Ruby Restart! hints & tips.

[Pokemon God]

I have started anew game in ruby,I have never had ruby before,only sapphire and emerald.My friend loaned me his ruby so I could see what it's like,heard it's the exact same as sapphire only different poemon,Can any-one give me any good hints or tips on how to progress through the game easily.here's my team:

Mudkip lv.12
Quiet nature
Moves known - mud slap,tackle,water gun,growl.

Poochyena lv.8
Timid nature
Moves Known - tackle,howl.

I am in petalburg woods at the moment,any EV info would be very helpfull as well.

 

[Trifecta]

poochyena...timid nature (+spd, -atk)
poochyena is more of an attacker so i might suggest you try to catch another one
natures that boost attack are:
lonely
brave
adamant
naughty

poochyena gives attack EVs

Just breeze through with mudkip. Teach it
Water Gun/Surf
Mud Shot/Earthquake
and fill up the rest.
You probably need something to take care of grovyle. This guy was tough to take down when I tried to use mudkip solo. I suggest training an abra. Hopefully you can kill grovyle with confusion before the he kills you with pursuit.

Dont worry about EVs/Ivs. They arent important AS EV POINTS EXTRA ARENT MUCH AT LOW LEVELS. Might as well just finish the game till the elite four. Then you can start breed/train to make a good team. I suggest taking a look at the guides on the main site for more info on ev training and breeding.

 

[Haunter]

It's exactly the same as Sapphire. Except that it's Team Magma with groudon and Team Aqua are good...
