Router Help

I have bought a router so I can send internet up to my bedroom and have installed it good until now. I have tried shifting wires, unplugging the modem and etc but it keeps telling me "The router is unable to connect to the internet, try turning the cable/dsl modem off and on again." I have tried it over and over again.

Can someone help? If I didn't have internet, would I be on here?

The same thing happened to me when I first got my router. I had it plugged into an uninterruptible powersupply thing, and for some strange reason it started working when I plugged the router directly into the wall instead. Is your router plugged directly into the wall? If not, it's worth a try。

Hey, I'll give that a try, mine is infact plugged into a surge protecter.
