Lol, the strong relevance here is that Greninja's (more specifically Ash-Greninja's) concept was inspired from Naruto, to a huge extent actually. Now it becomes even more clear as I am watching Naruto.
Water Veil Transformation = Building up Chakra
Double Team = Shadow Clone Jutsu
Cut = Kunai
Water Shuriken = Shuriken used by ninjas
Orange Shuriken used in KL finals = Rasen Shuriken
They look so much alike that it's hard to miss.
