SubSeeders who get leftovers recover in sandstorm!(the other being ToxicOrbBreloom) So he basically plants his butt on the ground, subs up and starts harassing poke's with Leech Seed. EQ hurts stuff bad, especially Infernape on the switch in! Wood Hammer freaking destroys stuff with STAB 120 BP, epic.

vaporeon.png

Vaporeon@ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
Nature: Bold
EV spread: 124 Hp / 252 Def / 132 SDef
Moves:
- Wish
- Surf
- Hidden Power {Dragon}
- Protect
Desc.: This is my Infernape counter so he doesn't run through my team. With Wish support my team won't be dying anytime soon. HP{Dragon} lets me get Kingdra and all other poke's but steel types for neutral damage.

gengar.png

Gengar@ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid
EV spread: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 6 Hp
Moves:
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power {Fire}
Desc.: This guy comes in late-game after everyone is almost dead from residual damage. I wanted to have Hitmontop here since he seems more fun, but I could be wrong. Also the lack of a ghost type would make it easy for people to spin away my stuff. Shadow Ball for STAB and nice coverage, TBolt for destructive awesomeness. I have Energy Ball for Swampert and other grounds. Hidden Power {Fire} is for steels who would otherwise wall me and for Scizor. Gengar can always survive a non-SD Bullet Punch.

forretress.png

Forretress@ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
Nature: Relaxed
EV spread: 252 Hp / 96 Def / 162 SDef
Moves:
- Zap Cannon
- Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Explosion
Desc.: This is whom I switch in after Hippo is done SRing. He can take a bunch of hits from stuff while he Spikes up and if some spinner thinks he can come in then my Gengar will have to make his late-game sweep a little early. Once done I go B00M!!! Zap Cannon for Gyarados.

regirock.png

Regirock@ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
Nature: Careful
EV spread: 252 Hp / 6 Atk / 252 SDef
Moves:
- Rest
- Stone Edge
- Sleep Talk
- Ice Punch
Desc.: With SandStorm giving him a 50% special defense boost along with his gargantuan defense means he ain't dying any time soon. Stone Edge for STAB and Ice Punch for grounds and dragons. Also the Status Absorber.

So that's my team! Rate please and I will leave you guys alone for a while! So yeah, if you didn't catch on the team keeps piling on residual damage(Sand Storm, Spikes, SR, ToxicSpikes, Leech Seed) followed up by a crazy bulky wall(Regirock) and Wish support to keep my team alive. Then when I think the opponent has had enough I switch in Gengar and destroy. I wanted to test this team on Shoddy before I posted it but I can't right now and have school tomorrow so I'll see your thought first! ^_^ THANK YOU FOR RATING ALL OF MY TEAMS PEOPLE IT IS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!!

Problem: What if the enemy spinner is another Forry? I really don't see any point in hp fire on gengar. Focus blast will hit more and if you must not have that then hp fighting. Hp dragon on vaporeon since it hits everything but steels for normal damage AND takes out kindra. Gengar and Torterra can take care of enemy Gyrados.

Frost Nova

The predator awaits.
Consider Zap Cannon over T-Spikes on Forry: it 2KOs standard bulky Gyara with a neutral nature + no SAtk EVs, AND it can afford to miss. This way you can use HP [Dragon] on Vappy to deter Kingdra. Toxic Spikes is usually a bad idea seeing that you don't have a proper Heracross counter on your team.

Nothing to absorb status is somewhat worrying.

Imba set-up, would use that too, perhaps an Ice Fang for Dragons, like Garchomp perhaps? He'll have a rough time dealing with Hippowdon 1 on 1 with those defences etc.

Wish is nice, but not needed here I guess, maybe a Kabutops or Whiscash as a Infernape counter? Taken in account that Vaporeon is getting hurt by sandstorm, not that it's much, but still.

Nice but almost everyone uses Gengar hehe, seems people cant without. Would be more 'exciting' if here comes an other Pokémon which isn't thát overused but still nice. Thats just my opinion.

Well as said before, it seems to me you have your tactics all sorted out, but I think,if someone manages to disturb these you might be screwed. Maybe less tacs, more sweeping. This is all coming from a casual-pokemon-gamer,dont know that much about this as you can see, but I dont like the OverUse of OU etc. So thats why I dont like Gengar hehe.

