First may I point out the sheer ridiculousness of this poll. Lugia and Rayquaza would never even meet, let alone have a fight to the death. Lugia lives under the oceans, while Rayquaza lives very high up in the atmosphere.
Secondly, Lugia would beat Rayquaza, get his mate Mew to resurrect him and then beat him again just for fun.

Hmmm. . . I dunno, I admit I think that Rayquaza would have a chance. Yes there's a bit of a type disadvantage, as well as Lugia's Ice Beam attack, but c'mon. . . Rayquaza would not be a legendary pokemon if it would fall under one hit, no matter how large the disadvantage it had.

I just finished raising my perfect beautiful Lugia to level 100 yesterday, so I can confidantly say that Rayquaza falls to one Ice Beam from Lugia, with or without any Calm Minds. Lugia is probably the most powerful Pokemon in existence, because it has much more staying power than Mewtwo, and it resists Earthquake.

Nevertheless, that's still not going to stop me from raising my perfect beautiful Rayquaza to level 100...

I vote for Lugia. Rayquaza is a good pokemon but Lugia is way better. Plus Lugia can KO Rayquaza with Aeroblast. Plus It has more defense and special defense then Rayquaza.

Lugia, actually. But not without CBQuaza beating the royal crap out of it first. Rayquaza's got bloody high HP, and its Sp. Defense isn't that bad. That's a 2HKO in my eyes. Which leaves Rayquaza enough time to give it a CB Rock Slide and thrash it within an inch of death. So, yeah, lugia would win, but it's not going to want to stay in afterward,e specially if Mewtwo comes along to finish it off.

CBQuaza CH? Gfg Lugia. But that's about the only way Rayquaza would win, as Lugia is much faster and will land the second blow before Rayquaza lands its second.

Kinda funny how this Poll pits my two favorite Ubers against each other =/

Lugia is an awesome tank and unless it's a CB critical Lugia will pretty much kill it with some Ice Beams.
