RPG Ideas and Wishes

Ok it's late and I've got work in the morning, but this idea has been killing me. Also hi from many years of not being here to everyone who may remember me! Finally bit the bullet and returned here because man this was a great time for me and I've been trying to get into writing again; what a good place to start things back up.

ANYWAY, on to the point of the idea that's been scratching at my mind. A sort of mystery/horror Pokemon RPG where a huge science facility goes into lockdown; the goal is to escape or discover what's causing the lockdown to lower it. Would love someone to co-GM as I was already thinking of having a bunch of different experimental groups, each with their own buildings and NPCs and whatnot, but want to gauge interest first to see if anyone would sign up in the first place. Also wow, Serebii is different, if there's another place I should be posting to ask about this let me know and I'll move it, thanks!

UM YES. 1000% yes! This is absolutely my cup of tea! I love horror settings and if you do need the help I'd be more than willing.

Skill! It's been ages. I remember you, but dang, it's been a while...

Totally up for that idea, sounds fun! My only concern's the part where players would be split into groups in different buildings. I'm not sure if there's enough rpers around to sustain that, and if the groups are small and one or two person poof, it could kill off the progress for one group entirely. It might be better to just have one group, which could then be temporarily split further if you'd like to promote the whole exploration aspect. Though even then, would suggest not making the group too large. Hell, if there's more interest than there are spots in the initial group, you could make a second one afterwards.

Just came back a lil while ago myself and yeah, man, Serebii is different. This seems to still be the place to post this stuff though - well, this and the Discord group, maybe. You can find the link in one of the pinned topics in here. Seems like Discussion Topics for individual rps are out and Discord groups in right now.

*Explodes into thread* DID SOMEBODY SAY A HORROR/POKEMON RPG?!?!? YES. YOU HAVE MY FULL ATTENTION!

*Ahem* I'm not sure how the experimental groups thing would work, however the idea overall certainly interests me as a huge fan of survival horror tropes in general. I'd be more that happy to help flesh out the idea if you need assistance. Trust me - we need more good horror RPs around here!

Wow! Thanks for all the support, hopefully I can fine tune the idea a little better, and if anyone wants to help just shoot me a PM for now and I'll get back to you tomorrow (work schedule is a maze to work around atm).

Right now it's just ideas so I'll have to write something up, but I imagine players would be working at the lab in one way or another, or a visitor helping a friend on their project, high security stuff, it would happen on a weekend so not too many other people are around, getting close to night so extra spooky. Anyway I'll start brain dumping the next few days and see what comes up, glad people like the idea and I'll do what I can to make it great!

I would depend on how the plot is set-up, but the last trapped in a pokemon lab RP I can remember doing was a lot of fun while it lasted. I too would caution any sort of grouping that makes players too reliant on 1-2 other people, because that can be an RP killer. Of course you may want to start with a small group anyways for a horror RP.

Good day. I'm a stranger on here, but I doubt I will be for long.

I'm looking for any fantasy themed RPG that's still accepting people. Due to outside demands, I don't know how often I can reply but I'll try. Any amount of lore is adored, and I have a wide variety of already made characters that can adapt to different RPGs. I'm still learning to navigate this site so I'm a little slow in finding them myself.

Although I did do a fairly awesome RPG on another site I'm asking permission to recreate. It takes place in a fantasy setting that wasn't elaborated on (which I'll have to do), and it involved four kingdoms. Three were prosperous, while the fourth fell and turned to "the Dark One" to make them strong again. They created an army of shadowy creatures and parasites...giving their citizens powers, but in exchange for their obedience. This "disease of darkness" began to spread to the other kingdoms, and so the rulers of each brought back their ultimate weapon.

The Divines. Each Kingdom had a team of elite warriors with the power of the gods in the form of weapons by their sides. Most were dormant and sealed away in temples dedicated to them, but a few new Divines were Chosen to take the place of the defeated warriors.

Each branch of the Divines has...