Seeing as you don't really know what you're doing(Garchomp being banned, Whischash sucking really bad even in UU) I'm not sure you should be going around rating peoples competitive teams!! Sorry If I seem kinda harsh but I don't deal with n00bs very well ><

So what if the spinner is another forry? What does that do? Are you thinking about GyroBall? Or him setting up on me? That's why HP{Fire} is there, it also gets the too common Scizor.

Consider Zap Cannon over T-Spikes on Forry: it 2KOs standard bulky Gyara with a neutral nature + no SAtk EVs, AND it can afford to miss. This way you can use HP [Dragon] on Vappy to deter Kingdra. ZapCannon Forry sounds beyond fun, just wasn't sure it was worth it and all these people running around screaming 'Toxic Spikes are the essence to a stall team!!' I wasn't sure if they were right or not. Will change on Vaporeon.
At first I wanted to use a ResTalkRegirock, but then I saw the stats of the Curse set, oh well I'll change it anyway. Thank you for the rates!

Oh yea very cool , I dont give a fucrapck that I am 'n00b', you also take it too seriously, do you really think I don't wanna have teams so I can win? Even casual gamers want competitive teams we just ehm, yea, we have a LIFE and dont let Pokémon get to our heads like immature people like you do. It's not 'cool' if you're good at Pokémon or something. We'll talk again if you're good in something in real life, something that can help you in life, Pokémon, unfortunately can not. How old are you, 12? If you're much older you should be ashamed that you take this game so seriously. It's not like Casual gamers only game against NPC's and not through WiFi.

I'm 13 thank you very much! And I know its not 'cool' to be good awesome at pokemon, its actually frowned upon to play pokemon where I am, that's why I don't go around screaming 'I'm a pokemon freak!!' And yes, I'm sorry that I offended you. I was wrong, instead of screaming at you for being a n00b I should've calmly explained to you that Garchomp is banned therefore IceFang is of no use and that Vaporeon is there to counter Infernape and if I replaced it with Wiscash then Infernape could just Grass Knot it away, and that I wanted to use something else instead of Gengar but I needed something to block rapid spin and something that was fast enough to clean up, he just happened to fit those in those categories. I will try not to be so harsh, but you need to learn some things too! Being casual is okay(I was casual for the longest time) but only for asking questions, not so much for giving answers. Now if its something that's totally obvious like Leech Life is on a Beedrill or something you could say 'Hey, that's a crappy move on a crappy pokemon! Change it, you can use: instead' but you probably shouldn't be going around giving everyone advice and using the excuse 'I'm casual' if the advice doesn't work. Of course if you're casual and you ask a question then people will be more than happy to rate your team and give you competitive advice while you can still retain your casual trainer mind-set. So sorry that I offended you and I hope that you will take my advice.

So, does anyone else have any suggestions for this team?

Ahem. Back on topic.

For Torterra, SubSeeders in general shouldn't have a great investment in HP so that Leech Seed will recover a greater percentage of your HP each time it works its magic. That gives you a quicker recovery time to put up another sub, and so on and so forth. You might also want to switch Wood Hammer with either Seed Bomb if you want to keep STAB or Stone Edge otherwise. Having recoil totally defeats the purpose of SubSeeding.

Focus Blast over HP Fire on Gengar. I know what you're thinking, but you're just giving Heatran free entry. With all the Heatran running around, you can trade accuracy for power here.

Hippowdon@ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
Nature: Impish
EV spread: 172 Hp / 252 Def / 80 Atk
Moves:

Seems like a solid starter. Keep it the way it is.

torterra.png

Torterra@ Leftovers
Ability: Overgrow
Nature: Impish
EV spread: 252 Hp / 252 Def / 6 Atk
Moves:
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Earthquake
- Wood Hammer
Desc.: This thing is way too unde and should probably be OU, USE HIM MORE PEOPLE!!!

