(OoC: Neo, you wanted space weapons; you are going to get some (but not on the favourable end). I may be rushing this, but it is probably better for the Gjinka Alliance to go faster.)
Kenton Garner - Sableye Gjinka
Gjinka Alliance
The technological base of MetaGem™, in a cliff face in Mt. Moon
In fact, I actually managed to get to MetaGem™’s technological base without too much difficulty. I was actually surprised that something that involved hammerspace dimensions wouldn’t be guarded with more care. Even so, I shouldn’t doubt the Stalwart Brotherhood. They have already captured Sinnoh and Unova, so they were not to be underestimated.
Anyway, on the way from Lavender Town to the base, I managed to rent a black SUV (which I drove by myself, contrary to those Gjinka’s who were pampered on hand and foot). In the back of it, Multicaspar examined the small, rectangular, metal object in more detail. It was completely plain, with the exception with a small trench running down the middle, which connected to two purple, pulsing circles. Between them, purple energy flowed along the trench.
Multicaspar managed to find out that it actually was linked to two hammerspace dimensions, one which fuelled the object, and another where the energy was flowing to. The ‘fuelling’ dimension was apparently very full, and wouldn’t run out for a couple of hundred billion years. Plenty of enough time for me to go through with my life, and it would have enough energy to fuel…the project. Also, Multicaspar found out that the human we had took it from had got the object in the first place, him/her/it using a Lucario soul it had to sense who it had come from. I had already worked out that it probably came from the underwater ruins by Undella Town, because a) it had similar markings to other objects that came from there and b) immensely powerful trans-dimensional objects always come from ancient civilisations. It is practically a law of the universe.
The actual base itself was located behind the main face of Mt. Moon. Only accessible by a dangerous, rocky mountain road, the base was dug into the rock face. Even if you could get an infiltrating army in there to uproot our secrets, there were so many automated turrets and guards that it would take several armies to break down the first gate. Of a set of three. You may call me paranoid, but you can never be too careful. All of the turrets and security systems were hard-wired into the machines, so no viruses could actually get into them. Even better, they could only be changed in allegiance by directly programming long winding codes into them, which they would not tolerate. This would be shown by the chain-gun fire. Honestly, we had a few pieces of equipment that the military didn’t have.
Anyway, I strode inside the chrome-covered building after some long-winded security checks, and walked with a purpose towards the third elevator on the right. When I got there, I scanned my thumb against a machine that even I don’t really understand, and said, “Alpha 69.” Once I had done that, the elevator started to move down in a diagonal fashion, before coming to a stop around three-quarters of the way down. To open the doors, I entered in a long-winded code, before walking inside the secret laboratory.
I went over to a balding, fifty year old, stocky Porygon Gjinka by the name of Matthew Mathewson, and showed him the object, before asking him, “Can you tell me what this is?”
The man dressed in a white coat glanced at the object and gasped rapidly, before wheezing, “That…is a theoretical object known as a TeraSpike. It is linked to two dimensions. I probably would’ve already known that it is mysterious in nature, but it doesn’t have a huge amount of energy – it has infinite energy. This thing can take out galaxies without a second thought… that is, if it could think. It cannot be recreated entirely, at least, with our technology.”
I opened my mouth and closed it several times, before stuttering, “But…wh…could you make something similar?”
Matthew paused for a moment, before replying hesitantly, “Technically, yes…we could link a similar device up to some hammerspace dimensions… but it would be a lot less strong than this one, unfortunately.”
I paused, and realised that this TeraSpike could be used for far greater things than my project, but a replica could easily power my desires. Therefore, I asked the man, “Now, we are a company specialising in gems and metals. Where is the most abundant source of these objects?”
The scientist scoffed, and said, “Well, obviously, in…space…”
“And of course, we could easily wipe out our enemies, the Stalwart Brotherhood, with energy consuming super lasers, launched from a gigantic space platform that was powered by the same object.” With this, I left my scientist with the task of creating a weaker version of the TeraSpike, and to design a spatial mining base/ultimate space-based war machine. I knew I would be impressed by his efforts.
