Returning TM's

Who flung poo?
There was something similiar for HM moves, but not for TM's. Every generation has introduced some new TM's, but retained a few from before. There are the classics such as Blizzard, Solarbeam, Double Team, Thunder, etc. Then there are a few G/S/C TM's that made it into R/S/E (i.e. Return, Shadowball, Iron Tail). Which do you hope return for the fourth gen and which ones are you willing to leave behind.

Personally, I'm pulling for Earthquake to shuffle off this mortal coil. While I do so love it on my Sandslash, it renders almost everything else in 2v2 useless. Some of the 3rd gen TM's I don't expect to see return are Bullet Seed and Water Pulse. Water Pulse has it's uses, but the same can hardly be said of Bullet Seed. I always wondered how it made the cut in the first place.

Anyway, discuss amongst yourselves...

Earthquake will probably remain a TM. Brick Break might do as well, and Hidden Power certainly has a chance. Other than that, I suspect Ice Beam, Thunderbolt and Flamethrower will survive, and I hope Sleep Talk becomes a TM again too.

Hm .. most likely Brick Break, Earthquake, Hidden Power, Flamethrower .. and maybe some more. It depends too. They might make a bunch of new attacks into TM's, and make tutors for previous TM's, right? Oh well .. ideas. :/

Why wouldn't Earthquake remain a TM? It's been in the game since R/B/Y.

I don't think that Torment will remain a TM, nor will Bullet Seed or Water Pulse as the thread starter mentioned. However, such TM staples as Ice Beam, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Fire Blast, Blizzard, Thunder, Reflect, Light Screen, Safeguard, Toxic, and Hyper Beam are bound to return.

TM 01 will definately be changed to a new punch attack

RBY: Mega Punch
GSC: DynamicPunch
RSE: Focus Punch

Oh yeah, forgot about that. What punch would they do this time though?

Some older moves may become TMs such as hopefully Spore, Substitute (come back!), Poison Tail, maybe even Hi Jump Kick (one can always hope).

I think the only reason why Bullet Seed and Water Pulse 'made the cut', was probably for a filler TM. If you think about it .. Bullet Seed is properly placed within the game, it's in the beginning and it's a week move. Therefore, it kind of gives you the hint that it's a filler move, and that it was just shoved into the game randomly. Although, it was a neat idea.

As for Water Pulse. I'm guessing that tehy didn't have a Water-type TM, for the eighth Gym Leader, Wallace/Juan, so tehy had to make one for him. Although, that could possibly be false, because not every Gym Leader has a TM the type of their specialty, do they? *is thinking about Brock in R/B/Y with Bide*

Also, Shadow Ball is another good staple TM, Eszett.

And add Mud-Slap with Falkner.

The TMs could change depending on how the makers want the game to be played ie. this generation could be a more defensive one and so more defensive TMs could arise. Of course there will be filler TMs though. I hope the next gen becomes defensive, I want to stall. I just hope Barrier or Acid Armor becomes a TM, maybe even Amnesia, you just never know.

I see Water Pulse coming back not neccesarily Bullet Seed though. If you saw the importance Gale of Darkness gave Water Pulse you would understand. I'm hoping to drop Return, Attrack, and bring back Fury Cutter(I don't think it was in R/S/E)

'twas not. I am with you though. That gives more Bug Pokémon a chance to learn it.

I'm fairly sure that Earthquake will return. I just wish that it wouldn't due to it's impact on the 2v2 game. Attract played a big role in G/S/C, but no so much in this generation. It seems like a likely one to assign to move tutoring.

I'd never noticed the punching trend for TM 01, but you quite right. It would be cool, but not a likely candidate, to have Shadow Punch take that position.

I want to see: Water Pulse,Bullet Seed,Trick(is that a TM?),Torment, Thief, and Attract go. Earthquake,Thunderbolt,Flamethrower,Solarbeam,Psychic,Ice Beam,Protect,Dig,Shadow Ball,Thunder,Fire Blast,Blizzard, and Hyper Beam should stay. Solarbeam needs to be able to be bought too. The rest I don't care much about

Those probably will stay, considering how many of those were first-gen TMs. If anything, TM01 will be a new type of Punch, probably a new Fighting type punch. And IMO, Fury Cutter sucks. Return, however, is quite a decent offensive attack and so should be kept.

I don't really think we need both Return and Frustration as TMs. I know it makes sense and yadda yadda, but it's silly to have moves that are essentially identical, with the difference between being your Pokemon's mood. After all, how many people use Frustration? Not many.

I'm quite certain Rock Tomb will be one to go, and I don't see Snatch or Skill Swap sticking around either.

I think they should make the elemental punches return as TMs!
Ew...No. Most Pokemon can't use them effectively, anyways. The only ones that really stand out as being able to use them well are Ampharos, Electabuzz, Magmar, and....yep. That's about it. Unless they create a gaggle of Pokemon that can make those things look incredibly awesome, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, and Ice Beam get the job done just fine, and with more power. :<

The only one I can see returning is Earthquake. Other than that...meh?

I'll have to agree with you on that one. Elemental punches are .. well .. crap compared to the elemental 'beams', I guess you could call them. There's no need for punches .. besides .. punching is mean .. :<

Solarbeam will definetly stick around - I believe it was in every game so far. Steel Wing and Iron Tail will likely stick around as well. I'm also hoping for the return of Dragon Claw. Crunch needs to be made into a TM, though. Or as something that a move-tutor can teach, I don't care >_>; More Dark-types need to be able to learn it naturally, and more Pokemon should be able to use it if they can at least use bite.

While I agree that Ice Beam, Flamethrower, and Thunderbolt are more effective, I still enjoy using the Elemental Punches from time to time. Though the only ones I've actually used them with are the three that Ethereal mentioned XD
I'd much rather be punched with a fiery fist then engulfed in a stream of flames, though.

I want Curse Back! D:

Physical Attackers who were unable to learn Swords Dance or Bulk Up could reep with Curse + Rest. In GSC, every Pokemon that could learn TMs could learn Curse. I want Curse once again on Magcargo, Piloswine, Ariados, Golem, Cloyster, Weezing, Kangaskahn, Seaking, Tauros, Sudowoodo, Forretress, Steelix, Donphan, ect. Most(Not All) of these Pokemon are already Slow, so They can use it.

Edit: Reflect TM also came back, but most of the Pokemon that couyld learn it then cannot learn it now (Like Vileplume)

Wasting my time
When I meant adding the elemental punches,I didn't mean taking out the elemental beams. In GSC,it was really rare a pokémon with any of those in-game.:(

Maybe if they take out Blizzard/Thunder/Fire Blast for the elemental punches.