Dude I would Actually run 252 Attack, 252 Def, and 6 HP. You want pretty good attack if you got sub up. And Torterra already has good HP but if you want more hp go with 129 to attack and HP. Other then that looks good.

vaporeon.png

Vaporeon@ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
Nature: Bold
EV spread: 124 Hp / 252 Def / 132 SDef
Moves:
- Wish
- Surf
- Hidden Power {Dragon}
- Protect
Desc.: This is my Infernape counter so he doesn't run through my team. With Wish support my team won't be dying anytime soon. HP{Dragon} lets me get Kingdra and all other poke's but steel types for neutral damage.

Run Acid Armor not HP or go with a sub and go with 252 spec def, 129 HP/252 HP, 6 Def/129 Def.

gengar.png

Gengar@ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid
EV spread: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 6 Hp
Moves:
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power {Fire}

Ok Go with Focus Blast may not hit as much but will do more damage then HP fire would.

forretress.png

Forretress@ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
Nature: Relaxed
EV spread: 252 Hp / 96 Def / 162 SDef
Moves:
- Zap Cannon
- Spikes
- Rapid Spin

Desc.: This is whom I switch in after Hippo is done SRing. He can take a bunch of hits from stuff while he Spikes up and if some spinner thinks he can come in then my Gengar will have to make his late-game sweep a little early. Once done I go B00M!!! Zap Cannon for Gyarados.

Zap cannon is risky if gyra can set up your screwed but other then that It looks good.
regirock.png

Regirock@ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
Nature: Careful
EV spread: 252 Hp / 6 Atk / 252 SDef
Moves:
- Rest
- Stone Edge
- Sleep Talk
- Ice Punch
Desc.: With SandStorm giving him a 50% special defense boost along with his gargantuan defense means he ain't dying any time soon. Stone Edge for STAB and Ice Punch for grounds and dragons. Also the Status Absorber.

Looks good. Nice job.

What does Acid Armor accomplish since Vaporeon is not a passer? Could you explain the EV's to me and what they're supposed to accomplish?

All of my changes are in Purple and in Bold.
Yes I noticed, next time just use bold you hurt my eyes @_@;;

I see your point, will switch Wood Hammer for Stone Edge and I'll dump the Hp EV's into Attack.

Heatran cannot really do much to his team thanks to Vaporeon and Regirock.

So does that mean I should keep HP{Fire}?

@Frost Nova: I swear, you have access to the funniest pics. ever.

Also, my n00b toleration meter overheated when I apologized to that guy, so I won't be doing that anymore. Now when i post a team I now have to say 'All non-n00b and non-casual-gamer advice is appreciated' >_< I still don't get the point of a casual being in the COMPETITIVE forum >_>

Dude for one keep wood hammer you get 1 .25 STAB Bonus to it.

Putting def EV's into a Vapor is useless it has Spec def, Spec atk, and HP as it's best stats. So if you still wish to have def EV's get acid armor. It will help boltser def to prevent any massive damage and health loss.

Like dude man, but wood hammer chops of a ton of my health and is resisted by 14 types! Also, Vaporeon is one of those exceptions where for some reason its best if you stick defense EV's in it. And without Hp{Dragon} Kingdra walks all over me plus Acid Armor isn't doing me all that much since I'm not passing.

Thank you , and I am sorry, I overreacted myself, I just get triggered rather easily especially by immature responses. I forgot that Garchomp was banned too and I just made a wild guess with Whiscash. Also even advice from people like me are appreciated if you'd ask me, anything could help ya know. And I'm casual because I don't want to get addicted again to something like WoW, which cut out a big chunk of my social life: 3 years, so I try to stay casual but with a competitative mindset. Ofcourse I wanna win and all that, but sometimes people give me advices that are stupid. Like Espeon is worthless etc. But I'm not gonna do Pokémon Tournaments, just some PBR and random battles etc. I think my Espeon build was rather good really, only against people that abuse Smogon movesets etc it's nothing. Yes, Smogon works but it's boring if everyone has the same Adamant Heracross etc etc.

Yah, wildguesses aren't such a good idea *points to Frost Nova's picture* And its okay to be casual, just don't give advice and don't get mad when people don't want your 'casual' advice k? So yah, my mercy/n00b meter is down to 0 again, have to wait another year before it goes up to 1 >_<

only 1/4 of damage dealth but with your high def, sub, leech seed and lefites you would be able to live and take back the damage dealt to yourself. But again def will not help vapor. It is a spec wall not a def wall.
