Internet Overlord
(Vern: Welcome. . . as GM, it's my job to keep us from teleporting into discontinuity.)
Miss Mace -
Location: Tropis Bar and Grill > Staryu Cove
Pokemon: Blue (Bellossom), Stormy (Absol), Glimmer (Sableye)
After the departure of the noisy bird, it was easy to focus on eat, at least until Blue decided he was done eating. When eating with he pokemon, Mace always had the fun choice between eating too fast, or risking not getting a chance to finish. For the moment though, at lease Blue was content with his berries.
Upon finishing, staff handed Mace the check directing her to pay at the register when ready, and started to clear the table. The register line funneled guest through a mini gift shop in hopes they'd pick some souvenirs up along the way, since they were paying anyways. Mace recalled Stormy due to her size, but left Blue and Glimmer to go through the line with her. Blue of course wanted to play with everything from the park-print pokeballs to the stuffed bird types and plant type sticker books, so Mace ended up having to pick him up. Glimmer meanwhile kept his hands to himself, only once pointing out something, coloring books. Mace smiled, she knew he hadn’t forgotten that he didn't get to color while they waited, but she wasn't about to pay the premium of a gift shop she was being forced through, “You'll get to color next time buddy.”
After paying they headed out the exit into the shaded jungle. Mace looked around at the paths and markers, she hadn't really decided what she wanted to do next. She stepped off the path and pulled the map out of her bag. She looked up to see if she needed to tame Blue, to find Glimmer had grabbed him and was guiding him to her. She scanned the map. There was so much to go do; they could explore the jungle some more, or there was the cove nearby, and if they cut north they could head over to the meadow, then there was also the mountains, caverns, and desert. . .
Mace sighed folding up the map, she looked between her two boys, “You guys want to go to the beach?”
“Bell-bell?” chimed Blue. Mace smiled and stuffing the map back in her bag, directed them back onto the path, “Okay, this way guys.”
Approaching the beach, Mace could see it was already pretty crowded, and wasn't sure how bad she wanted to stay. . . but then a bit of swimming or sunbathing could be fun. She started to look for a changing room, commenting to he pokemon, “stay close.”
Mt. Druddigon (Summit)
(The plot begins. . .)
Alexis and Robert were still having a good laugh as they finished up taking readings. But suddenly, a fierce wind ripped over the mountaintop. They took shelter from the stinging force of the wind behind their jeep, with Robert noting, “Ugh do you smell that?”
“I do,” confirmed Alexis, “Ooh, I think it's Ominous Wind. . . but I didn't think any of the pokemon around here learned that.”
“Don't be ridiculous,” countered Bob, “that's way too strong to be just Ominous Wind, we should probably issue a weather warning. . . but the smell could be from a stray Masquerain.”
“We should probably have a look around,” agreed Alexis as the wind died down. She got on the radio and contacted the other rangers to let them know what was was going on. As she set down the mic, something roared loudly. She shuddered and looked at Robert, “That was not a Masquerain.”
