It has made its return. Yeah. I felt the need to save this fanfiction for the sake of my sanity.
It doesn't have much description, really, but that's how its supposed to be. Too much description had always drove me away from reading and writing my own fanfiction even. Its not very different, except some more stuff inserted. Every chapter is neccessary.
Chapter One
Fateful Meeting! Green Lonely Savior!
Prince Drew gazed out over the edge of the balcony, recovering from his horrifying encounter from meeting Princess Grace. His green eyes sighed again in exasperation. Why did he have to go through all of this?
His father wanted him to get married, but he had to find the suitable princess.
Grace was awful! She was too tall and too recklessly physical. One slap had sent him flying across the room! Everything after that was just pain, pain, pain. She was loud and too rough, and she didn't seem to think of him before she moved. Drew felt beaten and tired after even trying to eat lunch with her.
He had been meeting princesses from all across the world. They came in many varieties. Some were short, tall, fat, skinny, loud, shy, cold, friendly- there were all sorts. Only one seemed to catch his attention: Princess Kasumi from Kanto. He liked her tomboyish attitude. She was the only one with orange hair. But she had one problem: she didn’t like him. She thought of him as conceited and plain, though did say that he was cute and polite, but not the one for her.
Drew leaned on the rail, and a tear slid down his face and fell into the rose garden.
He felt like a prisoner in his father’s castle. At least it was his free time today, but there was nothing to do, and so much time.
He peered over the castle wall, envying the villagers, who were bustling about with so much to do. Why couldn't he have a more exciting life?

May and her brother Max hid behind a wall. They felt empty from hunger and peeked around stealthily.
Max shuddered. “Sis, are you sure we won’t get caught stealing food again?”
She laughed at him. “Scardey-cat! Fine, I’ll do it! You’ll be eating in no time!”
Max didn’t bother to make a comeback. He bit his lip, still doubting that they could make it again.
May watched as the salesman turned around to speak with a costumer and took off, aiming for an apple.
The salesman quickly turned around and caught her by the arm. “You again!” He yelled menacingly.
May struggled to be freed of his grasp, but she was too weak. Guards in silver armor and weapons gathered around her and took her to the palace. "Max!"
"Sis!" her brother cried back helplessly.

A guard walked into the room and bowed to the king. “Your Majesty, we have a visitor. She has just attempted thievery.”
The king frowned and pointed at one of his servants. “You, go fetch the prince.” He's got to see how to deal with these terrible people, the king thought with a sigh.
The maid nodded and hurried up the stairs.

Drew sat on his bed, bored. He flopped onto the green pillow and stared up at his ceiling, which was painted a ground view of the top of the trees. He also had a sunroof, but it was cloudy today, deeming the glass useless. Then he turned his attention to the glass vase with roses. No, the maid had already changed them today. He took one out and sniffed it. It soothed his spirit.
There was a rushed knock at the door, but whoever knocked didn’t wait for permission to come in. The hired girl rushed in.
“Karla, what is it?”
“Your father needs you,” she said, panting. “In the throne room, we have a visitor.”

Drew stood next to his father’s throne. It was ruby red velvet, edged with gold swirls. It stood taller than the King himself, so there was a stairway up to the seat.
The guards pushed a girl in.
She looked up and gazed around her surroundings. amazed by the size of the enormous room and the beautiful and complicated decorations. She had chestnut brown hair, and sapphire blue eyes that sparkled fearfully.
The king stared down at her. “Identify yourself, commoner.”
The girl obviously did not like being called such a degrading name and scowled. “May.”
Drew looked at her, amazed by her voice. It sounded somehow precious. It sounded like pearls dropping into water, rounded and sweet.
The king ignored her pleasant voice and boomed at her. “What did you do?”
May shuddered under his booming voice. “I tried to steal from the market,” she admitted shamefully.
Several of the servants gasped. The king ignored them and shouted at her. "Why?"
The girl looked away. "We can't afford food, so-"
"That's rather too bad, isn't it?" the king replied impatiently. Drew glared at his father. Why did he have to be so... mean?
May stomped her foot in exasperation. "You wouldn't understand how hard life is for-"
"I hardly care. Now, you can spend the rest of your life working for me, or just be sentenced to death because I have no use for you and you cause enough trouble," the king told her glumly.
Drew gaped at his father, shocked. His father was kind to him, but so cruel to others. That's not the kind of ruler I want to be. He looked back at May, unable to take his eyes off of her.
"I'd rather die than work for someone like you," she shouted at him.
"This impertinence! Seize her, guards, and prepare the sword," he ordered.
The guards grabbed her arms like they were sticks of gold. She didn't resist. Drew didn't like the feeling that rose in him. Something about her wanted him to keep her alive. He didn't understand what it was.
"Stop!" he yelled, and everyone in the room turned their attention to him. He grew nervous. "Don't... kill her. She'll be a servant, whether she'd like it or not."
May glared at him and he shrugged back, a stream of blush appearing on his face.
"You'll trim the rose bushes," the king said. "Do a good job of it."
Drew smiled. The rose bushes were just outside his bedroom! He could see her and talk to her everyday! It was a very pleasant thought. We could become good friends!
May, on the other hand, scowled. What the heck is he thinking?!
