It was nearly dusk; there were dark clouds overhead, and the horizon was painted a brilliant orange. A strange, wolf-like creature was dashing across the dusty road. It was large, and had fiery orange fur, sleek, black stripes, and a fluffy, pale yellow mane and tail. Its deep, yellow eyes were fixed upon the road, as though it were determined to reach a certain place. It was a fire pokemon called Arcanine.

Atop the Arcanine(Gabrielle) was a young man named Caleb. He had short, thick brown hair, and light brown eyes. He wore a light brown jacket, blue jeans, and white trainers.

"C'mon Gabrielle, faster girl!" he pleaded to the Arcanine. Gabrielle then gave a great and majestic howl. A beautiful sound it was; graceful, it seemed to float through the air; if any had been around to hear it, they would surely stop to listen to its mysterious beauty. Then Gabrielle fufilled her friends plea, and accelerated. She soon became a radiant orange, black, and pale yellow blur in the ever-darkening light. Their destination? Saffron City.

But they are not the only ones traveling to Saffron. While Caleb and Gabrielle danced down the road at seemingly impossible speeds, two horned, horse-like pokemon were trotting down a different raod to Saffron. They had pale yellow coats, with an unatural, faint grey tinge. their hooves were pure black and hardr than diamonds. Their fiery manes were also an unatural color; they were blackish purple. Their eyes were crimson s blood. They were fire pokemon called Rapidash.

Aside from their strange coloring, there was something else strange about them; their eyes were expressionless. The door to their hearts had clearly been closed. Riding them, were two mysterious men dressed in black. The Rapidashs climbed a final hill, and looked down upon the once proud city. After Team Dark took over, many people fled from their homes and went underground. The only builsding that seemed occupied was Silph Co., The men's target.

Silph Co. had created a special flute that could open the doors to the hearts of pokemon that had been taken by Team Dark. Team Dark is now attempting to destroy the flute before the Rebels get hold of it. Naturally, Caleb has learned of their plan, and set out on Gabrielle to stop the two men, who are indeed Shadow Crusaders, the Team Dark members closest to Umbra, from burning the city to ashes.

Team Dark . . .

Those two words echoed constantly in Charity's mind as she struggled to evade her pursuers. Team Dark were the reason she had no-one, the reason she was on the run and in fear for her life. It hadn't always been this way. Once, she had had a family who loved her, who were proud to see her following in their footsteps to become a Pokemon Master. Now, all that was gone - and it was Team Dark who were responsible.

She thought of how things used to be, of her parents and the Pokemon journey she had set out on as a nervous ten-year-old, accompanied by her Nidoran female. Now, it was six years later, her Nidoran was a Nidoqueen and her world had changed beyond all recognition. It had all started when a mysterious organisation emerged from the shadows and began to conquer the world. Already, Kanto, Johto and Hoenn had fallen, the people plunged into a world of tyranny where you had the choice of either obeying Team Dark or getting killed . . .

Charity's father had defied Team Dark, refusing to bow before one of the Shadow Crusaders, the sinister group which enforced Team Dark's rule. The result was something she still shuddered to think of . . .

Late one night, she and her family were woken by a knock on the door. Angry and insistant, it continued for two solid minutes until it became clear that there was no way whoever it was would just go away if you ignored them. Charity's father moved to open the door, but, before he could do so, two men burst in. They were Shadow Crusaders and they meant business.

"You're under arrest!" one of them barked. "You and your whole family!"

"For what?" demanded Charity's father. "What have my family done?"

"Don't act dumb with us! You defied the law, which means you no longer deserve to live!"

"But my wife and children . . ." He was cut short by a brutal kick, which knocked him to the floor.

"They are tainted by association," the Shadow Crusader said grimly. "None who defy Team Dark may life - and nor may their families!"

TBC . . .

Ray glared down at a young boy in his feet. The boy was hurt, holding tightly his Chikorita that was in bad shape. The leaf on its head was burnt, and it had bruises all over its tiny, green body.

Ray kneeled down, and the boy closed his eyes. He was shaking, fearing for his life as well as his Pokémon´s. But Ray had no intention of hurting them, as long as he get to take what he wanted. He reached out on the boy´s backbag, and pulled out a beautiful flute. The flute would´ve shine like a glass if teh night wouldn´t bee so dark that it was hard to see anything.

