Recommend me some DS games....

JohtoBlaziken

I dunno lol
Well, with my birthday coming up in a few days, my parents are wondering what I want. Every year, I just pretty much tell them a few small things and they get them. Not really much of a surprise, is it? Well, I told them I want a DS lite, but I didn't say any games yet, and that's what they really want to know. I don't have a regular DS, but I play Brain Age on my little brother's DS when he lets me (brat....e_e). My other brothers own a few games, so I'll just list them...

New Super Mario Bros.
Sonic Rush
AC: WW
Nintendogs (two different versions..)

And I have...

Brain Age...

^The above is what I already have. I'm going to start laughing the moment people post in the thread only seeing the list and recommend one of those games. Morons......

I'm thinking about getting Super Mario 64 DS, and want to know if you people think its a good game. Metroid Prime: Hunters, Mariokart, and Warioware too.

Well, recommend something already!

Since this is so obviously in the Nintendo forum, his thread is also open to cube suggestions. I have like, forty cube games counting my three brothers' too though, so be warned....

If this thread is too much of a problm mods, close it. I don't want to unknowingly make a bothersome spam thread.

One more thing...Don't recommend future games. They are future games. My birthday is not in the future. I also want to say that there really aren't any third-party games that interest me, not even the Viewtiful Joe one (which is ironic, because I love the console ones..).

Super Mario 64 DS is a great game. Buy it if you haven't played the original N64 one.

Metroid Prime: Hunters and Mario Kart DS are great games with online capabilities, they should definitely be on your "to buy" list.

Wario Ware is different though. I played it and it was somewhat fun (the humor is nice), but it's far to short to pay the price. I'd rent it, but definitely do not buy it.

Other recommendations are:
-Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. One of the best CV games ever made and a superb Side-Scrolling Action/Adventure game. Beautiful graphics, awesome music and really addictive gameplay. It's my favorite DS game so far and it was my first Castlevania game!

-Advance Wars: Dual Strike. The best description here is: endless. This incredible turn-based strategy game has so much to offer. There is a strong, lengthy campaign, LOTS of Battle Maps where you can challenge the computer in TONS of different maps (no seriously, there are a LOT), there is a Map Designer where you can design your own map and challenges, there is a fun combat mode, which is sort of an arcade action game, really fun. There is Survival Mode where you can do certain challenges. Of course you can also play against a friend. Great game!

-Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: I haven't played it personally, but I read so much positive feedback that you should definitely give it a look.

-Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time: Same with PW, it's supposedly worse than its predecessor, but it's still a great game.

-Kirby: Canvas Curse/Power Paintbrush: I heard this game makes GREAT use of the stylish and is one of the best Kirby games around as well as being just a fantastic and fun platformer.

These are some recommendations, there are more of course, but these are IMO the most important ones.

If your birthday's not in the future, then why are you posting here? :p

Anyways, I reccomend:

Pokemon Dash
Pokemon Trozei
Big Brain Academy
Tetris DS

And yes, Super Mario 64 DS, Metroid Prime: Hunters, MarioKart DS, and Warioware: Touched! are good games.

I don't know what your GCN games are so I don't want to accidentally make a pointless list of those.

No offense, but you can't seriously recommend him Dash. <_<" I mean, it's nice that you liked it, but seeing other people their reactions, the chances the topic creator will like it are VERY slim. ^^"

Well I think it's a good game, and he should at least give it a chance. If he doesn't like it he can just return it.

Yeah. I don't really plan on getting Dash....*sweatdrop*

And Ho-oh seeker; By that comment, I meant my birthday is not months from now, but in a few days. Just wanted to clear that up....

It'd be nice if some of you coud elaborate instead of just list 'em and leave....

I know, I was just kidding. As for the descriptions, here they are:

Big Brain Academy: Similar to Brain Age, except in this game you train your brain in other unique ways, and as a plus you can finally prove to your brothers that you're smarter than them.

WarioWare Touched!: Another crazy WarioWare game with tons of KRAZEEY microgames that make use of the NDS's "special" features in just about every way.

Pokemon Trozei!: Basically an addictive improved version of the Pokemon Puzzle League that makes you use the touch screen or else, with a storyline involving a spy organization to boot.

Tetris DS: Classic tetris gameplay with a new Nintendo remix.

