Review the Last Movie you Watched

This thread was kind of approved by JoshYEAH. Well, he said "Go for it" so I'm taking that as his approval.

This thread's purpose is exactly as it sounds. If you liked or disliked a recent movie that you watched you can post a review about it here, and only a review. Right now, you may think that this is a resurrection of the "Rate the Last Movie you Watched" thread, but it's not, and giving ratings and leaving is strictly prohibited. The same thing goes for any reviews under three full sentences in length. I also don't want to see three sentences of "This movie was awesome! There were a lot of cool parts! I recommend it!" A good post should have reasons why you liked/disliked a movie with supporting evidence of why you thought so. If you do post here, elaborate, and make it worth viewing.

To start off
"Quantum of Solace"
Unlike what many thought, I thought that the movie was quite a bit better than the previous one-- "Casino Royale". Unlike its predecessor, Quantum of Solace contained a non-stop thrill effect where the action didn't seem to take any large breaks in which virtually nothing happened. Also, Bond possessed more of a cold efficiency while still showing his emotions when necessary. The only part that I disliked, the plot, seemed somewhat confusing in that while a main character was determined as the villain, I didn't see what his overall objective was. It seemed to have something to do with attaining water from Bolivia, but other than that, I didn't deeply understand what was going on.

WALL-E-10/10
Wall-e is a very touching film about a little robot name Wall-e who falls in love with a sleek, futuristic robot named EVE, which leads to a big adventure in space. It is set in 2800, I believe, and the world is covered in trash. People no longer live on earth, but they now live on a big ship in space. Wall-e was built for compacting the trash, but the program failed. So, for 700 years, Wall-e does what he was supposed to do: compact the trash, even though it is apparently in vain. Wall-e is all alone (almost): his only companion is a little cockroach. He also has developed a personality from being on earth so long. He likes to collect things in the trash such as keys, lighters, shoes, garden gnomes, and pretty much any human trinket. Then, Wall-e's life changes when EVE, a robot designed to search for plant life on earth, comes. Wall-e immediately falls in love. This leads to a exciting and heartwarming adventure in space. I won't give any more details on the story, you'll have to see for your self.

This was, by far, the BEST Pixar animation yet. Period. The scenery was so realistic, sometimes it looked REAL. The minimal use of dialogue in the first 30 minutes is fine. I don't even miss the dialogue. You can tell what Wall-e and EVE are feeling and thinking by their "facial" expressions.

This is a very different film, but in a good way. You'll have to see for yourself just what I mean.

Flight Of The Navigator.

I saw this movie advertised in Toy's R Us under Disney and thought hey I never heard of this movie before it looks interesting. Turns out it was made in 1986 so that's why I never heard of it.

It was a good movie not spectacular but a fun movie. It's about a boy who falls down a steep hill in the woods and is knocked unconsious. When he wakes up it's 12 years into the future, and he still looks like a 12 year old boy he hasnt changed. So eventually you find out he was taken by aliens into another galaxy and had info stored on his brain how to get back, so the people here hold him in a NASA testing facility meanwhile all he wants to do is go home and see his family who are shocked to see him still young and alive. I wont give away the ending but it was a good movie for children and adults.

The Most Dangerous Game 5/10

Really, not as good as the short story. Terribly cheesy foreshadowing. "Ah, Queen of Spades again! Such terrible luck!" >_> Really, did they really put that in there? Terrible acting, the main girl (love interest) in it had the worst acting. But still, nothing like the metal battle that can only go on when you are hunting a human. Still, he did not choose the wise path to bring that useless girl along on his quest to avoid being killed.

Pokemon 2000- Awesome! I laughed when the Slowking said "I could use pants..." when Articuno caused a Blizzard. Also when the Diglett stole Oak's Bike. :D 5/5

Woops, I thought this was the "Last movie you watched" thread, but sure...a description...

Ash, Misty, and Tracey are heading towards the Orange Islands when all of a sudden a storm comes and the Water Pokemon and the boat Ash is in are swept in one direction. The boat soon hits this one Island were they are having a festival. The captain of the boat sees her little sister which has no interest in there islands legend. When they invite Ash/Tracey/Misty to join the festival the boat captains sister is taking part in a role of the legend this year and teases Misty about being Ash's 'Girlfriend' and she picks Ash as 'The Chosen One'. While Pikachu is acting strange he darts out of the hut thing with Ash chasing after him and Misty and Tracey soon follow. There is a Pokemon collector on an air ship that has already captured Moltres (thus causing a storm) and aims to capture the Bird Trio and Lugia and then Pikachu and Ash see Zapdos. Meowth and Team Rocket are there also and while Pikachu appears to be attacking Zapdos Meowth tells Ash and his gang that they are communicating with each other and he says Zapdos says with Moltres gone, there is an imbalance and he claimed that island as his own.

Now go watch it on YouTube if you're interested, because i'm not giving a description for the whole movie. That's just too much for me...

