I'm not very sure which one to purchase so I want some very honest/non-biased (please try to be non-biased if you are a fanboy/girl) opinions. PS3 will be a little too expensive for my tastes but my brother is willing to buy it and let me play it every so often. Revolution is looking very enticing and the virtual console feature has piqued my interest. I've also been dying to play Zelda and a good FPS with that controller. However, I'm not so sure how well it will be used. Xbox 360 looks like it will have a decent future but all of the anticipated games are being delayed longer and longer. There is also not much substance in the launch titles and my friend (who owns the console) has been spending most of his time playing Geometry Wars (an arcade download) instead of playing PDZ and PGR3(the launch titles he bought). I am posting this in both sections so I can get the best results.

You should avoid XBOX 360 at the moment. Some people have problems with them with overheating, console crashing, games getting scrached by the xbox 360 and theres only a few hits out there so it's not worth it. source

I'm not sure about the Revolution yet, so I cannot recommend anything at the moment. I don't recommend the overhyped xbox 360 until it's problems are fixed.

I heard somewhere that the Revolution will be compatible with Gamecube's controllers somewhere along the line (not 100% sure, but whatever), so if controllers are a problem, then I suppose you could use yer GC controllers. But since you don't seem to be too worried about the state of the controller, I doubt you'd find that interesting. Other than that, I don't know much about the Rev. I may or may not get one.

If you're friend sits there playing a silly little download game all day, that means it's good, right? To think you could get some okay/decent timewaster game, without dishing out wads of cash is nice, no? The 360, for me is looking best so far, but it's really just my opinion. I can't wait to get my hands on the likes of PGR3, Perfect Dark, and for some strange reason, Kameo. Look at the games being released on each of the consoles, just choose which looks more enticing to you, and be done with it.

I withdraw reluctantly.
I think the Revolution is tons better than the XBox 360, mainly because Nintendo home consoles can get better games that the XBox systems, which have games revolving around shooting and stuff like that.

But it really depends on what you like.

If you like Nintendo games, or want to have the novel features, choose Revolution.

If you want to have the next generation of shooting games, or related stuff, choose XBox 360.

Of course, this comes from a Nintendo fan, as well as an Xbox 360 disliker. But this is my opinion, and this is what I believe.

I like the games on both consoles but I don't have enough money, time etc. to buy both. I think I'll go with revolution because I'm interested in playing older nintendo titles that I missed out on. I also want to play the new smash bros., Zelda (it's ultimate with that controller), and a really good shooter. 360 will be a great console for shooters, with games like Halo 3 and Gears of War (Oblivion if you count it as a shooter) but I had more fun with gamecube (IMO the worst nintendo console) than xbox (very close though, kept it long because of halo 2 multi-player and online). Nintendo also seems to be garnering alot of third party support this time around, at least much more than last time.

None of them, I'm going for the PS3. So far the 360 and the Revolution just don't interest me, none of their games interest me. Perhaps this will change later on though.

I'm a Nintendo fan, but having played on Kameo on an Xbox 360 I have to say that it is a quality game, and looks amazing. I can't attest to how long it is, as I was playing it in a shop, however. If all of the games look and play as good as that I might have to get one, although I will most probably get a revolution because it looks like it will be cheaper and I can play all of the games that I missed out on in my deprived childhood, like Duck Hunt.

I got that base covered, I just wanted to know which of the other's I should buy.

I think despite a couple of games PS3 and 360 will be very similar, so, if you're getting a PS3 get a Revolution, but if you're not get a 360. Or follow your heart. Whatever.

I already have a 360, and I'm impressed with it. But I'm getting a Revolution as well, so I don't know what to recommend...

...yep
Dude the Xbox 360 SUCKS. Dude the graphics on half of the games are barely better than current-gen games. PGR whatever is good, so are some others. Otherwise it sucks. It overheats, it's ugly. Has huge controllers and everything. I sold mine on ebay as soon as I played the 5 games it came with. I will say though Call of Duty is fun, so are a few others. Otherwise Revolution will own. Revolution will have Super Smash Bros, Mario, Zelda, Metroid ect. You will be able to play Super Nes, Nes, and N64 games for download. And play Gamecube games. AND it will be the cheapest of the consoles. I'm probably going to get Rev and the PS3 when they come out.

The rev is coming out in April I think too :D

Good ay!

I can't vote in this. As much of a Nintendo fan as I am, I can't pick either one yet. I know I'm going to get the Revolution and not the Xbox360, but this is about you, not me. What games are you interested in?

Action games, namely FPSes? The Xbox360, much like the Xbox, will most likely have a lot of quality FPSes, and really great online play. The controller is familiar to anyone who has been gaming their whole life. For adventures, there won't be as many as there are action titles most likely, but they've got Rare as a 2nd party. Need I say more?

Revolution will most likely have simple games, like Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, and Wario Ware, as well as adventure and RPG games, like Tales (this is between Xbox360 and Revolution, not PS3, right?), Super Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon (if Genius Sonority can pull their act together and make a good one, that is). The controller will add new grounds to gameplay, but it won't feel as familiar as the traditional controller that the Xbox360 is using.

