I've don't know if I missed it, but has there been any info about any new shiny hunting method in these games?
Mass outbreaks from Legends Arceus are back, plus you make certain sandwiches to increase your chances. Apparently after sandwiches the odds are even better than in Legends Arceus. Supposedly you make a sandwich with 3 different herba mystica in it at you get 2-4 shinies in an hour, it's that easy.

And this is why I haven’t finished my Home Dex yet to get Original Magerna. I didn’t want to pay for Bank knowing it would become free next year.

I just found out about this Original Magearna on Pokemon Home but apparently it's been a bit buggy to unlock. Is it all fixed now? Is the requirement only to have every Pokemon up until Eternatus on Pokemon Home? I'm just about to start a Shield playthrough to get the version exclusives so I got a bit excited when I found out about this. I'd really love an Original Magearna.

Are these odds with or without the Shiny Charm and when are these ingredients available?

Also, I saw somewhere else that the Lets go feature won't attack shiny Pokemon. Is this true?

If it’s true, I’m guessing it’s so that players can get a fair chance at catching it. Shinies are extremely sought after by players after all and will be the first to be traded on the GTS. You can seriously offer a Shiny Sunkern with extremely bad stats and moves and ask for something like a Milotic and someone will trade you the Milotic within a day.

So it seems all the teachers are battle-able! including Jacq! There are about 6-7 teachers and their ace seem to be level 66 so I'm guessing we challenge them in the tournament. Interestingly all of the Gym Leader's rematch teams are all of levels 65-66 so I wonder if they also join the Ace Tournament.

We also have our rock type specialist now! One of the teachers has a team of rock type Pokemon with Gargancl being his/her ace.

Elite Four do not join the tournament, you cannot challenge Poppy and Rika other than that one time which is a shame... You can challenge Hassel but that is because he is a teacher at the academy anyway.

Here are the teachers and their ace Pokemon:

Teacher Jacq - Farigiraf
Teacher Tyme (rock specialist) - Gargancl
Teacher Salvatore - Raichu
Teacher Saguaro (black bearded guy) - Hatterene
Teacher Raifort - Gengar
Teacher Miriam - Toxapex
Teacher Dendra - Hariyama

Does anyone know which teacher is which? I know only Saguaro, Dendra and Jacq. Any ideas on the other teachers?

Without, reviewers and leakers have been coming across shinies just by random, mass outbreaks or after sandwich buffs.

I read somewhere that you can catch the Four Perils at any point in the game, can anyone confirm this? And if so, what levels?

Tyle seems to be Ryme's sister. Maybe she is the supposed GL/E4 which retired just before the game started
Salvatore is the Italian looking elegant
Miriam is the nurse
Not sure about Raifort (there is one more woman from what I remember

Raifort is the history teacher I believe, yes she is a woman.

They're level 60, at least I know that Chien-Pao is lv60 so I would assume the rest are as well.
You need to remove stakes all over the overworld to unlock the seals for the legendaries. I'm not sure if you need specific modes of Koraidon/Miraidon to reach all of them, or if you can reach them from the start either through normal movement or cheesing the geography.

What is the point of shiny starter and legendary pokemon if they are going to be shiny locked?

Would be very surprised if it wasn't just the starters you get at the start of the game that are shiny-locked, and that you couldn't get shinies through eggs.
As for the legendaries, saved for future event distributions probably.

Bought Scarlet today.

Not going to lie, I was tempted with the double pack but saw no incentive to it. Pratically, the same price as buying them separetely (actually, I did the math and it was 1 cent more expensive lol)

I've mused going for Violet because I like Miraidon's bike form better (it looks an actual motorcycle) but I like Koraidon's look and typing better. It'd be easier if his bike wasn't combining the arms and chest wheels to run. C'mon, GF should've picked only one there.

This is in reference to the theory that the paradoxes are not from the past/future but actually imaginary.
The dubious paranormal magazines referenced in the opposite game's paradox Pokédex entries can actually be found in-game. And Sada/Turo states that they aren't exactly sure where the "time machine" is pulling the Pokémon from. The leading theory I have heard is that Sada/Turo read these magazines, imagined that it was what Pokémon from the past/future actually look like and then the "time machine"/third legendary created these Pokémon.
So... In a way they are basically some character's fanfic/fakemon, except part of continuity? :p
This isn't exactly new information, but I haven't seen it mentioned in this thread (did a quick search for ribbon/ribbons).
There are only two new ribbons. Paldea Champion Ribbon which you get for beating the league, and I think other Pokémon can get for winning the ace tournament afterward. And the Once-in-a-Lifetime Ribbon which is quite frankly ridiculous and will give anyone trying to collect all ribbons on Pokémon nightmares for years if it works as theorized.

Honestly, I quit hunting for ribbons ever since Dexit became a thing. I was collecting ribbons for my Chespin but I'll be forever locked from getting the Galar Champion ribbon so I simply couldn't bother anymore.
Just for fun, I did a head count of all of the missing Pokémon that are unavailable in Sw&Sh and will continue to be missing in S&V's base games.

There are 124 that I was able to pinpoint, but it's possible that my count is subject to a degree of error since it is based on data from the leaks and I did it manually. It's also possible that someone on the internet already did this and did it better than me. Regardless, here is the full list:

Even though some of them appeared throughout BD/SP/LA, they weren't in Sw/Sh which acted as the main competitive scene; so I'm personally hoping that we'll see some of them return for future DLC.

Feel free to let me know of any errors that I may have made.
I agree with what someone said on Reddit: all starters should be garanteed to return in all games.

Including rematches it's a whopping 538!

Comparison:
B2W2: 540
SV: 538
Emerald: 478
Platinum: 457
HGSS: 454
DP: 451
FRLG: 449
BW:445
ORAS: 444
XY: 377
Crystal: 376
GS: 366
USUM: 354
Ruby/Sapphire: 341
Yellow: 339
Red/Blue: 338
SM: 258
SWSH: 154

They are btw hidden all over Paldea. A lot of them need active searching and going off your road. So in order for you to effectively level up, you have to explore the region.

Excellent design choice imo.

Pretty much. The post linked to by @Autobot N here is probably the most damning evidence. They flat out write that this Pokémon is something they came up with for fun.

I don't know how these counts have been tallied, and the comparisons might fall flat. Really depends on if the battles from the Battle Tower and similar facilities are included in the listings or not, as the battles from the ace tournament are included for SV.