The Divine: An uncreative title, but essentially leads their team into battle. Experience and strategy is a must when going against these creatures, and they've got it. Interact directly with their monarch and make decisions alongside them as an equal.
Callers: The charismatic member of the Branch, that brings the team together and unites the people they're protecting. Usually work closely with the Divine to announce the beginning and end of combat. Callers are Beloved by people, and equipped with silver tongues.
Enforcer: Essentially the clean up crew. They remove corpses and traumatic scenes in order to calm the people, almost like a Caller. They keep the peace.
Dove: The healer and supportive fighter in the Branch. They have magic so powerful that there are records of Doves reviving those who had been dead for years. Light, holy magic is a common stereotype of any Dove.
Gatekeepers: These specialists fortify cities physically and spiritually. Guards, wards, and other trap Magic is their speciality. Some even are said to be able to open rifts to other worlds. Paired with a Caller, perhaps they could call reinforcements from a stranger place.
Bleeder: This is the tank. The lone wolf fighter that gets neck deep in the blood of their enemy. The Bleeder is unrelenting, and tends to work alone despite being apart of a team. Their pride and independence make them difficult to work with. However, when paired with a Dove, Bleeders can topple cities.

Yeah, I really enjoyed this RP. It needs a lot more fleshing out and it's a long writeout but I feel like I could do it if I had someone else to help me Admin since I'm a noob here.

Anyway, blabber over. Thanks for your time.

It's so shiny!
I cannot stress enough that we need a good myth-based RPG here. Something like the Percy Jackson books and/or the Scion tabletop RPG.

I know we've had some myth-based RPs pop up in the past, but they either didn't start or didn't really last long. Still, I will echo this response in saying that I to would like to see a good myth-based RP around here. I've attempted to do one myself on another forum, but due to general lack of motivation, I dropped it. Perhaps I might bring it here one day.

As for myself, I'd love to see another Fire Emblem RP on here again.

Hah, you're funny.
Jumping unto the mythos bandwagon tho. There has been a lot of them in the past, yes, but they're still pretty solid concepts if they manage to take off.

y'all like... Lovecraft??? @fango pango and I have been tossing around some ideas for a Lovecraftian roleplay themed around the Seven Deadly sins and some junk with Eldritch beings. We just want to gauge some interest to see how worthwhile it would be to pursue it on Serebii. (it's unlikely we'd post this roleplay until around May/June because I'm in school until late April).

I know literally nothing of lovecraft things, but i am very open for eldritch realness. How would you present such topics for those wanting to join but don't know about the lore?

YES

but like seriously I would 10/10 join that.

It'd be an original work, so no need to worry about the deepest depths of hipster Lovecraftian fiction. Whilst nothing is hugely concrete yet, we will have better answers when we do start properly working on it. I get that there are people who don't really know about this kind of stuff, and I want to be able to explain that to people who like the ideas but might not get some of the lore.

So with my semester officially over (feels like it's been a lifetime) I wanted to pitch the idea I've been working on to gouge some interest before I finalize a few things.

I've been working on a Pokemon trainer Roleplay (possibly set in a fanmade region but I may change that to an existing region depending on the feedback I receive). However, our trainers would be working against a plot to blot out the sun, which in turn would turn Pokemon into Shadow Pokemon. It would start somewhat lighthearted, regular old trainer roleplay and then eventually turn into something a tad darker once our heroes discovered their first shadow Pokemon.

I can get on board with this.

That could be interesting, as always plot details are important to me. I have questions about blotting out the sun, since that would kill all life (I don't know how shadow pokemon came about in canon, it could be the same for all I know).

Solsabre

The Reforged Soul
Just letting folks know, that Storymasterb is working on a new digimon rp with Arthurian overtones. No humans, just digimon for characters. Might be a few weeks yet, before a sign up goes up. More details to come yet.

Considering it's the Pokemon universe I'm taking some liberties and just saying the blotting of the sun would basically turn Pokemon Shadow or dark. Humanity would subsequently be destroyed by the Shadows.

The Lovecraftian RPG is also still happening at some point, we're just working out the final details.
