• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.
  • Hi all. We had a couple of reports of people's signatures getting edited etc. in a bad way. You can rest assured this wasn't done by staff and nobody has compromised any of our databases.

However, remember to keep your passwords secure. If you use similar passwords to elsewhere which has been accessed, people and even bots may be able to access your account.

We always recommend using unique passwords, and two-factor authentication if you are able. Make sure you're as secure as possible

Sample Team (To learn the game mechanics)

Well, I havent rated yet because I have been trying to lurk, but the team seems somewhat dd salamence weak.

Well, as I have obviously never rated, sorry if this is off, but I would like to learn how to rate teams better...

Good. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Maybe change a moveset on one of the Pokémon? Or maybe even switch a Pokémon... I'll give you a hint. The best counter for a DD Mence is a certain duck like Pokémon

Defensive Duck Porygon2 is the best DD mence and DD gyara counter, while also helping with Jolteon and Heatran.
Here's the set:
Porygon2 (Trace)
Bold @ Leftovers
228 HP/188 Def/96 SpA
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Thunder Wave
-Recover

I would replace Starmie, as you don't need a spinner, and Azelf can already revenge kill Infernape. Porygon2 covers the other threats that Starmie was covering.

Good, all n00bs should take your example...

If that sounded offensive I wasn't calling you a n00b... actually you probably did the best job on this along with a few others

I take no offense from this at all. I am a n00b when it comes to rating, and am attempting to improve, and any help people, such as you, can give would be very much appreciated.

This is what this thread is for :)

We will be submitting a new one every week for you guys to rate and improve on

Great idea, Amphy. I may be tempted to come back more often. Plus the n00bs get to flex their sensible muscles.

Also, your team has no real answer for Mismagius (especially SubNP) bar Gallade, and if Gallade's down or it gets a Sub up, you're dead. There's no quick fix solution, but a defensive Magnezone deals with non-HP Fighting ones, and ones with it get outsped and KOed by Starmie.

Magnezone @ Leftovers
Bold / Magnet Pull
252 HP / 96 Def / 162 SpD
-Thunderbolt
-Hidden Power [Fire]
-Flash Cannon
-Magnet Rise

HP Fire also deals with Scizor, and Magnet Rise means that your opponent's EQs won't mess you up. the other moves are self-explanatory. The EV spread allows Zone to survive many attacks and retaliate accordingly.

I personally prefer Taunt over Close Combat on LeadApe, but eh. I'm too used to slow setup leads. Keep up the good work, guys!

If Mew can work well against this team, it can sweep. Also YacheChomp can sweep if he works well. We need faster (and better) Pokémon. Froslass covers both.
Froslass@Focus Sash
Timid/Hasty/Naive
Ice Beam
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt
Protect

Just an option~

also i didn't look at coverage but this team gets beaten by garchomp with EQ and crunch
also except for metagross its weak to weavile with aerial ace and night slash

but as i said i didnt check attack coverage

EDIT: 3 close combats, meoteor mash megahorm/bug bite beat weavile
ice punch beats chomp if it survives to hit it

Mew doesn't actually really have a counter... it's to versatile and there is no trainer IG that has a Mew, and if this went competitive I wouldn't use it in Ubers... so Garchomp wouldn't be a problem. Although good job on finding the Garchomp weakness... once again this team has a few major weaknesses.

EDIT: Metagross makes a decent counter for Mew... it can take a boosted Earthquake, and can fire back with MM.
