Save and Nurse Joy times?

Well.. just wondered about this... in EVERY new game the time it takes to save, and the time it takes to heal your Pokemon takes longer. Here's from Blue/Red to Ruby/Sapphire

Pokemon Center:

Reb/Blue: Welcome to our Pokemon Center! We heal your Pokemon back to perfect health! (Heal) Ok we'll need to your Pokemon. Thank You! Your Pokemon are fighting fit! We hope to see you again!

Ruby/Sapphire: Hello, and welcome to the Pokemon Center! We restore your tired Pokemon to full health. Would you like to rest your Pokemon? (Yes) Okay, I'll take your Pokemon for a few seconds. Thank you for waiting. We've restored your Pokemon to full health. We hope to see you again!

Saving:

Red/Blue: Would you like to save the game? (Yes) Now saving... (Name) saved the game!

Ruby/Sapphire: Would you like to save the game? (Yes) There is already a saved file is it okay to overwrite it? (Yes) Saving... Don't turn off the power. (Name) Saved the game!

I just think they should stop adding to the things... x.X For the Save part... "There is already a saved file is it okay to overwrite it?" WHY is that there?! In case you press Save by accident? There's arleady an option BEFORE That. I think that sentence is completely pointless. I hope in D/P they don't add something like "If you choose to save your game file will be saved." or something...

Yeah. First time ever player on Ruby/Sahppire: *sees power low* *saves before Pokemon league* *can't save in battle, is gonna beat steven, power goes off* I'm not saying it's THAT bad a thing... but I don't get what the point of adding to it in the first place is. o_O;

That's there for a reason. Especially since the Pokemon manuals never explain that there's only one save file, it's just kind of assumed you would know. I imagine a lot of people accidentally overwrote their original save files on R/B/Y thinking they had multiple save slots.

Plus, I agree with Mystic Power, two extra seconds is hardly enough to warrant anger. And you conveniently forgot to mention G/S/C, which was just as long as R/S/E. There won't be any more added to the save menu.

You're still side-stepping the point they're making. Is it really a big deal to press the button an extra time and wait an extra two seconds?

As was stated, it asks the first time if you want to save. Then, it informs you that you'll overwrite your data. It may be because it is never clearly stated that there is only one save file. It may be for people like me in the R/B/Y days who pressed buttons too quickly and saved accidently. They may be taking extra precautions so the gamers don't get p*ssed at the game and throw the handheld against the wall because they accidently saved after fainting Mewtwo or some other generically loved Pokemon.

Uh, yes. It's there to prevent you from saving should you screw something up and hit the save button by mistake when going through the menu. Also, ever think of this? Someone playing your save file screws with something in your game? ;\ They accidentally hit save when playing and end up keeping said screw up there.

Most games that have multi-file saves also have this to prevent new games from being saved over currently used saves immediately. Can you imagine the horror of someone playing a new file on your game and they chose to save without knowing it would delete your file, assuming the game was possible of having multi-file saves?

FAILURE.

I agree with you. If you press save by accident then that's your problem. And whenever my batteries are low and I'm saving I always get bad luck and it turns off while it's saving.

Umm I dont see how this is such a "big" problem. OOO 2 seconds longer than the usual!!! OH NO!!! Seriously, I still cant see this as being a problem. I dont even read what Nurse Joy says, I just wait until she heals my pokemon.

All this does is remind me that RBY was much quicker-to-the-point, but I don't really care. The save dialogue was extended since GSC for obvious reasons, and the Pokemon Center dialogue is pointless anyway. I do kind of agree. It would be nice to shorten the Joy dialogue.
