Hi, I'm new to this board, and I'm just looking for some constructive criticism for my team for JAA. It was originally intended to beat the crap out of Legendaries because they're for cheap-*** losers. Hence the name Team Mythbuster.
HP = HP, At = Attack, Df = Defense, Sp = Speed, SA = Sp.Atk, SD = Sp.Def

Lapras "Nessie"
Modest. Water Absorb.
Leftovers
EVs: 252 Sp, 252 SA, 4 HP
~ Ice Beam
~ Thunderbolt
~ Hydro Pump
~ Confuse Ray
This Lapras is a true Mythbuster, being able to crush Groudon and Rayquaza easily, and in theory, it could work against Kyogre. Its Hydro Pump and Ice Beam can also take out many other Pokemon, like Exeggutor, Moltres, and TTar (Well, these are mainly theories.). I would use Surf with it, but JAA is a Double Battle tourney. In Doubles, HyP > Surf.

Snorlax "Big Boi"
Adamant. Immunity.
Chesto Berry
EVs: 252 HP, 252 At, 4 Df
~ Body Slam
~ Shadow Ball
~ Rest
~ Curse
Spin-off of Curselax. I chose this Pokemon to be the "anti-Mew2" of the team (and Alakazam and other Psychics and Ghosts also fall to Cursed SB). With such a high SD stat and the move Shadow Ball, it's the ideal "Mindcrusher," if you will (Mindcrusher = anti-Psychic).

Salamence "Ryu"
Adamant. Intimidate.
Lum Berry
EVs: 252 Sp, 252 SD, 4 At
~ Dragon Dance
~ Aerial Ace
~ Brick Break
~ Earthquake
Dancing Salamence. Fighting-types are supposed to kneel before Sala and beg for sweet mercy. Lum Berry makes it especially useful against those damn Brelooms. If it weren't for Intimidate, I might have chosen a different flyer, because usually I'm a little scared to use flying dragons (a team w/out an Ice-type is a little stupid). Brick Break, however, helps it deal with Ice-types (possibly even Regice, the special wall.)

Donphan "Axel"
Impish. Sturdy
Liechi Berry
EVs: 252 SD, 172 At, 84 Sp
~ Earthquake
~ Rock Slide
~ Rapid Spin
~ Hidden Bug
Not so much worried about Speed here. I wanted to try this one out just for the heck of it. It has great power, sturdy Df, and it can knock away those annoying spikes. I might want a different item, though. (Don't even have a Liechi Berry in a game.)

Jolteon "Denkou"
Timid. Volt Absorb
Petaya Berry
EVs: 252 Sp, 128 Df, 128 SA
~ Thunderbolt
~ Hidden Ice
~ Thunder Wave
~ Baton Pass
I like Electric types, but it was sad that the best ones, like Jolteon, didn't come until FRLG. It's a minor Boltbeamer w/ HP Ice, and it can paralyze. Baton Pass is more of a situational move, namely Dugtrio w/Arena Trap. I could use Substitute instead (but it seems overused); what do you think? Can surprise incoming Sala and Ground-types.

Gengar "Shadow"
Timid. Levitate
Leftovers
EVs: 252 Sp, 252 SA, 4 HP
~ Psychic
~ Giga Drain
~ Ice Punch
~ Hidden Dark
First let me just say that Subpunching Gengar SUXS *****. I know; I've tried it on Netbattle. Basically, this one is to fill a few holes left by the rest of the team, such as fighting Weezings and Swamperts. It's also immune to Explosion and Earthquake (good partner w/ Donphan and Salamence).

If any of these Pokemon seem bad, I'd like to hear suggestions for different movesets. Heck, if you suggest entirely different Pokemon, I wouldn't mind. I feel good about most of them, but a different Quaker could replace Donphan (i.e. Swampert or Tyranitar), and something else could take Gengar's place (i.e. I don't know). But no Legendaries, and no Blissey.

Spin-Off,? that is Curselax with really bad Evs

this team will get nowhere in JAA.

ok

SelfDestruct Snorlax / Rayquaza / Groudon and Mewtwo are common at JAA

you have nothing against a well played SelfDestruct lax, they will shadow ball your gengar switch and then are free to blow up on anything it wants. Using protect on some pokemon seriously helps as exploding any pokemon is a pretty big part of JAA.

Mewtwo will rip through every pokemon except snorlax. even then you can't ohko it with snorlaxes shadow ball even with one curse, by then it'll have done serious damage.

