Rest and isnomina

Right, what happens, when, a pokemon like Banette, which has isnominia, uses rest? I'm not sure, because, if nothing happens, surely, it wouldn't be in it's moveset, yet, isnomia prevents sleep!

So, what would happen, surely it wouldn't learn it if nothing happens?

This topic has come up before, I believe it says something to the effect of "[Pokemon's] Insomnia prevents sleep!" You don't get healed.

as for why it can learn a move it can't use: shedinja can get harden. so?

besides which, bannette can have a very specialized anti-tank moveset: will-o-wisp/mean look/skill swap/rest. just ML them, WoW so they keep taking damage, and skill swap so that they can't rest, then just rest yourself until they die.
