Real-world places you’d like to see as Pokémon regions

Is that why there's a desert immediately north of what's supposed to be Manhattan?

Probably. It's understandable why they'd do that and not be completely realistic. Since it would be boring to have a region that only consits of Cities & Forests.

Yeah basically just shoehorn every cultural reference they can into one small region. Kalos did it too.

But apart from Alola the regions do tend to get repetitive, so that’s why I think an Amazonian theme would be so different because it’s not just town after town with a grass route between them. They could still do remote desert/snow/city/water areas like every region needs because they do have those places in South America. But only on the outskirts or on little islands or coasts

Probably also the same reason why Galar's geography is a direct reversal of Great Britain's. London's Pokémon world equivalent is in northern Galar, when in real life it's in the south.

I have been wanting to see Africa turned into a region for SOOO long. It has everything there. Beautiful cities, vast deserts, jungles, beaches, savannas, mountains, lakes, etc... plus it would give a chance for the more exotic Pokemon to stand out like Tropius, Maractus, Girafarig, etc...

The possible new Pokemon in an African region excites me so much!

I hope this is what we get in Gen 9.

Yeah, a Madagascar/Africa Pokémon location would definitely be cool.

    Australia
    Alaska/Canada
    Indonesia
    Northern Eurasia

    Are also on my list

Amazon! That would be super cool. If not that then Africa or Australia I suppose.

No it isn't. It's based on Northern & Central France.

I want a region based on Germany. I call it, the Doitsch region.

The Doitsu region, if you wanna go all Hetalia on it.

While Kalos is mostly based on the regions in and around Paris, Kiloude City seems to take some inspiration from the southern French Riviera due to its palm trees.

Lumiose is Paris. Kalos covers basically all of central & northern France while Kiloude's inspiration is southern France

And the small islands out in Azure Bay are based on the Channel Islands, which are partly in British and French waters. So we did have a British region before Galar. ;)

The Japanese word for Germany is "Doitsu" so that's why.

But Deutsch (German for German) does sound like "Doitsch".

Interestingly, there are three main terms for Germany.

    Germany
    Alemania (Spanish for example)
    Deustch

These are slightly edited for different suffixes, spellings, and the like.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Greece could be cool if only for the myth based pokemon. Though I'd also like a South America themed game.
