I'm not getting a Gamecube anytime soon (the DS Lite takes priority), but I'd like some information when I do get a chance to buy one. So...

What are some good games for Gamecube? Good sidescrollers? (Collections of old games count.) Good RPGs? Any good RTS's, or turn-based strategy? Games with sword-wielding main characters (like Zelda)? Interesting peripherals (like the DK bongos or the microphone for Mario Party 7)? GBA connectivity is a plus, as is multiplayer. Even some bonus or demo disks (like the Zelda 1/2/N64 collections)? No FPS's, please.

And finally: Gamecube or Q?

It all depends if you want to be able to watch DVDs on your system. Do you live in a country where you can buy a Q? I don't particularly favor DVD players as part of game consoles.

Good games:

Tales of Symphonia
Super Mario Sunshine
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean

Off the top of my head.

There's alot of great Gamecube games. Theres:
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Super Mario Sunshine
Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time(with Master Quest)
Legend of Zelda the Wind Waker
Lord of the Rings Return of the King
Lord of the Rings the Third Age(ok)
Legend of Zelda Four Swords Adventures
Mario Kart DoubleDash
Poemon Coloseum
Pokemon XD Legends: Gale of Darkness
StarWars Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast
StarWars Clone Wars
Paper Mario: the Thousand Year Door
Those are all pretty good games, and have a range of RPG to first person shooter to racing.

Let's see...there are a ton of good games but I will only list a few.

Tales of Symphonia
Super Smash Bros Melee
Resident Evil 4
The Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition
The Legend of Zelda The Windwaker
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles

There are tons more, but those would be the best IMO.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Metroid Prime yet.

If you're not getting a Gamecube any time soon then it might be worth waiting for a Wii. Not only have you got the advantage of all these new games BUT you can play Gamecube games on it. Just a suggestion.

Games for Gamecube though (note I'm ignoring what other people have said so "Bent" can get a feel of the game popularity.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Super Mario Sunshine
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Metroid Prime 1 & 2
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Pikmin 2
Super Smash Bros. Melee
F-Zero GX
Batallion Wars
DK Bongos

Third party:

Baten Kaitos
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles
Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc
Timesplitter 2

I could think of more but I'm having a mind-blank. Sorry.
