It's fairly common knowledge that it exists. The two shows were pretty popular back in the day so crossovers were bound to happen a lot. And something "childhood ruining" is definitely going to stick out in peoples minds and be mentioned as a joke quite frequently.

I don't know anyone who liked the first episode. The dub was good but the episode itself was awful. Defeating a Rattata is not very suspenseful.

The whole series is basically a strange progression of awful. But I guess the Toonami line-up has to be re-shuffled once in a while.