If you just can't decide, just wait. We'll probably need more info than this.

Also on behalf of Winter Snowblind: This kind of thing bothers me. You've sold it based solely on launch titles .--.; How many DSes do you think would've been sold if everyone judged it by the launch titles? And that "PGR whatever" statement proves that you are judging it by first impressions, and nothing more. And it being ugly is opinion.

Yep, you are definitely clueless.

<EDIT> I just looked at the poll results. 15 to 1. I suggest you take this poll to a different forum. This decision will affect you, not these guys. Find a site that isn't based on the franchises of a major game franchise.

I'm assuming you've never played on a HDTV.

What? The controller might be slightly big... My console has never overheated... You're just making biased opinions. :[

Lest you forget Nintendo's been in the gaming franchise for more than 10 years, and Microsoft has been in it what, 4 years? Cheapest of the consoles? LOL. No HDTV, Blu-ray, or advanced disc format. I wonder why it's going to be cheaper.

Gosh, do I hate biased decisions. :(

I really don't feel getting into an argument about the Xbox again, because that's all it ever is. But it's nice to see some other people here actually defending it.

But the part about the controller did bother me. You can diss the console yourself, and that's your own ignorant opinion, but what you said about the controller was complete BS, and made it sound like you haven't even seen a 360, let alone played it. For one thing, the whole "the controller is huge" started with the original Xbox, when the originall released the 'X' controller - which was quite big by normal standards, but bear in mind the controller was designed for older players and besides, they fixed the problem by releasing the 'S' controller, which is barley bigger than the DS2.

But the 360 controller is NOT big, in any way, shape nor form.
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a80/Tashums/DSCF0222.jpg

And I can also assure you, that most people who've actually used it have called it the single best gaming controller ever. Nice analogue sticks that are well placed, good easy to hit buttons, two shoulder buttons, two triggers that are great for racing games, the guide buttons which lights up to tell you what player you currently are, no wires.. etc. It's ONLY problem is the slightly unresponsive d-pad. But considering the height of it's use is for changing soundtracks, it's not much of a problem.

And just to actually contribute to the topic, the Revolution doesn't really seem like it's going to be used like a normal console, we don't really know enough about it to make decisions set in stone, but with the whole remote thing, to me it seems like it's going to be more of a fun mini-game sort of thing that you only use sometimes. I still plan on getting one eventually, but it mostly seems like it's trying a gimmicky like thing that's going to wear off just as quickly as the DS' touch screen. Right now, I'm more than happy with my 360, and awaiting some of the big games that are coming for that.

Gah, I hate that whole, "Nintendo's stuff is no more than gimmicks!!!" crap. Looks like you forgot about the expansion port. Besides, some of us are bored of the standard controller. The DS's touch screen idea hasn't worn off until it's actually used right (which it hasn't been, really).

Fox

Where's my fanfare?
The DS touch screen actually is finding heavy use in my hands, whilst I play AC:WW. I hate the whole use D-Pad/analog stick to select item, mini-menu pops up, select option, move/etc. and the amount of times you select the wrong option and have to do over gets irritating. With the stylus its just tap, drag, drop. Like using a mouse.

I can see the revolution controller feature becoming an added tool to expand upon games that are already established, but also paving the way for new styles of gaming.

Sorry, but that's all it really is. I love the DS, it's awesome but the touch screen is just really a gimmick. How many of it's games would be different if it didn't have it? At most it's used for shortcuts, or a map. The only times it's used extensivly is in mini games, such as Feel the Magic or Wario Ware.

So you'll forgive me for having my doubts about the Revolutions remote. It will no doubt be used quite extensivly at first with all the launch games, etc, but later on it'll likely become more of a bonus thing that isn't really needed. Just like the DS' touch screen.

It's certainly going to be a lot of fun to use. But as for it being a massive revolution that changes the path of videogames forever? I can't see that happening.

The Revo has a lot of questions to be answered at E3 and I already am losing interest in it purely because Nintendo are being so tight lipped about it. I hope that they don't shoehorn SSBM into using the controller, as unless they do something amazing with it, it would suck. The best thing would be to create new franchises (While producing the old ones on normal controlers) rather than fit existing ones around it

As for the Xbox, I don't know why but I have something against the controller, it's brilliant in just about everyway for playing games and it is only a small and when I think about it stupid quibble, but it has no character. I've grown attached to the big bulky XBox and it's controller and it seems a bit small. Other than that Microsoft have done a brilliant job, especially with XBox Live, they'll never get enough Japanese support, so I will be needing the Revolution or PS3, but I can get over that and be glued on XBL

What about Metroid Prime Hunters? Without the Touch Screen, that wouldn't work. Sure the second screen used only for a map but that's better, isn't it? I'd much prefere to have a second screen for a map instead of having to press a different button to get it up or have it in the bottom right of the screen. Also, what about Yoshi Touch & Go? that uses the touch screen for EVERYTHING. And, my sister is OBSESSED with this game which just shows that Nintendo has made another customer and she'll probably stick with nintendo forever now. Finally, as soon as some devolper is bright enough to relise that a RTS game is perfect for a touch screen, that'll be another game which uses the touch screen.
