Returning Irritants of the Games?

((Eh, this is a bit more specific than all the other 'what # of pokemon do you think this game will have!!!?'))

Well, they're not all irritants, but a lot of Pokémon have appeared in all three generations as wild Pokémon, and a few have been in both Johto and Hoenn, but will we see them again? Do you think Tentacool, Geodude, Zubat, etc. etc. will show up again as easily found pesky wild Pokémon once more, or will this finally be the Generation where we're freed of seeing them all the time when surfing, exploring caves....

I'm thinking they probably will, but a few Pokémon like, Sandshrew will probably NOT appear for a fourth time running, and Marill probably won't be up for three in a row. Admittedly something like Marill stepping out is semi-questionable, but when you consider someone like Meowth got shafted when RuSa came out, anything might be possible.

...And obviously Pikachu will return yet again, but who else will? Zubat for sure, and Tentacool will probably be there again-- perhaps not as commonly though, since even RuSa reduced his frequency of appearance (Geodude too? I dunno, haven't played RuSa in a while..).

For the sake of reference, an incomplete and perhaps not fully correct list of Pokémon to appear in all three Generations as wild Pokémon (and their evolution lines, by Generation III I do not include FR/LG for the purposes of this topic);
Pikachu, Raichu, Sandshrew, Sandslash, Vulpix, Ninetales, Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff, Zubat, Golbat, Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume, Psyduck, Golduck, Abra, Kadabra, Alakazam, Machop, Machoke, Machamp, Tentacool, Tentacruel, Geodude, Graveller, Golem, Magnemite, Magneton, Doduo(?), Dodrio(?), Grimer, Muk, Voltorb, Electrode, Koffing, Weezing, Horsea, Seadra, Staryu, Starmie, Pinsir(?), Magikarp, Gyarados.

In addition to this, who do you think will MOST LIKELY return, even if they aren't on this list, and do you think this fourth region's returning Pokémon will have a lot of Hoenn, Johto, Kanto Pokémon, or an equal mix of both? For example, if the lack of electric Pokémon continues, I think it's likely Electrike and Manectric might be brought in alongside with the other electric staples, though I don't see Plusle and Minun doing an encore-- they're not very strong, and since they don't evolve and were more novelties, I don't see them back again.

I guess Pika, Jigglypuff, Tentacool etc. and possibly Machop will make a re-apperance. However, they will create a new Pokemon that is an annoyance. And Zubat will never die. And Abras will appear somewhere near the early-middle of the game on a route as always.

Something tells me we won't be seeing such Pokemon as Vulpix, Sandshrew, and Horsea in these games, and I would hope we don't get Magnemite and Voltorb yet again. I feel very confident, however, that Pikachu, Tentacool, Zubat, and Geodude will be appearing this game all over the place in addition to the Abra line. Grimer and Koffing are likely, but I'm shaky about them; I have a feeling that they're not the type to endure three generations and instead will be replaced by two Pokeclones (Poison/Fire and Poison/Ice, maybe?)

Overall, I'm not expecting that too many of these Pokemon will be making a reappearance in the next generation as catchable Pokemon.

Well, why would they want to get rid of them? The 386 were the Pokemon we've gotten to know so much............

However, look at Gold/Silver/Crystal. That was a major case of overexposure to old Pokemon. I don't think Nintendo nor Gamefreak wants to pull another one of those right now.

Trust me, they won't forget about Kanto altogether, but realize that you have four generations of Pokemon vying for inclusion in this game...you can't please everyone. The fourth-gen Pokemon will take precedence over the others, but the other Pokemon will make an occasional appearance, of course. I merely think that they won't overplay the role of Kanto Pokemon in this journey...

Machop had better remain... but then I've got nobody to trade with to evolve it. Damn! Ah well, I'm sure some awesome Dark/Fighting type will come along.

Tentacool and Zubat will still annoy though. We will still have to put up with stupid haxy Golbats Confuse Raying us to death as we watch our type advanteged Pokemon slowly kill themselves...

Pikachu, Zubat, and Tentacool are pretty much guaranteed to show up. I can see the Oddish line making a comeback as well. Maybe Geodude too, under rocks. Everything else is up in the air.

they're not "returning Irritants" persay, but it's pretty much confirmed that Snorlax, Sudowoodo, Mr. Mime, Sneasel and Mantine will appear in DP, since they're releated to DP pokemon.

Tentacool, Zubat and Pikachu are a given as well.

Well true that pikachu/odish/zubat/magikarp/tentacool/geodude has been in R/S/E/LG/FR but in D/P this may be different in ways like the kanto pokes will be lower or maybe only pikachu/zubat/geodude will appear.....& many possibilities.

Zubat Lives!!! I'm a big bat fan, plus seeing something familiar every now and then is nice (I think), this game is suppose to be crammed with new monsters, so the old ones will make a good secruity blanket.

I used to think they just through in random Pokemon like Staryu and Heracross for Ru/Sa, then I realised online about competitive battling... the uses of Pokemon... etc, so I can sse why they included the ones they did now. Many people would have been traumitised by the loss of the big bug boss heracross (hehehe, that rhymes!) and the special sweepers Alakazam and Starmie, etc. Zubat and Tentacool definitely, what else are they supposed to throw everywhere and anywhere?

From the 3rd gen, mabye Wingull as he's pretty much everywhere. Zigzagoon...?