Ray examined the flute for a while, but soon he threw the on the ground, causing the flute to shatter into hundreds of small pieces.

The small boy still sitting there stared in ave at the pieces. He was confused, and as he turned to look back at the Ray, he was nowhere to be seen.

"Darn!" Ray shouted ten minutes after, as he broke another glass flute he had taken from a young woman. "These flutes aren´t the ones I´m looking for. But I heard that someone already has one of the flutes Silph.Co created... But who?" He turned around to look at a black hound liek creature with two huge horns growing from its heead. It had skull like thing covering its head, and it had similiar bones on its back and around its paws. Its tail was skinny and had a arrow like end. Its red eyes glowed in the dark, showing no emotions whatsoever.

"No matter", Ray said grinning as he walked to the Houndoom. "We will find it. And if nobody has it except for the Silph.Co, he will pay for his lie", Ray continued, referring to another member of Team Dark, whom had told him that one of teh flutes was already in possesion of a trainer, and that they are going after the ones in Saffron, while Ray should go after the other one.

The dark hound nodded, its eyes glowing dangerously. Ray sat on the hound´s back. And although the dog was skinny, it was strong enough to stand still while having its trainer on its back.

"Let´s get going then. To GoldenRod", Ray said, and at that instant, the hound set off, running incredibly fast for something so skinny. The due raged away from the small town, running trough the fields towards Violet, for a shortcut to Goldenrod.

A gold streak zooms across the sky. At first glance it seems like a larger than normal shooting star, but as you look at it harder, you can see that it is a bird pokemon of some type. Under some examination, you would be able to realise that it had someone dressed in black on it's back, and you would then immediately look away and forget you ever saw it, for fear of angering a Shadow Crusader. But you wouldn't know that were your fear was unjustified, for riding the pigeot was the opposite of your fear. A rebel.

A cry of warning woke Tasha from her reverie. She shook her head, causing her black braid to whip around behind her, then leaned forward and squinted against the rushing wind at what had caused the disturbance. Ahead was a flock of Fearow, their long narrow beaks glinting in the light of the full moon. She patted the pigeot's neck reasuringly then sat back upright again, silently scalding herself for not paying attention. She had been contemplating the path she had chosen, whether she had made the right dicision all those years ago. Had she? If she hadn't tried to fight back against Team Dark, she wouldn't be what she was now. A fugitive. But if she hadn't defended her self, she would have been a one of them, she glanced down at the city below. A hostage, living a fake life, in constant fear of Team Dark. This way, she was free. She had made the right decision. She breathed in deeply, at peace with herself.
"Fleet, full speed to Goldenrod. Land by the Entrance." The pigeot schreeched ascent and began decending, using gravity to accelerate. They arrived at their destination within ten minutes. Returning Fleet, Tasha walked carefully to the door and whispered the password. With a muffled click, the door opened and she slipped inside...

The Arcanine called Gabrielle ran faster, faster, until they finally reached the entrance to Saffron city. She skidded to a hault at the entrance, the dust cloud behind her beginning to settle. Caleb dismounted her quickly, and rushed into the city. It was almost completely deserted. Aside from a few wild pokemon, the only life in the city seemed to be coming from the Silph Co. building. I must warn them... before-- But his thoughts were interuppted by a flaming torch smashing right through the window of an empty house right near him.

A few of the wild Rattata inside screamed. Gabrielle quickly turned at the sound. I have to stop this before they reach the Silph Co... But where are they... Then he spotted them. Two Shadow Crusaders and their steeds, Shadow Rapidash. Quickly, Caleb pulled a pokeball off his belt and threw it in the air.

"Go, Karzell!," He shouted, and a light burst from the pokeball, revealing a huge turtle with two cannons hidden in its shell. It was a Blastoise named Karzell.

"Karzell! Put out the fire and get anything living out of it! Gabrielle, we need to stop those Crusaders before they reach the Silph Co.!" As Caleb mounted Gabrielle, The Blastoise got to work on putting out the fire, spraying water from the cannons in its shell. Gabrielle dashed straight towards the Rapidash, who were headed straight for the Silph Co. The only complication was... Rapidash are some of the fastest pokemon known to man. Despite Gabrielle's incredible speed, it wouldn't be enough to catch them...

