i've restarted my leafgreen version, and i would like to get a krabby early in the game, so i could train it for my team.

i've already got the old rod, but is it possible to catch krabby with it, i think not, cause the pkm i'm getting is magikarp, so my question is when will i be able to catch krabby, if it's not possible with the old rod?

With a Old Rod you can ONLY catch Magikarp

That's right. You get the Super Rod on Route 12 and the Good Rod in Fuschia City.
