Return's power.

One of my team is going to be using return as its main physical sweeping attack. At full power, it's a pretty good move, but I'm worried that its changing based on the pokemon's happiness might be a problem, so here's a few questions to make sure:

1.) What happens to a friendship-dependant move's power when you register the pokemon for use in colosseum? (im assuming you can do that like in pokemon stadium).

2.) Does storing a pokemon in the PC lower its happiness?

3.) How hard is it to max out a pokemon's happiness?

4.) (just in case) Is slash a decent move for a physical sweeper to use? It was my second choice.

1.) Don't know what you mean.I can tell you,if you trade pokemon to other games, its happiness will reset.

2.)No,it doen't effect happiness. (Come on,if it would, would it be fair? You can only have 6 pokemon with you)

3.)You have to be patient. You can use it often in battles, walk a lot with it in your team, groom it at daisy's house, give it vitamins, give it a soothe bell, etc. These are all ways to make your pokemon happy. Not very hard.

4.)Slash is a good move, especially if the user is holding Scope lens. However I still prefer return.Return's max power is 102.

1)I'm not so sure...
2)No it keeps its hapiness at the same level
3)Pretty hard, depends on which pokemon
4)Slash...Meh it's okay, you could probably use something better though...

1) No idea.
2)Despite what they said, yes, it does affect happiness. There was a thread explaining how to make a pokemon happy somewhere, its all to do with points. it is at maxed out happiness at 220 points&you catch it at 70 points. walking a certain amount of steps with a pokemon increases its points by 1, haircuts (on G/S/C) by either 2, 3, or 5, etc. Storing a pokemon in a PC lowers these points by 2 everytime it is deposited.
3)Maxing out happiness isn't too difficult really. Go to the top of the tower in lavender town&use itemfinder where Mr. Fuji was stood,&you'll find a soothe bell. Give that to the pokemon whose happiness you want to increase&you'll max it out in no time. Also, try the berries which lower EV's, as they also increase happiness a significant amount. Other than that, the daycare&letting your pokemon battle without letting it faint are the easiest ways.
4)Return, IMO, is a much better move to use than slash. With maxed out happiness its pretty strong, and a good physical move to use. It's seen on quite a few physical sweeper movesets.

Hope this helped ;)

EDIT: If number 1) is like trading from yr cartridge then my guess is it would be reset. However, if you mean like the old stadium 1&2 where you used pokemon from yr cartridge to battle with within the game, then my guess is it would do nothing at all to alter the happiness level.

Despite what he says, it dosen't effect happiness in the third generation, however in Gold/Silver/Crystal it does effect happiness. Again I say, It dosen't effect happiness in FR/LG, which are the games we are talking about.

And to expand on the topics point, if me and my friend are having a battle on Xd or colo, he uses his gamecube team, and i connect my gba with my team to battle him using firered, is happiness maxed in that battle? its like if i use a lum berry in that battle, it doesnt dissapear permanently.

1.) if its register'd to you as the trainer in the GBA game i assume it stays at what it was when you register'd it otherwise it'd be a useless move.

2.)it doesnt lower there happiness but it definitely doesnt help, it just keeps it at what it was when u deposited it

3.)not really hard, there are many ways to do this, these include haircuts battleing and giving it vitamins, also the sooth bell will greatly help, some pokemon can also only learn moves if there happiness is maxed so thats something else to think about

4.) yes slash is a pretty good move for an Atker since it has a good base power of 70 i think and a high critical hit ration, and someone said scope lens would be helpful with that move and he/she is right but i suggest a better item like shell bell

Better then you

the higher the pokemon attack stats are and speed the better the move return will be
That is wrong. Return's power is determined by happiness, not attack and speed atats.

i have looked at the difference and it is better if you teach it to a pokemon that has more speed and attack look at the move on the screen and see how
fast they move even ice beam has certian speeds coming out of different pokemon even flame thrower it depends on happyness attack and how much the pokemon likes the move
if you look at a clefable
and then a slaking doing it witch one do you think would win
slaking has more attack and speed and moves depend on both
no matter what the discription says