Ray jumped off from his hound, looking around. He had arrived at Goldenrod, but he still wasn´t sure what he was looking for. A flute, of course, but he had no description of it, nor was he sure was the rumours even true. Maybe they all were in the building of Silph.Co? In that case, he had been fooled.

Thinking of that, he hit the wall next to him, but instead of letting out his anger, he just got a bleeding hand. He cursed quietly and wrapped a cloth around his hand. The black hound looked around as well, its blood red eyes noticing even the slightest movements. It waited for something to come. Something that it could fight against. Yes, it was bored.

"Should we head to Saffron, then?" Ray asked from the hound, who rapidly turned over and grinned. Of course it wanted to go. Most likely, a battle would be raging there soon. What an opportunity for him. Ray saw that the dark Pokémon had no objections, so he turned to face the train station.

"Still, I can´t be without thinking that a flute like that is in possesion of one of the people in this city..." he took out one of the Pokéballs on his belt and threw it in the air. In a flash of red light, a Pokémon resembling an ancient, flying dinosaur formed in front of him. It flapped its bat like wings and cried out its name; Aerodactyl.

"Sharpace, you stay here", Ray informed to the flying Pokémon. "If you spot anything suspicious, or any clues of the flutes whereabouts, fly to Saffron and inform us."

Sharpace the Aerodactyl slowly nodded, and flapping its might wings it took flight, flying on top of one of the huge buildings. It turned around its head, its small, sharp eyes gazing upon the city. Even the smallest movement and he would notice.

Ray and Inferno the Houndoom walked to the station. To their fortune, the station was always open and completely free. Ray had no idea why they would run it for free, but he truly didn´t care. The only thing that mattered at the moment was, that he was headed for Saffron.

Jase went threw a young woman's purse while his snorlax was pounding up the lady's clefable. He didn't know exactly what he was looking for. He doubted this woman had anything. Jase had come to her from a tip he got back in Pewter City saying a lady in Viridian city has a beautiful flute and it seems magical when she plays it. Jase finally found the flute and threw the purse onto the ground.

"Please, do not take my flute! My brother from the Hoenn region made it for me! Please do not harm it!" the lady pleaded.

Jase walked up to the beat-up clefable and played the flute. It had no effect on the pokemon. Jase doubted being fainted had anything to do with it. Jase just nodded to his giant snorlax, and it nodded back. The giant pokemon lifted the clefable and placed it beside the confused lady. Jase then handed her the flute knowing it was useless and it obviously meant a lot to her.

He returned his snorlax to its pokeball and released another pokeball. The blinding white light revealed a dragon like pokemon. It had large wings and two horns on its head. It was known as a charizard, except it was coloured strangly. It was all black and had piercing blood red eyes.

"Alright Charizard. This flute was made by Silph.Co, so lets try Saffron next" Jase instructed hoping on his dragon like pokemon.

They took off into the night sky towards saffron.

Ryan crouched on top of a high building with his Sceptile, Grovyle, and Treecko. The 4 peered down, for any sign of danger. Ryan checked to make sure he had the pokenav incase he would have to call his buddy Sean, his mom, or his dad, who were in the underground Silph control room. Ryan heard the hoofs of the Shadow Crusaders' Rapidashs. He was ready to report an attack any minute now. He calmed his pokemon, so no one could here them.
He activated the silph-rebel caumoflauge cloak, so no one could see them.
He heard shattering glass, and saw a building go up in flames a few blocks away. He gulped. "Get ready." He muttered.

Finally making it saffron city, Jase and his charizard blasted building from building. They were flying at fast speeds, with powerful fire attacks blasting the buildings they passed. Jase grew acustomed to the ways of team dark.

Him and his charizard flew high up, right over silph, but then Jase saw a boy on the roof. He had binoculars on looking at the streets. It was obvious he had not noticed Jase and his charizard above him.

"A look-out eh? Whatever, Charizard use fire blast!" he ordered. The large shiny charizaard launched a star shaped fire taack followed by a stream of flames straight at the look-out.

