Ok here's the deal: i'm saving my masterball for Lati@s so how do i catch rayquaza? ;384; It always gets out of the pokeballs I throw....the more balls I throw the faster it gets out....which ball should I use???

Freeze it with a pokemon that knows ice attacks, preferably ice beam. Then use Timer Balls.

i just use something with awesome tankish defenses and a sleep move. put it to sleep, damage it, then chuck balls. if it wakes up, sleep it again. if it rests, your job is done for you and you just damage it again.

the last few times, i used a gardevoir and a venusaur as tanks. also, if you can have a friend trade one to you and trade back, repeat balls are much better than ultra balls.

I waited patiently and got a Rayquaza with a Sp. Atk. of 281 at Lv. 70.
wow, that's really awesome. especially since a modest rayquaza with flawless SpAtk will only have 259 at level 70.

You should have:

  • A Smeargle with Spore/Flase Swipe/Super Fang
  • A Slowking with Skill Swap/Own Tempo (for Outrage)
  • Preferably another resilient False Swiper with good Attack (since Smeargle may have a hard time staying alive on its own)
  • At least 30 Repeat Balls (if you can get it into your dex by trading); otherwise, at least 20 Ultra Balls
  • At least 100 Timer Balls
  • If you're feeling adventurous, bring along 100 Premier/Luxury Balls.

Also, don't waste your Master Ball on Lati@s; save it for a fleeing shiny.

I got Rayquaza the same as I do every Legendary bar Lati@s... put them to sleep, whittle their health into the red and have an Ultra Ball flinging frenzy.

That's what I do...

I just used Bite on Latias each time I found it, then eventually used Thunder Wave, and caught it with an Ultra Ball. Simple really.

Get alot of ultra and timer balls. I caught my Rayquaza who had 1/2 hp left and had no status condition with my first ultra ball I threw at it

lolforumz.
the timer ball has always worked wonders for me in terms of rayquaza, i dont even bother with ultra balls on him anymore. make sure your team can take a beating, and stall like crazy, it'll pay off, :D

My precious!
I caught it with an ultra ball, so bring alot of ultras

Basically, if you're lazy like me, just save in front of it, dwindle it's HP down to the yellow or red (I personally find that the yellow works well for me... don't ask why) and toss Ultra Balls like crazy. If you're worried about it fainting your Pokemon, bring along a handy-dandy Pikachu (or something like that) to paralyze it.

I caught mine with an Ultra Ball also, took awhile and had to save the game before battling it. I used false swipe on it then kept at him, finally caught him but it was worth it. Good luck!

I've noticed that too. o___0; It's really all a matter of luck. If it keeps popping out though, use stuff like Screech or other stat-reducing moves. It helps for me.