Metroid: Prime Hunters: Another good metroid game. It offers a pretty good storyline although I must admit it's rather short.

Super Mario 64 DS: An improved DS remake of the revolutionary game for N64 that has a longer storyline with 150 Stars (as opposed to 120) that will guarantee a really fun video gaming experience.

MarioKart DS: A great MarioKart game that incudes 16 new tracks, along with 16 other "Retro" tracks from the SNES, N64, GBA, and GCN. Quite possibly the best game on this list other than SM64, it's a must for any DS owner. Since it's also the best Nintendo Wi-Fi game as well, why not get it?

Lol.

It is different then other Metroid Primes, it is more of a shooter then an adventure, keep that in mind. Need information, I am sure Deoxys Prime will gladly tell you.

I say get Mariokart ds if you have wifi because otherwise it's too short and repetitve. Metroid prime hunters is a good game but it is hard if you haven't played those kinds of games beforee.

The only import game I'd recommend at the moment for the DS. That is, if you like musical games.

EFFING IMPORT DIAMOND OR PEARL.

That is, if you have a paypal account or your parents can let you use their credit cards.

I suggest buying it off of http://www.play-asia.com for a cheap price and fast delivery.

(I know it's not out yet, but since it's not your birthday at the moment, you can pre-order it and it should ship to you in September or October)

Only recommended for those who can read and translate Hiragana and Katakana. Otherwise, don't bother. A majority of the people on this forum can't read Japanese.

However, Ouendan is import friendly since no reading is required. ;)

From what I've heard about it, Pokémon Mysterous Dungeon Blue should tide you over nicely before Diamond and Pearl.

Mario & Luigi PIT is better than Superstar Saga, and a fine game indeed. Nuff said.

Might update later with a bit more information for you.

PS. Why is everyone posting Animal Crossing? JB's already said he's got it.

Emerald Mewtwo

Worlds Collide!!!
Metroid Prime Hunters A great game to play for both single & multiplayer.

Mario Kart DS I believe it's a popular game for many nintendo gamers, It'll be worth playing it, I guarantee it.

Super Mario 64 DS It's far improved remake, since it has longer storyline, 4 characters to play as, new multiplayer (which is not enough) & mini-games.

That's all I can recommend so far.

Advance Wars: Dual Strike - This is the best game on the DS, and for that matter one of the best games ever. It never gets old, has great music, a fun cast of characters, lots of statistics tracking, and the gameplay is deeper than everything I've played except Pokemon. Also, it's the only strategy game I've ever played and really liked. I hated the genre before playing AW2, and AWDS is superior in most every way.

Big Brain Academy - More fun than Brain Age, though it doesn't last quite as long unless you have the willpower to stop yourself from just playing nonstop and wearing it out. (Unlike BA, you can play as many times as you want in one day.)

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow - If you can manage to find it. If not, Portrait of Ruin is shaping up to be way better anyway.

Meteos - Again, if you can manage to find it. It's not quite as awesome as Tetris DS due to lack of Wi-Fi, but for a single-player puzzle game it's still one of the best.

Super Mario 64 DS - Some people complain about the controls; I didn't have any trouble with them after all of about five minutes, and the presence of Luigi, extra levels, and minigames pretty much justified the purchase.

Super Princess Peach - I'm not sure why this game is so underrated. Yeah, it's somewhat easy if you buy all the upgrades (I shudder to think what it would be like if you bought none of them), but this is a fun and creative platformer with lots of fanservice for longtime Mario fans (enemies who haven't been in 14+ years), and the best boss battles in the series once you get near the end.

Tetris DS - You've probably played Tetris at some point or other, so I don't need to justify that much. I'll say this, though: this is by far the best Wi-Fi experience on DS. The only one where cheaters don't ruin it and connection problems never show up.

Advance Wars DS: I don't really like strategy to much, but AW:DS is awesome. The campaign mode will last you quite a while and its always fun to go back and try to get a higher score on certain missions. It has multi player but it would have benefitted far greater by the addition of WiFi. All in all its a fun game thats often overlooked.

Mario Kart DS: Hmm...well I liked it quite a bit (but it was the first MK game I've ever played) lots of fun but the 150 cc was a little hard for me. I wore myself out and put it down for a while and now I'm playing quite a bit.

Kirby Canvas Curse: Great game, its fun, its different, it makes good use out of the stylus, get it.