Ryan felt heat. He noticed a charizard that had just launched fire at him. "Dodge!" He said. His pokemon and him jumped off the roof. The charizard flew down and landed. It had a trainer on it's back. "Sceptile, use Hyper Beam!" Ryan shouted. His Septile blasted the attack at the charizard, who dodged it. The pokemon soon came ramming toward Ryan. "Grovyle, Protect!" A large shield formed and sent charizard zooming back. "Now, Treecko, quickly use Quick Attack!" Treecko darted forward and rammed into Charizard.

CHarizard was pushed back a little, but the little treecko did almost nothing. Jase then hopped on charizard and flew back in the sky. Most likely the trainer thought he was retreating but then suddenly the blurr rushed and rammed into the sceptile. It was an Aerial ace attack. The large grass pokemon was sent flying back into a wall, but got back up and fired another hyper beam.

"Dodge," Jase commanded. Charizard was only narrowly able to dodge it. Suddenly both grovyle and treecko popped out of no where and attempted a dual pound attack, but charizard dodged those too.

"Oh, c'mon! 3vs1 is hardly fair!" Jase commented as he threw another pokeball in the air. The ball revealed a giant pokemon known as snorlax.
"Snorlax use eathquake! And charizard use another Aerial ace!" Jase ordered.

The large snorlax jumped high, and came down and smashed the ground below, cauding a massive tremor and charizard disappaered in a blurr once again, deciding who to hit.

"Were Here!!!" Screamed a young girl dressed in blue.
"Ahhh finally..." Responded Roth
Roth and the girl slowly and carefully approached the temple.
"SNAP" "AHHH HELP ME" Roth quickly reahed down his hand and
pulled up the dangling girl. It was a pitfall trap."You must be more careful
Elizabeth..., Were near a temple. Their could be traps every where."
Roth an Elizabeth were in a thick jungle near fortree city.
They both silently started walking over the jungle, Roth ocassionally stopped to see if the upcoming ground was safe. "So your sure this is the right temple?" Asked Roth. "Positive."
"So how long have you been a professor Roth?"
"hmm..? I guess 12 years..."
"Whered you study?"
"Mmmhmmm...."

Roth was to busy gazing at the temple to notice the girl.
They climbed over a steep slope and peeked into the temple.
It was a classic temple. Light stones, Dusty, Ancient writting,
and a shrine in the middle with an octagon shaped gem.
"There it is!" Shrieked the girl. She bounded off towards it.
"Elizabeth! No! Its a trap!" It was to late, she pulled off the gem.
"Oops...." The wall started rumbling. "Craaaaack!"
A Golem hopped out of the wall and charged for the girl.
"Sigh..." Roth had a tired face expression.
"Claydol! Go!" Roth let the ball out and Claydol materialized.
"Now use Ancient power!" Claydol's eye glows as it unleashes a wave
of rocks. "Boom!" The Golem is sent flying through the wall.
Roth walked to the octagon lying in the floor and picked it up.
Then he just casually started walking out.
"Wait!" Elizabeth got up and ran towards Roth.

"So now were gonna bring it back to my fathers museum... right?"
"About that..... I thank you for leading m here...after all I did save your life from those houndoom...But i'm afraid i cant do that....
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN" Elizabeth shrieked shrinking back.
"I used you...But i am sorry..."
Roth reached into his belt compartment and pulled out a capsule.
"But why?...."
Roth pressed down and a button and through it at elizabeth.
Purple gas started filling the room as Roth jumped out.
"Youll be fine Elizabeth...You wont remember me.."
"Claydol return!" Claydol was sucked back up into he dark blue ball.
"Xatu go!, Fly!"
Psycic energy went around Roth and started pulling him through the air.
Roth looked at the octagon in deep thought....Roth plucked a dark blue pokenav out of hois vest pocket.
"Hello team HQ? Th lead for the gem was a dead end..."

Roth Flies off towards sootopolis city..

This is the format i use. sorry if its inconvenient

Ray lifted his head, and narrowed his eyes, trying his best to see the city of Saffron far in the horizon as the train approaced its destination. The lights and neon signs hurt his eyes, for the train had went under ground for a long time now, but Ray didn´t blink. He had focused to seek for the building of Silph, and it wasn´t hard to find; it was the largest building of the city, towering every house and market. The train started to slow down, and at the very second it had stopped, Ray jumped out of the window and ran out of the station.

The night was dark, but the city itself was all lighted up by the blinking signs, the moon and stars, and a strange flash of light on the sky.

