ya i was thinking about using that but then think it is totally murdered by ice attacks

Aerodactyl, far away. But look out for pkmn with water and ice moves like Lapras and Blastoise, or it will be killed very, very, very hard. But that water-weakness also counts for Sandslash and Rhydon ;)

actually, i think aerodactyl IS affected by electricity. (i did a battle simulation on XD where kyogre uses thunder on an aerodactyl. it killed him as far as i remember.) if you don't chose aerodactyl, i'd chose rhydon, it takes in all electrical attacks, and it doesn't even hurt him. (this is good when you're partners a flying or water type.) you could raise both rhydon and aerodactyl and put them on a team. course, you'd have abig disadvantage against water. anyway, it's your choice,

well i like rhydon and aerodactyl but aerodactyl can move quicker but doesn't have as many special attacks like rhydon would but aerodactyl can use dragon claw which would help in the elite 4

More like bliss as a result of your ignorance because it has a 2x weakness to electricity as opposed to any ill conceived resistance.

Anyway it depends on your party and game progression, but out of those three Sandslash is a pretty rocking guy. But then, one wonders why you aren't using Marowak a la Thick Club instead. Obviously Aerodactyl is the coolest and probably most powerful, but ingame he's a level five catch, and is tough to level up at the start IIRC.

ok, i know i sound wierd but i think u should go with sandslash.

it is a pokemon that you have probably not even used yet, and it is a very good pokemon if used wisely. you don't have to worry about electricity with sandslash. just teach him this moveset, and he will be amazing:

bulk up/swords dance
earthquake
slash
any other move that you want

trust me, sandslash is good, with that moveset, he can beat rhydon

I would go with Sandslash too. Jordman gave you a good moveset and it can sweep a whole team if you use enough Swords Dances. It also isn't as vunerable to common ice beam attacks like Aerodactyl.

For that last move maybe Substitute or Sandstorm. Substitute can give you a chance to Swords Dance.

I agree with you, Aerodactyl. but it is double weak against ice, and it is affected by electricity. gligar isn`t affected by electricity.

Aerodactyl is NOT 4x weak to Ice Gligar is! Ground is weak against Ice NOT Rock! See

Sandslash would probably be best ingame, because Aerodactyl is only lvl 5 and Rhyhorn come in kinda late-game anyway. By the time you get either Aerodactyl or Rhyhorn your Sandslash could be leveled up quite a bit.

If this is competetively go with Aerodactyl.

rhydon is also nice if you raise it well, but you catch it at a higher level and later in the game than sandshrew, which can often make a difference. you can teach it plenty of moves though, which is always a plus.

sandslash is nice and it ends up being very powerful in the end, but i had a hard time raising it at low levels in gold.

aerodactyl is probably the way to go. it is not a flying without electric weakness, but it is a rock without a ground weakness. plus you can teach it earthquake to ward off electric, steel, and rock types (all of which have a type advantage), and rock will take care of ice types. just be careful against water types. even if you catch it later in the game than the others, starting at level 5 lets you train it better.

i know about aero and i chose him by the way mine is Jolly (Super fast seriously lvl 30 with 96 speed.)
NOw 31 with 100 speed and i totally killed a pikachu lvl 29 and raichu lvl 29 with earthquake.
Aero is awsome!
