Please rate my team in Emerald for Battle Frontier (Battle Tower and Battle Pyramid)

    Pikachu@LightBall LVL 34
Trained in Spe & SP. Atk EV

    SP. Atk:62
    SP. Def:33

    Volt Tackle
Very powerful but rarely used due to recoil. Used for suicide kills.

    Used when on low health.

    Double Team
    Raises evasion.

    Thunder Wave
    Open to other moves.

    Azumarill@SeaIncense (Breeding Purposes) LVL 45
    Trait:Huge Power
    Not EV trained yet.

    SP. Atk:68
    SP. Def:86

With high HP comes high Substitute ability.

    Focus Punch
Makes use of Huge Power and Sub.

Main attacking move because Spheal could only handle 4 HM's.

    Open for change

Altaria@Quick Claw (Only there because bag was full) LVL 40
    Trait:Natural Cure
EV is slightly trained at speed.

    SP. Atk:81
    SP. Def:96

Main attack with good coverage. (I guess)

    Dragon Dance
To make fly stronger and faster.

    Hits anything fly can't.

With boosted speed this is quite efficient

    Smeargle@SmokeBall (Training Purposes) LVL 22
    Trait:Own Tempo
EV is not trained yet (but probably a few in speed thanks to Golbat)

    SP. Atk:17
    SP. Def:30

    Awesome priority move.

The only reason I have this is so I can sketch transform

    Lairon LVL 38
    Trait:Rock Head
    EV is not trained yet

    SP. Atk:55
    SP. Def:59

    Iron Tail
    Probably gonna be changed.

    Iron Defense
You could never go wrong with more defense.

Wannabe Earthquake (don't wanna use TM since it learns it naturally)

    Take Down
    No recoil is soooo fun

Blaziken@Charcoal (better that than nothing right?) LVL 45
EV is not directed anywhere. Just killin' everything.
    Nature:Naive (yay for speed)

    SP. Atk:122
    SP. Def:66

    Double Kick
    Gonna be sky uppercut

    This may have to change

    Bulk Up

    Blaze Kick
    Might be Overheat soon.

You should replace Volt Tackle with Hidden Power if it was special type. If HP type were grass, water or ice, then you can cover Pikachu's weakness to ground.

I am not a fan of Azumarill, but I would replace Focus Punch with Body Slam. The paralyzing chance will make up for Azumarill's low speed.

Modest isn't the best nature for Altaria. It works fine as physical or mixed sweeper, but not purely special. Dragon Dance is the main support Altaria has to raise its average Attack and Speed. Replace Sing with Attract if it is female, or Thunder Wave.

Sorry about Smeargle... I don't know how to help you with it. It seems to personal for me. You can mount its moveset to whatever you like most. I personally don't like and never used Smeargle.

With Iron Head you need to teach it Double-Edge (replace Take Down with it). You do it right if you intend to substitute Mud-Slap with Earthquake.

For Blaziken, I have three suggestions:

    Critical hit moveset:
    -Blaze Kick
    -Focus Energy
    -Earthquake/Rock Slide
    @Scope Lens

Critical hits is all this moveset intends to cause on foe. Your preferable moves would be Blaze Kick and Slash as EQ/RS got a normal critical-hit ratio.

    Physical sweeper:
    -Swords Dance/Bulk Up
    -Sky Uppercut
    -Rock Slide
    @Leftovers/Shell Bell

Use SD/BU once or two and you'll sweep everything if you have maximized Blaziken's Attack.

    Mixed sweeper:
    -Flamethrower/Fire Blast
    -Sky Uppercut
    -Sunny Day
    -Swords Dance/Bulk Up
    @Charcoal/Black Belt

Predictable moveset for Blaziken, it works fine. You have only two damage moves, both are STAB, and each one of them has a support. You can either attack foe's Defense or Special Defense (the one in more disadvantage).
  3. That a nice team! When i play Pokemon Emerald i only train my starter. I wanted to train other Pokemon too so as to have a balance team. But it is too hard.. LoL!

Pikachu: I'll check what type the Hidden Power is.

Azumarill: Hmmm Body Slam might be good. I'll research (I always do)

Altaria: It's a mixed sweeper. Dragon dance to boost Fly and Modest for Dragonbreath (I actually caught and used the first one I found. I wasn't looking for the perfect one)

    Smeargle: Don't worry about him

    Lairon: Double Edge is perfect

Blaziken: I might do the crit moveset but I don't have scope lens (yet).

Don't bring Pikachu to the Pyramid. The Pyramid doesn't allow you to bring your own items, and without Light Ball, Pikachu is just an extremely fragile pokémon with zero offence and will add pretty much nothing to your team. In fact, I'd say Pikachu is too slow and fragile for the entire Battle Frontier if you want to go far. Slow pokémon can be good, but they have to be able to take hits before dishing them out and Pikachu dies to any STAB move from fully evolved pokémon. Even with Light Ball its offences are very good but Pikachu won't be OHKOing things that it doesn't hit super-effectively, at best 2KOing, and Pika just doesn't have impressive super effective coverage. There are simply too much pokémon that beat Pikachu one-on-one easily for it to be a good choice.

Pikachu is the worst of your team, but in fact every one of them is sub-par for Frontier purposes. You need to use strong pokémon, yours are UU or even NU in competitive terms for a reason, and that reason is that they are outclassed by better ones. Altaria is not nearly as good as Salamence, Aggron is not nearly as good as Metagross, Azumarill doesn't get a good synergy between special STAB and Huge Power, Smeargle has terrible stats and should only be used for niche uses (like Baton Passing Ingrain), and Blaziken can work but is quite fragile and slow.

When going to the Battle frontier, go with pokémon like Tyranitar, Salamence, Latios, Starmie, Metagross, Suicune, Snorlax, Zapdos, Blissey, or Swampert.
