Rumors & Leaks - Speculation/Discussion Thread

A youtuber commented on Indigo Disk's release, wondering if he would be able to cover all of it before Christmas, and Khu replied it would not be possible because some of the content will be locked.

Considering it was already announced the DLC will go back to Area Zero after the Blueberry portion is concluded, Khu's comment got me thinking we might only get the BB part on December and the third final portion of the DLC (the one that takes place in the Area Zero) will come later...
Hopefully I'm wrong and whatever is locked for later are just some raid-exclusive mon/forms.
I've been considering that option as well ever since the 7+8+1 tweet, which I have a hard time interpreting as anything other than a stand-alone mythical or a portion of the DLC not truly being a part of either Part 1 or Part 2. The way the Area Zero portion of the DLC was described stood out to me as well since it didn't mention it taking place in ID (On top of your school trip in Kitakami and your studies abroad at Blueberry Academy, the story of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero will tie back to the Paldea region as well.) as well as the description of the Indigo Disk on its own (In Part 2: The Indigo Disk, you’ll be traveling to Blueberry Academy, a sister school of your own academy, as an exchange student.) There is very little information that ties the exploration of Area Zero to the Indigo Disk overall, although there are a few things like Raging Bolt/Iron Crown explicitly being mentioned to become available in ID.

Yeah, I hadn't considered the possibility before. But it makes sense.

From an objetive POV, getting the third portion of the DLC later would probably be for the best, since it would probably mean it would be bigger and more developed than getting it crammed along with the Blueberry portion in ID.
But since we have no idea of what the Blueberry plot is going to be yet, I currently have no interest in it except for however it will tie in with the Tera and helping finally explaining the phenomenon, so my only interest right now plot-wise is getting to the core of the Tera/Area Zero stuff.

If there was a 3rd part of the DLC why wouldn't they have revealed it at first
Because that decision might not have been made at the time. Either that or it's only gonna be for a special rerelease of Scarlet and Violet for the next Nintendo console next year.

I'm not too worried. Terapagos will appear in ID so even if some portions of the DLC are held off for later I can't imagine Terapagos making its appearance without any questions being answered.

i feel like there will be at least a BB League tournament on the level what is already in the base game, but as a battle focus school here's hoping its more closer to a battle tower/tree scenario.

i won't be bothered if nothing comes from it, but it would be great to see the northwest portion of the map get unlocked to explore.

if nothing comes from it i find it a really odd design chose just to show Paldea is connected to Kalos via its version of Andorra.

I would agree. If there does end up being a surprising third part of the DLC I think it would follow on from revelations about Terapagos within the Indigo Disk and I think the actual capture of Terapagos will be in the Indigo Disk. That being said I'm a bit sceptical about there being a 3rd part until there is something more substantial behind the rumour.

Probably not since it's been like half a month, why did the thread need to be bumped for this
Oh I'll message him if it comes to that. It was a warning that if he doesn't respond here, then I msg him instead. Most people prefer the former. But I shouldn't be telling you this. I'm only posting this here since the msg to mods forum is disabled.

And I'm thinking that if there is a third part, then it would only be available for a rerelease of Scarlet and Violet on the next Nintendo console, which would also have the Teal Mask and the Indigo Disk available from Day 1.

Let's not make things into an argument. Let's get back on topic and not continue this line of discussion. Thanks.

It's to any "why don't you do B" when the answer is "we're doing A and B." B is usually why don't you take it to message.

Speaking of that, I'm gonna send you a separate message instead.

We have enough drama in the actual physical world going on without people on Pokemon forums looking to start fights with other people over the internet. Even writing this out feels dumb that we have to say this.

On topic - have seen a few videos where more of the Terrarium has been shown, and it looks like a much bigger take on Kitakami in terms of the world building (i.e. it is a separate area, circular in overall shape, with areas to explore with Pokemon in it and having an overall change in height across small mountain ranges, across to lakes and similar, across the four types of terrain).

I am surprised at how much more I like the look of it in the videos than Kitakami, though I think they missed a trick in making it a “sky” dome made out of LED panels, than making it something like glass and having the sea over it. I reckon that could have made for a very cool effect, with the sun coming down onto the terrarium through water instead, and Pokemon could have swum around the terrarium. But hey ho, we have what we have and it still looks like fun.

The question I really want answered is whether the new flying ability for Koraidon and Miraidon willl extend to the other areas of the game, Paldea and Kitakami. If it does (big if I think), then that would open up a new way of exploring these areas and probably give us some fun by just flying around.

The last time we had something like this was ORAS I think, with mega Latias and Latios.

Yeah, I've been cautiously hoping for that as well. Given that you pretty much need to complete every other aspect of the game before you can even start the Indigo Disk I don't see the problem with giving the player full flight at that point.

It’s always tomfoolery time

The website says “In order to tackle the Elite Trial set by Amarys, your Legendary Pokémon—Koraidon or Miraidon—can take a supplement that will grant it the power to fly! It seems this power is only temporary, but perhaps someday this hidden potential will be fully unleashed...

Seems they’re implying you’ll eventually unlock flying permanently
