What about when he battled with Cyndaquil against Ursula in the Daybreak Contest, and with Pachirisu in the Grand Festival. At that GF, he and Pachi knocked out Gabite and Flareon.

But alone, yes, his one moment was shattered after losing control when battling Carnivine in the Lilypad Contest.