That salamence won't be that helpful tbh, it won't get the chance to dragon dance up as JAA is so fast paced, stat uppers are pretty hard to get going in JAA.

also a starting two of; Snorlax and Mewtwo / Kyogre beats this team 100% of the time. using a team of non-ubers won't get you far against anyone who knows what they are doing, they have uber status for a reason, reason being non-uber pokemon just can't handle them.

New ideas for the Mythbusters

Maybe this could help:

Lapras: Protect > Confuse Ray
Snorlax: any suggestions for EV balance?
Jolteon: Baton Pass < Substitue

Maybe instead of Salamence, I could try:
Heracross "Heracles"
Jolly. Swarm.
Salac Berry.
EVs: 252 At, 128 Sp, 128 Df
Megahorn
Brick Break
Rock Slide
Protect

Gengar or Donphan could be replaced by a more DEfensive Pokemon, like
Claydol "Totem"
Bold / Calm. Levitate.
Ganlon Berry (if Calm) / Apicot Berry (if Bold).
EVs: 168 HP, 168 Df, 168 SD
Reflect
Light Screen
Rapid Spin
Ice Beam (to catch wayward Salamence)

Since Donphan and Claydol are both Ground, maybe instead of Donphan, try
Alakazam "David"
Bold (It's good, but Df is low, sadly). Synchronize.
Lum Berry
EVs: 252 SP / 192 Df / 64 SA
Psychic
Fire Punch (deals w/ Steels like Skarm)
Thunderpunch (anti-flyer, anti-Kyogre)
Protect

Or I could try this instead.
Swampert "Mr. Marsh"
Careful. Torrent.
Brightpowder
Earthquake
Hidden Flying
Protect
Mirror Coat

Any better now? COme on, shred me! (And tell me why I'm being shredded, for God's sake, DragonDance!)

put endure > protect on heracross, with reversal > brick break

and use 252 attack / 252 speed / 6 whatever

then endure an explosion and megahorn a mewtwo / rock slide a rayquaza / reversal a kyogre/groudon or something

Mythbusters, Take 2. Action!!!

Geez, so this competition is so serious that people are willing to suffer through XD to teach Snorlax (or MewTwo) SD. I need to fix my Pokemon up for this. Here's what I have so far:

Lapras "Nessie"
Modest. Water Absorb.
Leftovers.
EVs: 252 Sp, 252 SA, 4 HP
Hydro Pump
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Protect
It's still here as a hopeful anti-Groudon. 285 base Ice Beam can still hurt even in sunlight, and 570 base on idiots with flying Dragons. Protect > Confuse Ray in case of SD or EQ.

Snorlax "Big Boi"
Adamant. Thick Fat.
Chesto Berry.
EVs: 252 HP, 252 SD, 4 At
Shadow Ball
Body Slam
Protect
Rest
Still a threat to MewTwo. SB for Psychics and Ghosts, and Body Slam can be annoying. May revert to Curse from Protect; I can't play too defensively, or I can't fight. Rest-o Combo if Lax is down. Thick Fat is for possible Flamethrowers or Ice Beams that he can block.

Heracross "Heracles"
Jolly. Swarm.
Salac Berry.
EVs: 252 Sp, 252 At, 4 HP
Reversal
Megahorn
Endure
Rock Slide
Thx for the help, nooblet. Endure Explosion / Self-Destruct, then go wild. Swarm boosts Megahorn, so MewTwo can go to Hell and die. Reversal for other strong ones, and even non-explosive Snorlax. RS for flyers, which Hera is weak to. (The Red Dragons* will fall, and they won't see it coming!)
*By "Red Dragon," I mean Charizard. He can't take a Rock Slide!

Jolteon "Denkou"
Timid. Volt Absorb.
Lum Berry.
EVs: 252 SA, 252 Sp, 4 Df
Thunderbolt
Hidden Ice
Thunder Wave
Protect
I still like Electric Pokemon. Perhaps Thunder > TBolt to kill Kyogre. TWave is still here because paralysis is useful, and HP Ice can help against Groudon / Sala / RayQ. I personally don't like the move Substitute period, so Protect, I guess.

I am 85% - 90% positive on these Pokemon, but I'm still trying to figure out the last two spots. You only need four Pokemon to Double Battle, but the same ones over and over can be ridiculous, so here are possible fillers for the last two.

Skarmory "Blade"
Careful. Keen Eye.
Lax Incense.
EVs: 252 At, 252 SD, 4 Sp
Steel Wing
Drill Peck
Spikes
Roar
Okay, I made this one up on the fly. This one is more about dealing damage than the Spikes-Roar combo. It probably won't last long against MewTwo or Kyogre, but it has its potential. I don't care if you shred this one or if you like it; maybe try something else.