Whilst on a cheerier note, I went down to the elevator, said, “Beta 9.7” and waited for the elevator to gown down to the very bottom, where only I knew what lay down there.
In a chrometacular room lay several benches and tables, each holding several advanced weapons, defensive systems, and a hell of a lot of wiring. On one table lay some extremely volatile crossbow bolts, mainly because they were explosive. On another table lay a crossbow that the bolts would fit into. While I had tested it out on an unfortunate dummy with epic results, I was in constant fear of the bolts going off if I touched them in the wrong place. Therefore, I was only going to use them until…the project was done. There were also some experimental weapons like a triple-barrelled machine gun, as well as a few sets of armour for Pokémon.
I sent out my entire team, and we went to work. Steelystryke poured over the computers, while Diamandon looked over the armour and Multicaspar tinkered with the beyond-awesome crossbow. However, Nightstalker and I approached the final piece of equipment with a suitable amount of awe…the project.
Technically, the project was known as the Brisinger Armour System Mk II. It was, in short, the most advanced suit of armour unknown to most of the world. It looked like a green-ish suit of carbon fibre, body armour and graphene (OoC: Graphene is a real material, and it is awesome) armour, with a green helmet which was equipped with a dual-scope just above the visor. There were several pieces of high tech equipment, namely the thrusters pack on the back of the suit, which wasn’t powerful enough to work in atmosphere, but would be useful if I ever got stranded in space. The scopes on the helmet did not need to be pulled down, but could be activated via voice command to filter it into the helmet. There was also an attachable air tank, with the suit pressurized and airtight, allowing it to be used anywhere on the planet and in space. It also had ‘long fall boots’ allowing it to fall from great heights without the person inside noticing too much, although incredibly large heights (from small mountains) would damage the user quite badly. It also had the standard GPS, tracking devices, a back holster that could hold the crossbow and the sniper rifle, as well as plenty of other additions. There was also a slot for a power source and a combat knife. The helmet allowed unsurpassed viewing of the area, as well as providing useful information. Best of all, you could walk normally in the body-shaped suit without your victims crying too much. There was also a primitive AI which showed potential targets, how much ammunition was left, among other things.
However, the best part of all was the ‘shield’ system. Basically, it strengthened the multiple layers of graphene using the power of electricity, making the wearer of the suit resistant against most projectiles. Heck, that was an understatement. This suit and the occupant could survive a blast from a rocket launcher (but just barely). Even so, there were drawbacks. Firstly, the shield system used a lot of energy, but hopefully the replica TeraSpike would fix that. Secondly, it took time to recharge after being hit. And thirdly, it wasn’t invincible. Sustained damage would make the suit give in.
As I fiddled around with possibly the best piece of military equipment of all time, Steelstryke swore badly and beckoned me to come. As I saw the screen, something was wrong. Firstly, most of the pages of relatively secret information that I allowed the military to steal from me were covered in bunnies, fluff, and were generally messed around with. Secondly, no passwords were working. And finally, almost all of the remaining pages, including the huge stacks of information, were corrupted. Clearly, this was one serious and malicious hacker.
Unfortunately for them, I had several tricks up my sleeve. Possibly the best kept secret of our company was the base computer. It could not be corrupted remotely in any way, shape, or form. It contained lots of vital information, and also lots of very important records. It could not be corrupted, for a very simple reason: It was not connected to any other computer in the world. No internet, email, and it ran on custom-made batteries (just to make sure of everything). The information was transferred from the base computer to the other computers by the highly inefficient ‘remember what you saw there, and remember to put the same information on the other computers’. The only way to screw everything over there would be to manually delete everything. And while, in theory, you could gain everything from our company via the rest of the computers, some things were kept secrets.
If someone did a ‘torch and burn’ virus on it, the information would be back on in little over an hour. Therefore, I called the people running this unbeatable system, and told them to put everything back online. However, I was aggravated. Firstly, the information was completely hacked, but mainly because it had the tell-tale sign of a Lopunny's work, the one thing that was worse that a Buneary. Whoever this was wasn't going to exist for much longer.
With that, there was nothing useful to be done, so I just waited for our information to be up-and-running, as well as the stuff from Matthew to be completed.
