[Ruby] Started A New Game

Okay, I haven't started a new game in a long time, so I'm a little rusty on some stuff.

I restarted my Ruby game, whilst playing on Box on my GameCube. I picked Treeko (the first time I didn't choose a Fire starter...ever!), and I've done 2 gyms and just spoken to Steven on Dewford Island.

One of the following has happened:
  • Pokémon don't really get much of a chance to gather EVs good at the start of the game
  • Box is glitched and stupid, and gives me poor IVs on purpose
  • I've been extremely unlucky so far with IVs, with Treeko, Makit (understandable-ish, traded) and Ralts

However, regardless of how crap my Pokémon are, I am going to continue with this new game (as I've saved and I'm not restarting again for good IVs on 3 Pokémon).

What I am trying to do with this new game is stay away from what I did last time, I regards to what Pokémon I used in my team, etc.

In my last save I used:
  • Blaziken
  • Gardevoir
  • Groudon
  • Rayquaza
  • Walrein
  • (Whatever I was training at the time)

Like I said, this time I want to move away from those Pokémon, and just use a different team (I have the old team and pokémon from the old save on colosseum and box).

I'm not far, but I have caught myself a zubat, geodude, abra, and probably something else that I've forgotten about.

I was thinking of having an Alakazam, Golem, Gengar (trade evo trio :O), Houndoom, Sceptile and unnamed Pokémon #6...

Houndoom is possible because I have Colosseum, completed 100%. Including Ho-Oh.

Thoughts?

I was thinking maybe RMT for this, but it started off not about that.

lol @ houndoom<3, I wouldn't have guessed you'd recommend Houndoom....:)

I never use legendaries, it's just too tedious. I would definitely consider using a Chansey if I were you.

I may get suicune in from colosseum...

Is Chansey even obtainable in Ruby? I only have Ruby and Colosseum.

How about trying something different? Like a Goldeen? Once I trained a Goldeen right up to a Lvl 65 Seaking - his versatility was extremely useful, and he got me out of more than one sticky situation. :p
