Well..hey everyone! I have already beat the champion and elite four and pretty much all the trainers in game so I think ima try my hand at casual online battling. I never tried it in Pearl, HGold, or Platinum but I was doing random matchups today and had fun with them. Anyway here is my team that I use and any moveset or hold item suggestions would be welcome. I was always to lazy to ev train to they arent ev trained at just have whatever nature they have, but I will put there natures on there for you guys to see as well in case they make a huge difference.

Excadrill
Ability:Sand Rush
Nature:Serious

Rock Slide
Sword Dance
X-Scissor
Earthquake

Gyarados
Ability:Intimidate
Nature:Impish

Ice Fang
Dragon Dance
Aqua Tail
Earthquake

Flygon
Ability:Levitate
Nature:Gentle

Stone Edge
Fly (For ingame purposes)
Dragon Claw
Earthquake

Leavanny
Ability:Chlorophyll
Nature:Relaxed

Shadow Claw
Grass Knot
X-Scissor
Leaf Blade

Earthquake

Reuniclus (May Be Replacing With A Chandelure)

Excadrill
Ability:Sand Rush
Nature:Jolly

Rock Slide
Sword Dance
X-Scissor
Earthquake

Solid.

Gyarados
Ability:Intimidate
Nature:Adamant/Jolly

Ice Fang
Dragon Dance
Aqua Tail
Earthquake

Solid.

Flygon
Ability:Levitate
Nature:Adamant

Stone Edge/Rock Slide
U-Turn
Dragon Claw
Earthquake

Not a Flygon expert, mind.

Leavanny
Ability:Chlorophyll/
Nature:Adamant

Return
Swords Dance
X-Scissor
Leaf Blade

Its defenses are OK enough to pull of a Swords Dance.

Darmanitan
Ability:Sheer Force
Nature:Jolly

Fire Punch
Hammer Arm
Stone Edge/Rock Slide
Earthquake

Solid. Rock Slide is a higher accuracy, less powerful alternative to Stone Edge.

Reuniclus (May Be Replacing With A Chandelure)
Ability:Overcoat
Nature: Bold

Calm Mind
Focus Blast

Shadow Ball
Psychic

Fight/Ghost/Psychic hits everything in the game for neutral irc. It's bulky enough to pull off Calm Mind. Bold can boost his eh defense.

Comments in bold.
Natures or abilities are optimum but not mandatory.

Hello. This is the first time I've ever even looked at an ingame rmt. Natures do make a big difference, they lower 1 stat by 10% and increase another by 10% which can be the difference between a win and a loss. As you say you want to get into competitive I suggest you start using a simulator such as pokemon online as it's far quicker to make teams than in the standard games. If you have any questions about the competitive metagame don't hesitate to ask. Now onto what I can say about this team.

As you are running an excadrill you NEED to use either tyranitar or hippiedom somewhere on the team for permanent sand. Excadrill should also run an adamant nature with the item balloon. Move him away from the lead role and remember the main rule of sweeper pokemon. Make sure before you bring him in, that nothing can stop you from sweeping their team. Set up one swords dance and your good too go.

Gyarados needs to be jolly as previously mentioned. A better moveset would be.

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: intimidate
Nature: Jolly
Moves:
-Taunt
-Dragon dance
-Waterfall
-Stone edge

This is an excellent pokemon for beating common Walls and clearing the way for excadrill to sweep.

Flygon needs a choice scarf and it's good to go with gallades alterations.

Leavanny. The teams weak link. This should be replaced with tyranitar. Maybe a banded or mix attacking variant with leftovers.

Tyranitar @ choice band
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Sand stream
Moves:
-Aqua tail
-Earthquake
-Stone edge
-Pursuit

Or

Tyranitar @ leftovers
Nature: mild
Ability: Sand stream
Moves:
-Substitute
-Focus punch
-Ice beam/thunderbolt/flamethrower
-Dark pulse

After these alterations chandelure now fits better than reuniclus I suggest.

Chandelure @ Choice scarf
Nature: Timid
Ability: Shadow tag/flash fire if shadow tag is unobtainable
Moves:
-Overheat
-Shadow ball
-Energy ball
-Hidden power [ice] / Fire blast

This set is perfect for taking on anything that can impede excadrills sweep. Overheat is required to ko conkeldurr this set is also the best revenge killer in the game at the moment as no pokemon can switch out against.

I also suggest getting rid if flygon in my oppinion and replacing it with something like metagross or something else that can set up stealth rocks and using it as a lead.

Btw I rated this team with a semi competitive mindset.
