Rocking To Guitar Hero.

Yes, there has been a topic like this, but it's over a month old.

Basically Guitar Hero is a game that has been critically acclaimed by many sources like IGN (9.2) and Gamespot (9.0).

You play with a controller shaped like the Gibson SG Guitar, with 5 buttons on it. There is also a start/select button, a whammy bar(onto that later) and a well, "chord player".

The song selection is great, imo. With stars like David Bowie, Franz Ferdinand, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Ozzy Osbourne, this game will keep you partying way into the night if you really want to.

The gameplay is simple, with speeds depending on the type of song you play and how far up the ranks it is. There are 5 levels, with 4 difficulties. You can also buy extra songs, guitars and stuff later into the game, which gives the replay value a boost.


Aside from my very mini-review, here's a discussion of a game that was hidden in E3, but was a huge hit all around the world!
Personally, my favourite song is....oh god, I don't know! Probably Ace of Spades, Cheat on the Church, Take me Out or Iron Man(My band is called 'WE ARE !RON MEN" ffs).

I own the game and find it quite fun to play. I am however, concerned that some might think that "thats all there is to guitar playing" the oversimplified strumming on ONE STRING kind of bothers me because a real guitar is capable of so much more.

ive got the games and beaten them in all diffacultys but i agree with Chilled2m7 real guitar is a whole lot more difficult and complex

It's a simulation-type game, so you can't expect it to be exactly like a real guitar.

Meh, I honestly like Guitar Freaks better as a guitar game.

It has more diversity in songs (For example, it has stuff like "Smoke on Water" as well as Konami original songs and Beatmania/DDR songs), the layout is better (the TOP-DOWN thing is better, IMO), and the songs go much faster (which means you have to strum pretty darn fast).

Onto Guitar Hero itself now, I do own the first game. I do like the game, but I prefer Guitar Freaks over it, since it's been around much longer and I'm just so used to it.

Speaking of, I've heard the creators of GH are planning on making an Accordion game...

Gah, why doesn't Konami just release Drummania already. =_=
It would probably sell really well if they advertise it enough, because I know there are a lot of people WHO WOULD LOVE to play a Drum simulator.