Ray narrowed his eyes, trying his best to see what was the bright light, and after a while, he saw it was a star shaped blast of flames. It was formed above the higehst of the buildings, Silph.Co, of course, and because of that, it made him curious. He looked around, and though he didn´t see anyone, he knew that other Shadow Crusaders had to be nearby.

He ran closer and saw that a battle was taking place on the roof tops, but couldn´t tell what Pokémon they were. He put down his hood, so that he could see better, revealing his black hair that began swaying in the night´s breeze. He had no flying Pokémon with him anymore, so he wasn´t able to fly up and see what was going. Soon, though, he saw that he didn´t need to, as the fighters came down.

Two boys, and four Pokémon. Ray stood in the shadows, unseen by the two, but he heard the other one release a Snorlax. Soon, the earth started shaking, apparently the fat normal type had used Earthquake. Ray put the hood on again, and walked to the scene. He didn´t know which side those two were on, nor did he care. They were standing in front of the entrance to the building. A building he had to get in to.

"Move", Ray said to the two, walking up to them. And though he said it quite quietly, it was loud enough for the two to hear it clearly.

Sootopolis was finally in view. It was a beautiful city, Like
nothing he had ever seen. Roth and Xatu started circling downwards
towards the city. It was a habit. When Xatu landed he always had to circle
around until he slowly hovered down to the ground. "Thwoomp!" Roths feet touched the gound. He gazed up into the cloudless skies and smiled. He started walking towards the near by house. It was pretty bad, It had many cracks and was starting to fall apart. Roth reached out his hand and knocked.

"Knock! Knock!"
"Who is it?" replied a deep voce from the inside.
"You know dam well who!" Roth yelled.

The door Quickly was flung open to reveal a very busy office.
There were papers everywhere and atleast 10 computers turned on inside.
Roth could barely move. Roth reached down and picked up a piece of paper.
It depicted plans to create machines using the steel from pokemon.

"Your still sick in the head i see..."
"Sick in the head???, Bloody hell i'm sick in the head! Imagine it. You could fit up to 50 team dark members in one giant living steelix.. LIKE a living ship!!!!"
"Johnny...Thats a terrible idea....anyways i have something new for you to look at."

Roth flung the papers into the garbage.

"Roth are you mad!? What are yo..."
" SHUT UP!"

The man cowered into the corner.
Roth reached into his pocket and pulled out the octagon setting it on the table. Roth looked at johnny and grinned. Johnny looked up at Roth witha terrified face expression.

"Wha....What...about team dark?.. I thought...you were suppose to give them this...." whimpered johnny.
"Team dark?...This is my artifact, I've done more then enough for them. Now your going to figure out how to work this...or i'll get out dusclops again...."

The terrified man quickly got on his computer and started typing out mathmatical theories.

"I'll be back in a week....Now youd better get to work..."

Roth walked out with a grin on his face.
"Ring Ring" Roth reached his hand into his pocket and pulled out a pokenav.
"Yes what is it?" Roth asked.
"Saffron you say?, be right there.

Roth let out xatu once more and set off towards the city...

The Charizard had dissapeared. "Triple Protect, now!" Shouted Ryan, his 3 pokemon creating a large shield. Charizard came out of the sky and rammed into the shield, doing nothing. "Scratch him with Leaf Blade Sceptile!" Ryan said. Sceptile furiously slashed the Charizard. "Now, release shield! Hyper Beam!" All three pokemon released the shield and fired a tri-Hyper Beam at once, but it was at Snorlax, the least expected pokemon. They then fired another one at Charizard when he wasn't looking. Ryan noticed a cloaked figure all of a sudden. "What is your business here?" Ryan asked. When the person had proof they were a rebel, Ryan finally decided to let them in, but after the battle, because this opponent was a Team Dark grunt, or atleast he thought so.

Ray remained silent, as it seemed that the two hadn´t noticed him yet. The Pokémon kept fightning, and finally the boy closer to him turned around to face him. With a suspcious look on his face, he asked:
"What is your business here?"

Rau stood there, pondering an answer to the boy´s question. Should he say he was a rebel? Or that he was a Shadow Crusdarer? He didn´t know was the boy on his side or not, so he decided to give an answer that was not leaning towards neither of the options. He took a step forward and answered:

"I must get inside that building. It is my duty. I will ask you once more to move", he took a look at the Pokémon fightning nearby, scanning them as he tried to see their power level. Who knows, it may be that he has to join that fight.

