((Eh, this is a bit more specific than all the other 'what # of pokemon do you think this game will have!!!?'))
Well, they're not all irritants, but a lot of Pokémon have appeared in all three generations as wild Pokémon, and a few have been in both Johto and Hoenn, but will we see them again? Do you think Tentacool, Geodude, Zubat, etc. etc. will show up again as easily found pesky wild Pokémon once more, or will this finally be the Generation where we're freed of seeing them all the time when surfing, exploring caves....
I'm thinking they probably will, but a few Pokémon like, Sandshrew will probably NOT appear for a fourth time running, and Marill probably won't be up for three in a row. Admittedly something like Marill stepping out is semi-questionable, but when you consider someone like Meowth got shafted when RuSa came out, anything might be possible.
...And obviously Pikachu will return yet again, but who else will? Zubat for sure, and Tentacool will probably be there again-- perhaps not as commonly though, since even RuSa reduced his frequency of appearance (Geodude too? I dunno, haven't played RuSa in a while..).
For the sake of reference, an incomplete and perhaps not fully correct list of Pokémon to appear in all three Generations as wild Pokémon (and their evolution lines, by Generation III I do not include FR/LG for the purposes of this topic);
Pikachu, Raichu, Sandshrew, Sandslash, Vulpix, Ninetales, Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff, Zubat, Golbat, Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume, Psyduck, Golduck, Abra, Kadabra, Alakazam, Machop, Machoke, Machamp, Tentacool, Tentacruel, Geodude, Graveller, Golem, Magnemite, Magneton, Doduo(?), Dodrio(?), Grimer, Muk, Voltorb, Electrode, Koffing, Weezing, Horsea, Seadra, Staryu, Starmie, Pinsir(?), Magikarp, Gyarados.
In addition to this, who do you think will MOST LIKELY return, even if they aren't on this list, and do you think this fourth region's returning Pokémon will have a lot of Hoenn, Johto, Kanto Pokémon, or an equal mix of both? For example, if the lack of electric Pokémon continues, I think it's likely Electrike and Manectric might be brought in alongside with the other electric staples, though I don't see Plusle and Minun doing an encore-- they're not very strong, and since they don't evolve and were more novelties, I don't see them back again.
