If only rhyperior can get that lovely solid rock ability, then how do you know that you'll get it when you hatch a rhydon?

I think if the Rhyhorn has Rock Head, then it will have Solid Rock when its a Rhyperior.
Yep, it'll change his ability. It can also get Lightningrod.
I think all rhyperior have solid rock...
Nope, Rhyperior can have Lightning Rod too.

An Ability. Any attacks that are Super Effective on Rhyperior have their damage lowered.

Yeah, many pokemon will change their ability. Take poochyena to mightyena for example...
Just to clear things up-
If you hatch/catch a Rock Head Rhyhorn/Rhydon in Diamond/Pearl and evolve it into a Rhyperior, it will turn into a Solid Rock Rhyperior guarenteed.
If you migrate a Rock Head Rhyhorn/Rhydon from a GBA game into Diamond/Pearl, there is a chance that it will evolve into a Lightningrod Rhyperior, since the game randomizes the code.

Ok. I wouldn't mind a lightningrod rhyperior.
Lightning Rod is only good for Double Battles, when you're fighting togheter with a Gyarados or something.
Solid Rock is overall better.

Solid Rock is THE reason to use Rhy, besides 101 Subs and great Atk/Def.

You can always use it with a Water or Flying Pokémon or something in a double battle. It can help.

Marowak is generally better for that imo, since it's wasting Rhy's potential. Wak isn't gonna be doing much with Rock Head anyway since it gets a nice physical movepool and doesn't have to resort to DE.