"Well," Ryan was afraid to say this incase that person was an enemy. "If your a rebel, then, I'm a rebel too, and, I COULD USE SOME HELP HERE!" Ryan said.
A large flamethrower hit him, but he knew it was weaker, Charizard was running out of energy. "Sceptile, Giga Drain!" Ryan yelled.

"Well", the biy said, looking a bit unsure as to how to answer. After a while of hestitating, he finally continued: "If your a rebel, then, I´m a rebel too, and, I COULD USE SOME HELP HERE!"

Ray smiled in the covers of his hood. Now he had finally gotten the information he wished for. He knew the side of the boy. Just then, Flamethrower attack scroched the air near them, as the giant lizard breathed out fire. Ray slowly walked beside the boy whom had just ordered his Sceptile to attack yet again. Ray looked over to the other boy and nodded slowly, knowing that he had to be part of Team Dark, since a rebel was fightning with him.

Ray turned his hooded face to the rebel. He was still smiling as he said: "Since it seems that you are busy here, I will take it that you don´t mind me taking the flute?" with that, he walked past the rebel and took out his sword. After few slashes, the door´s lock broke, and Ray walked inside. He knew that he had now indicated that was in fact a member of Team Dark. But he believed that those two could handle their fight on their own. It was noen of his business, after all.

The room he had stepped in was quiet, and it surprised him that there ww
ere no other members of team Dark yet. He hadn´t seen them on his way to the building either. But the town was big, and it could be that they were holding some other rebels at the other side of the town.

He looked around from the water pool in the middle to few plants leaning against the walls. The service counter was empty, and it seemed that the people in the building had escaped to the upper floors. Ray didn´t know where they had hid it, nor what has happened here previously, nor was he sure if there were other memebrs of Team Dark upstairs.

He walked to the elevator, but as he pushed the button, nothing happened. At that point he noticed that the place was dark. The electricty must have been cut off. Still, he couldn´t help but wonder why was this place so quiet? Why did the city look normal, like nothing unusual would be going there?

The people in the city... were they in the city anymore? Where were the other members of Team Dark? It all got confusing to him, and as the only wise and clear decision he could make, he moved to the stairs and began climbing, not paying attention to the two boys fightning outside.

"Finally..." Jase said to himself. "I thought I saw another member coming this way on the way here. Now I can get serious. Charizard, Snorlax, no more fooling around. We served our purpose to let the guy know we're on his side, go now let's end this," he declared throwing another pokeball in the air. The poekball shot out a blinding white light to reveal an umbreon.

"Umbreaon here is even faster than charizard. Now try using protect on this, Charizard use fire Blast, Snorlax Hyper beam and umbreon use shadow ball!" Jase ordered. The fire lizard blasted a fire blast that was much more powerful than its earlier blasts, followed by a powerful hyper beam and a dark sphere of dark energy straight at the three grass pokemon.

"That's what you get for meesing with me," Jase said.

"Whoosh!"
Roth looked down at what resembled saffron city, But it was different. It was being torn apart from its very being. Flames everywhere and so much destruction. Roth came down with a meteor onto the building top.

"Hey Jase, Need some help?"
Before he had a chance to reply, Roth reached into a compartment and pulled out a capsule.

"Here ya go, made it myself, it will maximize pokemon power for 3 hours, I'm going in to silphco."
Roth kicked the ceiling in and started his descent. on the Top floor he saw a computer."hmm...Maybe i can find the flutes with this".

Roth went to turn on the computer, but there was no power.
"Guess I gotta find it myself."

Roth burst through some more floors. On his way he spotted a pokemon trainer. He didnt have time for any distractions so he continued down into the basement. It was dark cold and covered with metal. His foot steps echoed as he walked towards an armored door.

Roth knew this was it. "Claydol Use physcic!" The armored door was ripped off. He then walked by boxes of undeveloped technologies, until he reached the back. He saw a box covered with dust, He easily brushed it off.

"Jackpot!"

He then jumped through the walls into the big battle field.

"Hey everybody!, Look what i got!" screemed Roth happily as he waved the box of flutes in the air.
