Thank you Come again
I have a few situations that I could pick but IDK.

1) SAVE UP FOR A WII
First I may start with the future. I want a Wii! I want Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy AND Legend of Zelda!!! Should this be the time to start saving up?

2) SAVE UP FOR A Ninendo 64
Conker's Bad Fur Day, Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini, Banjo Kazooie AND Banjo Tooie won't see the face of Wii...This will be the only way to see them!

3) SAVE UP FOR GAMECUBE GAMES
I'm missing out on tons of good games, and I mean TONS!!!!!!!

4) SAVE UP FOR A DS lite AND DS GAMES
I am interested in the DS lites design and I need more DS Games!

5) SAVE UP FOR A DREAMCAST
I never got to play one and have heard MANY thing! If only....

WHAT TO DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANY RECCOMENDATIONS??????
You could also pick combined choices for example:
Get a DS lite and Save up for a Wii
OR
Save up for a Nintendo 64 and Gamecube games!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!!!!

Scratch Nintendo 64. The Wii will allow you to download older NES, SNES and N64 games.

Wait a while for the Cube games. GameCube games will soon drop in price as soon as Nintendo labels the console as discontinued.

Despite wanting to get a DS Lite, allow me to tell you that you will not get one any time soon. Just like the rest of you. The DS Lite has a HUGE chance of being sold out for weeks or even months. o_O

Dreamcast, I'd suggest getting QUICK. They're becoming scarce in working condition, as are the good games. eBay's pretty much plagued with the sports and fishing games, as well as games that nobody wanted. Since DC has been discontinued since 2001, there's hardly any chance of finding sealed games for cheap.

O hai you guysh !
Out of those, I'd say save up for a Wii, or buy a normal DS, unless you want extremely cramped up hands...

shove it up ya bum!
Well N64 and Dreamcast don't really require much 'saving'. I know you can get a N64 here for about $10 and games for about $2. I'd start saving for a Wii, I'd rather it than any of those consoles.

Go for a Wii. If you REALLY want to play the games that aren't availible for download, buy an N64 after you got a Wii. They are ridiculouly cheap and most of the good games now have sequels on other systems.

Wii and Lite end of story. N64 is useless with the Wii. Great titles on the Gamecube (Like Super Smash Bros Melee) will have sequels on the Wii so I would just get the Wii (since GC is pretty much dead now and will be dead once Wii comes out). DS is an awesome system and the Lite is just much better. Reserve it, it comes out in June something in US. Dreamcast, hard to get, not worth time, yeah.

Says the one who mentioned to get a DS Lite.

If that sold out for weeks in Japan, do you honestly think it'll be a breeze to find it in the US once it's out?

Dreamcast isn't that difficult to find. Nor is it really that expensive (the most expensive you'll probably find is at about $100 tops, and it includes games and such). Finding some of the non-crappy games is another story. :s

I think you should save up for a Revolution and a DS/Lite. You can just buy classic games that you want for the N64 on the Revolution anyway. And I wouldn't suggest getting a Dreamcast. Dreamcast games aren't that common, so you'd most likely be stuck with the same games for a long time. If you can only get one system, then I suggest you get a Revolution. Besides, the price for Gamecube games is most likely going to go down soon, so I'd wait a few months to buy them.

You are forgetting that you can preorder DS Lite's now at EB Games/GameStop...

You should save up for a Wii really. If you already have a DS then you dont need the new one unless you're like me and have to have all of the variations.

Save up for Wii and the Games. (The system will only be $250 or less (most likely $250) and the games will probably stay at $50-$60.

I'd save up for either gamecube game, or for the Wii. Wii seems like it's going to be awesome, but then there are some Gamecube games that are just the same.

And you are forgetting that GameStop and EB are notorious for having less copies of items than there are pre-orders. ;)

I'd suggest getting a second hand N64 just for the Banjo games. Brilliant platformers that, in my humble opinion, where much more fun to play through than Mario 64. However, I wouldn't recommend purchasing one game without getting the other, as Tooie is riddled with in-jokes that you'd only really appreciate if you'd managed to complete the first~
The fact that you can find an N64 for delightfully dirt cheap prices these days only sweetens the deal. In the end, purchasing the system wouldn't be much of a set-back, and you'd more than likely still be able to afford both it and the Nintendo Wii.

For the record, we have no idea how much the Wii downloads are going to cost. Chances are, you'll be able to pick up the older cart versions for a lighter price. I can't imagine they'd be willing to give these downloads away at too low a cost. But then, I'm no expert on this sort of crud, so I wouldn't heed this final paragraph :p

From what has been said, they don't want to charge a whole lot for the past games. So it's a safe bet that there won't be anything being charged over $10. Remember that Nintendo's deal with online is that they have especially kids in mind, so they don't want to charge a whole lot. One of the reasons why online gaming wasn't done with the GameCube completely.

Btw, it should be noted that GameStop and EB will no longer be carrying anything Nintendo 64 or PlayStation related games or equipment around June. So if you're gonna get anything, do it quick. Otherwise, eBay is your last choice.

I'm pretty sure you wont be able to get the Rare games on the Wii. I think I saw an IGN article saying that Rare wont support the Virtual Console, but is more likely to put the on the XBox Live marketplace. So, if you really want them, I'd suggest get the N64, as the Wii will be cheap. The other points have already been said, so I wont be redundant.

You don't need the Nintendo 64, since the Nintendo Revoloution will be able to play every single Nintendo game. That's also a recomondation. Buy the Revoloution when it comes out.

To clear up why some people have been saying to get an N64, Rare games will more than likely not be available on the Virtual Console on Wii. Microsoft owns that company now. Of course, Microsoft, given it's current stance that Nintendo isn't direct competition, may make these games available. We will have to wait and see.

Yea. Sorry to clear things up:
I'm getting the N64 for the "Rareware" games. These games will not arrive to the Wii 's Virtual Console as "Rareware", or Rare as they are called these days, is working for Microsoft. Now I absolutly LOVED some of those good ol' games and I demand to play them again.
I give thanks to PlanetDreamacst for my craving to spill my money towards a Dreamcast and its games.
I know this topic is old but please continue to give your advice!!
Thank you!