Swampert "Mr. Marsh"
Adamant. Torrent.
Bright Powder.
EVs: 252 At, 64 Sp, 192 SD
Earthquake
Hidden Flying
Protect
Mirror Coat
HP Flying for Grass, in case of Exeggutor or something. Protect for SD and EQ, while using EQ for STAB. Kyogre must cause problems, so boosted SD and Mirror Coat help fight it. Possibility, but not certain.

Send in the Scyther; I'm ready to be slashed.

Self-Destruct can go on snorlax as rest is just heavy bait even with chesto berry imo.

Still going nowhere with that team.
Its an uber tourney for crying out loud!

These are pretty much stapled to a serious JAA team; consider them
Kyogre/Groudon
Chlorophyllist/Swift Swimmer
Mewtwo

Skarmory WILL die. This isn't 1v1.
Also, I suggest you run SD on Lax, so you can do a ton of damage. Especially when its paired up with Heracross.
Swampert doesn't do much, Ludicolo/Shiftry/Kyogre, etc are everywhere and will shut Swampert down.
Groudon with Swords Dance/Endure/EQ/Rock Slide @ Salac Berry will tear this team quickly if its paired with Ho-Oh

Yeah, I didn't think Skar was too good. Bye bye Birdie.
;227; : AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRR!!! WHYYYYYYYYYY!?!?!? (Jolteon used Thunder. Skar fainted.)

Chlorophyllist / Swift Swimmer

You know, that makes sense. Finally, a good tip. Sorry, Lapras, you're out.
;131;: Laaa... ;_; ;rukario;: Nothing personal, I just need one who can Swift Swim. ;131;: ... ... ... La. Lapras. ;rukario;: I'm glad you understand.

Maybe this would work better than Lapras:
Kingdra "Tsunami"
Modest. Swift Swim.
Leftovers.
EVs: 252 Sp, 252 SA, 4 HP
Hydro Pump
Ice Beam
Mimic / Hidden Electric
Protect
I'm bound to see a Kyogre in here, so Protect > Rain Dance. Mimic can be used to copy Kyogre's Thunder (or my Jolteon's Thunder for that matter), and hopefully I can blow it out of the water. Swift Swim helps get the jump on it.

And instead of Skar, I could try:
Shiftry "Prof. Oak"
Timid. Chlorophyll.
Lax Incense.
EVs: 252 Sp, 252 SA, 4 HP
Solarbeam
HP Fire
Protect
Faint Attack
No need for an anti-Groudon to have Sunny Day thx to Groudon's Drought. Solarbeam ought to deal heavy damage to it if not kill it. Use this in Kingdra's place if Groudon's presence is stronger. Faint Attack is filler for STAB; any suggestions for a different 4th move?

I'll have to consider the last slot...

SO in the end, Shiftry would go like this:
Shiftry @ Hax item
Trait: Clorophyll
Mild Nature (+SAtk, -Def)
EVs: Enough for at least 198 speed (stat). You won't be finding faster guys other than Mewtwo bar other Clorohyllists/Swift Swimmer. 210 Speed outruns Exeggutor if that helps (stat), so you can uhhh.......blow up on it before it goes on with its powders. Split the remaining into Attack and Special attack.
- Fake Out
- Explosion
- Solarbeam
- Protect/Shadow Ball

and Ludicolo>>Kingdra because it can Fake Out and resists Earthquake, although obviously it dies to Rayquaza.

Okay, how about this Ludicolo?

Ludicolo "Cucaracha"
Jolly. Swift Swim.
Leftovers.
EVs: 192 SP, 104 SD, 104 Df, 52 At, 52 SA (I'm in a hurry right now.)
Fake Out
Hidden Grass (Best besides Leech Seed I could come up with... :( )
Hydro Pump
Ice Beam (You never know. It COULD help against RayQ.)

But on Shiftry, why SB over HP Fire? HP Fire can deal extra damage w/ Sunlight, and it could help against occasional Exeggutor. (has revelation) Is SB to combine the jobs of HP Fire and Faint Attack?

Edit: erased Leech Seed, wrote in Hidden Grass.

leech seed doesn't work in 2v2 as they will hit you too hard

I think people who use ubers period are ***gots. That's why I'm trying to build an anti-Uber team. Thx for agreeing w/ me, X Factor, but would you happen to have any advice for my team while you're here?

Let's see, Curselax, Endureversacross, Jolteon, Landbreaker Shiftry, and Seabender Ludicolo. Can't figure out slot 6, but do I even need it?

There's no problem with uber vs uber battles aka the uber metagame so don't go flinging **** at people like that. the people who use ubers vs standard teams are just new =/