This is exactly what I don't want to see. First of all, you basically just gave it a rating and left, which is exactly what I don't want to see. Also, (besides a large amount of spelling errors) you failed to give evidence to support your opinion, which in itself was vague. I don't even understand what the movie was about at all from your post, and therefore, it is unacceptable.

The Thrashmeister

<-- Made of awesome.
12 Angry Men (10/10)
It's about a jury deliberating over whether or not to send a kid accused of murder to the chair. At first, everyone votes guilty except for one guy. It really explores the emotions and mindsets of the collective and the individual in society, and conveys them brilliantly. Not to mention, it was some of the best acting I've ever seen in a film.

Definitely one of my favorite movies of all time.

Bolt: 9/10

I just got back from seeing it, and I'm very pleased. Yeah, it's another "Dog with superpowers" movie (well in a sence, as he really doesn't have them), but it's very enjoyable. Plenty of humor (with the best jokes being reserved for Rhino the hamster) and touching moments, smooth animation, bright and colorful, and when watching the 3D version, it gets pretty interesting. Probably the best Animated Disney movie (not made by Pixar) in quite a while.

Gandhi - 9/10

A very good movie; Ben Kingsley portrays Gandhi very well and when you look at him to the real life Gandhi, he looks very convincing, except in the beginning of the movie, of course. Aside from that confusing, the acting is good and the scenes very engaging. While the dialogue scenes were a bit boring, and sometimes reassuring of what is being said, they are carried on by action scenes which draw the attention of the watcher.
Sometimes, you reach a scene and aren't sure of what is going on, and some things seem to be rushed, but it all plays out in the end.
A very good movie, worthy of the eight awards it won when it first came out that I think everyone interested in Gandhi should watch.

Krake

Flabebe's Kids
Hollow Man- 7/10

I liked the story line, which is about a project that can turn living creatures invisible and it's tested on Kevin Bacon. Because he was invisible, he started to like his new freedom and thought of it as a gift, but then he goes crazy and tries to kill everyone involved in the project because it was cancelled.

I didn't like Kevin Bacon, because he just seemed so damn creepy. Otherwise, it was pretty decent.

Forever now
Quantum of Solace. (7/10).

Well, although I have watched "Casino Royale," I don't really remember the storyline anymore nor the characters. However, some parts in the movie refresh my memory.
I personally like the concept of unidentified secret movement and control a country thru mineral (water). You see I only like the concepts of the story.
I don't see much technology there, the pace is rather quick makes hard to differ the villain and the hero and the movie is somewhow short to me.

Having a quote in your post does not satisfy the amount of content that you need for your review. The review that you gave for Tropic Thunder wasn't even three sentences long meaning that you couldn't even fulfill that part of the rules. And that, is unacceptable.

Zack and Miri make a porno
Man, before I went to see this film I was quietly thinking to myself - maybe this is the film Kevin Smith finally loses his magic (excluding Jersey Girl) - oh how I was pleasantly surprised. This film went way above and beyond what I was expecting, so much so that it is now my favourite Kevin Smith film (knocking a joint tie of Mallrats and Clerks off the top) Seth Rogen is ****ing hilarious as usual and coupled with the writing and dialogue this film is pretty much a laugh a second. Highly recommend it.

A horror movie starring Famke Janssen (Xmen films/Hide and Seek) is about a woman facing the rest of her jail sentence under house arrest. She had gone to jail for klling her husband which she claims to be in reaction to his constant abuse. Famke is a great actress, so they didn't go wrong castng her as a woman in distress over the return of her dead husband continuing his abuse even after his death. The acting in the film is relativly good and aside from a few of the special effects, the movie does scare effectivly. If you have an afternoon to kill, I recomend it.

WALL-E

9/10

Very cute movie - you know a studio has skills when they can pull off something this cool, even though there's almost no dialogue (outside of robot noises). I gave it a 9 due to some nitpicks (like lack of older children, teens, and the elderly on the spaceship), but overall this is something I don't think I'll ever dislike.

The Usual Suspects.
It was good, the direction was superb, due to it being the first time I've seen it, I didn't really get the whole plotline about when everything happened, can't say much, otherwise it'll spoil the movie for you peeps.

Well, I'm not sure what to say. The animation was brilliant, but the story pretty much sucked and had me lost and confused. The English voice acting was okay, although I would've rather watched it in Japanese (my little brother wanted to watch [yeah it's okay for him] but *coughhecan'treadcough*). The action scenes were pretty good too. The animation really did save it for me. On and it was on Blu Ray, so that's a plus.

Phantom of the Opera:
I absolutely love this movie and its music. in my opinion, the best musical franchise in the history of music. The story is touching and the music perfectly matches the moments. Sarah Brightman wouldve been a much better christine than emmy rossum but she was still an excellent christine!
9/10 (for the lack of sarah brightman, the original christine)
