Hi, I'm new to this board, and I'm just looking for some constructive criticism for my team for JAA. It was originally intended to beat the crap out of Legendaries because they're for cheap-*** losers. Hence the name Team Mythbuster.
HP = HP, At = Attack, Df = Defense, Sp = Speed, SA = Sp.Atk, SD = Sp.Def
Lapras "Nessie"
Modest. Water Absorb.
Leftovers
EVs: 252 Sp, 252 SA, 4 HP
~ Ice Beam
~ Thunderbolt
~ Hydro Pump
~ Confuse Ray
This Lapras is a true Mythbuster, being able to crush Groudon and Rayquaza easily, and in theory, it could work against Kyogre. Its Hydro Pump and Ice Beam can also take out many other Pokemon, like Exeggutor, Moltres, and TTar (Well, these are mainly theories.). I would use Surf with it, but JAA is a Double Battle tourney. In Doubles, HyP > Surf.
Snorlax "Big Boi"
Adamant. Immunity.
Chesto Berry
EVs: 252 HP, 252 At, 4 Df
~ Body Slam
~ Shadow Ball
~ Rest
~ Curse
Spin-off of Curselax. I chose this Pokemon to be the "anti-Mew2" of the team (and Alakazam and other Psychics and Ghosts also fall to Cursed SB). With such a high SD stat and the move Shadow Ball, it's the ideal "Mindcrusher," if you will (Mindcrusher = anti-Psychic).
Salamence "Ryu"
Adamant. Intimidate.
Lum Berry
EVs: 252 Sp, 252 SD, 4 At
~ Dragon Dance
~ Aerial Ace
~ Brick Break
~ Earthquake
Dancing Salamence. Fighting-types are supposed to kneel before Sala and beg for sweet mercy. Lum Berry makes it especially useful against those damn Brelooms. If it weren't for Intimidate, I might have chosen a different flyer, because usually I'm a little scared to use flying dragons (a team w/out an Ice-type is a little stupid). Brick Break, however, helps it deal with Ice-types (possibly even Regice, the special wall.)
Donphan "Axel"
Impish. Sturdy
Liechi Berry
EVs: 252 SD, 172 At, 84 Sp
~ Earthquake
~ Rock Slide
~ Rapid Spin
~ Hidden Bug
Not so much worried about Speed here. I wanted to try this one out just for the heck of it. It has great power, sturdy Df, and it can knock away those annoying spikes. I might want a different item, though. (Don't even have a Liechi Berry in a game.)
Jolteon "Denkou"
Timid. Volt Absorb
Petaya Berry
EVs: 252 Sp, 128 Df, 128 SA
~ Thunderbolt
~ Hidden Ice
~ Thunder Wave
~ Baton Pass
I like Electric types, but it was sad that the best ones, like Jolteon, didn't come until FRLG. It's a minor Boltbeamer w/ HP Ice, and it can paralyze. Baton Pass is more of a situational move, namely Dugtrio w/Arena Trap. I could use Substitute instead (but it seems overused); what do you think? Can surprise incoming Sala and Ground-types.
Gengar "Shadow"
Timid. Levitate
Leftovers
EVs: 252 Sp, 252 SA, 4 HP
~ Psychic
~ Giga Drain
~ Ice Punch
~ Hidden Dark
First let me just say that Subpunching Gengar SUXS *****. I know; I've tried it on Netbattle. Basically, this one is to fill a few holes left by the rest of the team, such as fighting Weezings and Swamperts. It's also immune to Explosion and Earthquake (good partner w/ Donphan and Salamence).
If any of these Pokemon seem bad, I'd like to hear suggestions for different movesets. Heck, if you suggest entirely different Pokemon, I wouldn't mind. I feel good about most of them, but a different Quaker could replace Donphan (i.e. Swampert or Tyranitar), and something else could take Gengar's place (i.e. I don't know). But no Legendaries, and no Blissey.
