*hits myself* I two lucky eggs and accidently erased them when I restarted my emerald game! What are some tips on catching safari zone poke's like what are the increased/decreased chances of throwing a rock/ or bait the first try? What's the best way to catch one, or perhaps Chansey tips?

*mods if there is a thread on this you can delete this post*

edit :ughh there is a thread under this one about safari zone, should i just post in that one instead? (unlucky day!)

Keep this thread, because the other's just asking where to find Tauros and where certain areas are.

To catch it, just throw a ball first thing. I'm not sure by how much, but rocks increase the chances of running and being caught, while bait decreases them. However, for Pokemon, especially Chansey, they will most likely run after one turn, and throwing a ball means you at least have one chance.

back.
Rocks and bait just complicate things. I agree, just throw balls. It took me only 2 tries before I got my Chansey.

It took me a while to catch my first chansey on fire red after running into like 10-15, and i was lucky enough to get a lucky egg on my first chansey caught =)

Pretty much what others have said, to just throw a safari ball, as bait and rocks aren't really helpful, in fact, I personally believe that bait and rock should only be used in desperate catches against common pokemon, maybe not even that.

On the contrary, the first Chansey I managed to catch, I did by throwing bait, then while it was eating, throwing a rock, followed by a safari ball.

Of course, it might just be pure luck that that happened. It's better to do what everyone else has suggested, and just throw a ball.

That's what I do, I throw bait (FRed), or go throw pokeblock (Emerald) Then throw a Rock (FRed) then Go closer (Emerald).
