So, basically post any entertaining stories about your launch date antics here.
Were you smart and Reserved the game? or did you fight the crowds just because it's more fun?

I remember all of the hype and buzz over the release of Pokemon Gold and Silver a few years ago. Upon it's release, litterally 80-90 people flooded my local Game store at 12 AM. I of course, was one of them! I was about 10 people away from getting my copy when they announced they no longer had any more copies. Needless to say, there was quite alot of yelling, profanity, and crying as well within the line. The funny part was, after admitting defeat and heading to my local grocery store for a bite to eat.. THERE IT WAS.. for sale at my local Albertsons! (they usually don't sell video games).

I sort of just got into the games... >>;; but my ex usually reserved the games. I think he did with all of them. o_O; Even Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness.

But yeah.. I guess the next games that are to be released, I will reserve it to.. Only seems natural to do so. Along with that, sometimes you get free stuff for it. I forgot the name, lol.

I got red and blue on launch from 2 different places. I went to maybe 4 stores after school. One KB toy store had 3 copies of blue. I was nto a fan fo blue, but I bought just in case I couldn't find red. If I did find red, blue would be my sisters. Well I found red, last copy at some sears electronic store. The lady was like "what's the big deal with these things? they're popular should I get one?" my mom said "this may be the biggest thing since cabbage pack kids." go my red.

Also, I heard horror stories from a friend who saw pokemon the first movie opening day. He told me the story once and said he'd never tell it again, as he does not want to relive that expirience.

I pre-ordered Ruby and since I was one of the only ones, I got a cool R/S mini-radio. A few days later, I bought Sapphire.

I remember going to see the first movie, and it was so popular they had to use more than one room for screening it. It was one of the highest money-earning-in-a-week films that was only just beaten by Shrek 2 a few years ago.

I ordered a few of my games like Fire Red and Yellow from America before they were released over in Britain and had collected most of the badges before most people had started playing it.

The only game I've preordered was Gale of Darkness, though my brother preordered Emerald for me. I got the other games much further after their release dates (in the case of Sapphire, over two years).

I preordered Yellow version,..my first pokemon Game I truley owned from best buy.

Gold Version I got a week early from release date at my wal mart,.. guess they goofed and put it out early LOL Needless to say I was REALLY excited seeing it there before it's release.

Saphire I got a few days after release date. My friend James and I save up money for it, gave me his half and told me to grab them while he was at work....went to Wal mart,..the first friday from after the release and bought Saphire for me,...and Ruby for him as we had wanted... both came with a strategy guide pack in for wal mart...I thought it was cool :)

I missed the G/S/C generation, I was still playing red, After S/R came out I searched desperately to find crystal, Then when I pre-ordered emerald and went to pick in up, there was crystal. I didn't know which to play with first.

I got most Pokémon games with a few months span after their release. I believe the one I bought the earliest was LeafGreen. I bought it around October. The rest were obtained about 3 or 4 months after release. In the case of Ruby... one year after release.

Oh yes. I got Emerald in May. The release month.

i pre-ordered most of the games that could be pre-ordered. I got Emerald before anyone else in my town though. i waited at the front door until the manager came to unlock the door (30 min. before EB Games opens 8D). You should've seen the look he gave me XD. It was like he was saying 'who the heck are you and what do you want from me freak' then i said i came for Emerald, he gave me it, and i skipped out of the store like a little school girl (not really).

I only pre ordered XD

I always got the games sometime after the release, but I remember me getting silver some time after the US release, and the day before Gold and silver came out, the sky looked half gold, half silver.
Then, a week after release, I went to tescos, and brought Pokemon gold!

Deoxys Prime

Time will tell.
I prordered Emerald. I got Pokemon Yellow a while back, I think I got it as soon as it came out in stores.

back when pokemon snap was released, my dad would usually bring me to blockbuster to rent a N64 and some games.anyways, when we got there, there were 4 other people renting a N64 and pokemon snap! when it was finally our turn in line, the guy at the counter sayed they were all out... the kid infront of me took the last friekin' one! i burst into tears and didn't stop till i got home (man was i ever a wallflower when i was 4)

All I really remember getting was Emerald. On the same day released. My mom(who was getting it for me)said she went to a few stores to even find it.But,I`ve learned from that and the minute I see Diamond or Pearl on the internet for pre-order,I`m askin` my mom.
